Filippesi 2
1 Se dunque [vi è] alcuna consolazione in Cristo, se alcun conforto di carità, se alcuna comunione di Spirito, se alcune viscere e misericordie,
If there be therfore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of loue, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any compassion and mercie,
2 rendete compiuta la mia allegrezza, avendo un medesimo sentimento, ed una medesima carità; [essendo] d'un animo, sentendo una stessa cosa;
Fulfill my ioye, that ye be like minded, hauing the same loue, being of one accorde, and of one iudgement,
3 non [facendo] nulla per contenzione, o vanagloria; ma per umiltà, ciascun di voi pregiando altrui più che sè stesso.
That nothing be done through contention or vaine glory, but that in meekenesse of minde euery man esteeme other better then himselfe.
4 Non riguardate ciascuno al suo proprio, ma ciascuno [riguardi] eziandio all'altrui.
Looke not euery man on his owne things, but euery man also on the things of other men.
5 Perciocchè conviene che in voi sia il medesimo sentimento, il quale ancora [è stato] in Cristo Gesù.
Let the same minde be in you that was euen in Christ Iesus,
6 Il quale, essendo in forma di Dio, non reputò rapina l'essere uguale a Dio.
Who being in ye forme of God, thought it no robberie to be equall with God:
7 E pure annichilò sè stesso, presa forma di servo, fatto alla somiglianza degli uomini;
But he made himself of no reputation, and tooke on him ye forme of a seruant, and was made like vnto men, and was founde in shape as a man.
8 e trovato nell'esteriore simile ad un uomo, abbassò sè stesso, essendosi fatto ubbidiente infino alla morte, e la morte della croce.
He humbled himselfe, and became obedient vnto the death, euen the death of the Crosse.
9 Per la qual cosa ancora Iddio lo ha sovranamente innalzato, e gli ha donato un nome, che [è] sopra ogni nome;
Wherefore God hath also highly exalted him, and giuen him a Name aboue euery name,
10 acciocchè nel nome di Gesù si pieghi ogni ginocchio delle [creature] celesti, e terrestri, e sotterranee;
That at the Name of Iesus shoulde euery knee bowe, both of things in heauen, and things in earth, and things vnder the earth,
11 e che ogni lingua confessi che Gesù Cristo [è] il Signore, alla gloria di Dio Padre.
And that euery tongue shoulde confesse that Iesus Christ is the Lord, vnto the glory of God the Father.
12 Perciò, cari miei, come sempre mi avete ubbidito, non sol come nella mia presenza, ma ancora molto più al presente nella mia assenza, compiete la vostra salute con timore, e tremore.
Wherefore my beloued, as ye haue alwayes obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in mine absence, so make an end of your owne saluation with feare and trembling.
13 Poichè Iddio è quel che opera in voi il volere e l'operare, per il [suo] beneplacito.
For it is God which worketh in you, both the will and the deede, euen of his good pleasure.
14 Fate ogni cosa senza mormorii, e quistioni;
Do all things without murmuring and reasonings,
15 acciocchè siate irreprensibili, e sinceri, figliuoli di Dio senza biasimo, in mezzo della perversa e storta generazione, fra la quale risplendete come luminari nel mondo, portando [innanzi a quella] la parola della vita;
That ye may be blamelesse, and pure, and the sonnes of God without rebuke in the middes of a naughtie and crooked nation, among whom yee shine as lights in the world,
16 acciocchè io abbia di che gloriarmi nel giorno di Cristo, ch'io non son corso in vano, nè in vano ho faticato.
Holding forth the worde of life, that I may reioyce in the day of Christ, that I haue not runne in vaine, neither haue laboured in vaine.
17 E se pure anche sono, a guisa d'offerta da spandere, sparso sopra l'ostia e il sacrificio della fede vostra, io [ne] gioisco, e [ne] congioisco con tutti voi.
Yea, and though I bee offered vp vpon the sacrifice, and seruice of your faith, I am glad, and reioyce with you all.
18 Gioite[ne] parimente voi, e congioite[ne] meco.
For the same cause also be ye glad, and reioyce with me.
19 OR io spero nel Signore Gesù di mandarvi tosto Timoteo, acciocchè io ancora, avendo saputo lo stato vostro, sia inanimato.
And I trust in the Lord Iesus, to sende Timotheus shortly vnto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I knowe your state.
20 Perciocchè io non ho alcuno d'animo pari [a lui], il quale sinceramente abbia cura de' fatti vostri.
For I haue no man like minded, who will faithfully care for your matters.
21 Poichè tutti cercano il lor proprio, non ciò che è di Cristo Gesù.
For all seeke their owne, and not that which is Iesus Christes.
22 Ma voi conoscete la prova d'esso; come egli ha servito meco nell'evangelo, nella maniera che un figliuolo [serve] al padre.
But yee knowe the proofe of him, that as a sonne with the father, hee hath serued with me in the Gospel.
23 Io spero adunque mandarlo, subito che avrò veduto come andranno i fatti miei.
Him therefore I hope to send assoone as I knowe howe it will goe with me,
24 Or io ho fidanza nel Signore ch'io ancora tosto verrò.
And trust in the Lord, that I also my selfe shall come shortly.
25 Ma ho stimato necessario di mandarvi Epafrodito, mio fratello, e compagno d'opera, e di milizia, e vostro apostolo, e ministro de' miei bisogni.
But I supposed it necessarie to sende my brother Epaphroditus vnto you, my companion in labour, and fellowe souldier, euen your messenger, and he that ministred vnto me such things as I wanted.
26 Perciocchè egli desiderava molto [vedervi] tutti; ed era angosciato per ciò che avevate udito ch'egli era stato infermo.
For he longed after all you, and was full of heauinesse, because yee had heard that hee had beene sicke.
27 Perciocchè certo egli è stato infermo, ben vicin della morte; ma Iddio ha avuta pietà di lui; e non solo di lui, ma di me ancora, acciocchè io non avessi tristizia sopra tristizia.
And no doubt he was sicke, very neere vnto death: but God had mercie on him, and not on him onely, but on me also, least I should haue sorowe vpon sorowe.
28 Perciò vie più diligentemente l'ho mandato, acciocchè, veggendolo, voi vi rallegriate di nuovo, e ch'io stesso sia men contristato.
I sent him therefore the more diligently, that when yee shoulde see him againe, yee might reioyce, and I might be the lesse sorowfull.
29 Accoglietelo adunque nel Signore con ogni allegrezza, ed abbiate tali in istima.
Receiue him therefore in the Lord with all gladnesse, and make much of such:
30 Perciocchè egli è stato ben presso della morte per l'opera di Cristo, avendo esposta a rischio la propria vita, per supplire alla mancanza del vostro servigio inverso me.
Because that for the woorke of Christ he was neere vnto death, and regarded not his life, to fulfill that seruice which was lacking on your part towarde me.
