Matteo 17
1 E SEI giorni appresso, Gesù prese seco Pietro, e Giacomo, e Giovanni, suo fratello, e li condusse sopra un alto monte, in disparte.
And after six days, Jeshu took Kipha, and Jakub, and Juchanon his brother, and led them to a high mountain by themselves.
2 E fu trasfigurato in lor presenza, e la sua faccia risplendè come il sole, e i suoi vestimenti divenner candidi come la luce.
And Jeshu was changed before them; and his countenance shone like the sun, and his vestments were resplendent as the light.
3 Ed ecco, apparvero loro Mosè ed Elia, che ragionavano con lui.
And there were seen with them Musha and Elia talking with him.
4 E Pietro fece motto a Gesù, e gli disse: Signore, egli è bene che noi stiam qui; se tu vuoi, facciam qui tre tabernacoli; uno a te, uno a Mosè, ed uno ad Elia.
Then answered Kipha, and said to Jeshu, My Lord, it is good for us to be here; and if thou art willing, we will make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Musha, and one for Elia.
5 Mentre egli parlava ancora, ecco, una nuvola lucida li adombrò; ed ecco, una voce [venne] dalla nuvola, dicendo: Questo è il mio diletto Figliuolo, in cui ho preso il mio compiacimento; ascoltatelo.
But while he spake, behold, a bright cloud overspread them, and the voice was from the cloud, saying, This is my Son, the Beloved, in whom I have delighted: to him attend.
6 E i discepoli, udito [ciò], caddero sopra le lor facce, e temettero grandemente.
And when the disciples heard, they fell upon their faces and feared greatly.
7 Ma Gesù, accostatosi, li toccò, e disse: Levatevi, e non temiate.
And Jeshu approached them and touched them, and said, Arise, fear not.
8 Ed essi, alzati gli occhi, non videro alcuno, se non Gesù tutto solo.
And they lifted up their eyes and saw no man, except Jeshu by himself.
9 Poi, mentre scendevano dal monte, Gesù diede loro [questo] comandamento: Non dite la visione ad alcuno, finchè il Figliuol dell'uomo sia risuscitato dai morti.
And while they were descending from the mountain, Jeshu charged them, and said to them, Before no man declare this vision, until the Son of man be risen from the dead.
10 E i suoi discepoli lo domandarono dicendo: Come adunque dicono gli Scribi che convien che prima venga Elia?
And the disciples asked and said to him, Why therefore say the scribes that Elia must come first?
11 E Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Elia veramente deve prima venire, e ristabilire ogni cosa.
Jeshu answered and said to them, Elia cometh first that he may fulfil every thing;
12 Ma io vi dico, che Elia è già venuto, ed essi non l'hanno riconosciuto, anzi hanno fatto inverso lui ciò che hanno voluto; così ancora il Figliuol dell'uomo sofferirà da loro.
but I say to you, that, behold, Elia hath come, but they knew him not, and have done to him as they would. So also is the Son of man to suffer from them.
13 Allora i discepoli intesero ch'egli avea loro detto [ciò] di Giovanni Battista.
Then understood the disciples that concerning Juchanon the Baptizer he spake to them.
14 E QUANDO furon venuti alla moltitudine, un uomo gli si accostò, inginocchiandosi davanti a lui,
AND when they came to the multitude, a man approached him and kneeled upon his knees, and said to him,
15 e dicendo: Signore, abbi pietà del mio figliuolo, perciocchè egli [è] lunatico, e malamente tormentato; poichè spesso cade nel fuoco, e spesso nell'acqua.
My Lord, have mercy on me! my son is lunatic and grievously afflicted; for often he falleth into the fire and often into the water.
16 Ed io l'ho presentato a' tuoi discepoli, ma essi non l'hanno potuto guarire.
And I brought him to thy disciples, but they could not heal him.
17 E Gesù, rispondendo, disse: Ahi! generazione incredula e perversa! infino a quando mai sarò con voi? infino a quando mai vi comporterò? conducetemelo qua.
Jeshu answered and said, O unbelieving and perverse generation! how long shall I be with you, how long shall I bear with you? Bring him hither to me.
18 E Gesù sgridò il demonio, ed egli uscì fuor di lui; e da quell'ora il fanciullo fu guarito.
And Jeshu rebuked him, and the demon went forth from him, and the youth was healed from that hour.
19 Allora i discepoli, accostatisi a Gesù in disparte, dissero: Perchè non abbiam noi potuto cacciarlo?
Then came the disciples to Jeshu by himself, and said to him, Why were we not able to heal him?
20 E Gesù disse loro: Per la vostra incredulità; perciocchè io vi dico in verità, che se avete di fede quant'è un granel di senape, voi direte a questo monte: Passa di qui a là, ed esso vi passerà; e niente vi sarà impossibile.
Jeshu saith to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I tell you, if there were in you faith as a grain of mustard, you should say to this mountain, Pass hence, and it would pass away; and nothing should overcome you.
21 Or questa generazione [di demoni] non esce fuori, se non per orazione, e per digiuno.
But this kind goeth not forth but by fasting and by prayer.
22 Ora, mentre essi conversavano nella Galilea, Gesù disse loro: Egli avverrà che il Figliuol dell'uomo sarà dato nelle mani degli uomini; ed essi l'uccideranno;
WHEN they had returned into Galila, Jeshu said to them, It is coming that the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men,
23 ma nel terzo giorno egli risusciterà. Ed essi ne furono grandemente contristati.
and they shall kill him; and in the third day he shall arise. And it grieved them exceedingly.
24 E QUANDO furon venuti in Capernaum, coloro che ricoglievano le didramme vennero a Pietro, e dissero: Il vostro Maestro non paga egli le didramme?
And when they came to Kapher-nachum, they who took the two zuzis, the head-silver, approached Kipha and said to him, Your master, doth he not give his two zuzeen?
25 Egli disse: Sì. E quando egli fu entrato in casa, Gesù lo prevenne, dicendo: Che ti pare, Simone? da cui prendono i re della terra i tributi, o il censo? da' figliuoli loro, o dagli stranieri?
He saith to them, Yes. And when Kipha entered the house, Jeshu anticipated him, and said to him, How doth it appear to thee, Shemun? the kings of the earth, from whom do they take custom and headsilver, from their children, or from aliens?
26 Pietro gli disse: Dagli stranieri. Gesù gli disse: Dunque i figliuoli son franchi.
Shemun saith to him, From aliens: Jeshu saith to him, Then the children are free.
27 Ma, acciocchè noi non li scandalezziamo, vattene al mare, e getta l'amo, e togli il primo pesce che salirà fuori, ed aprigli la gola, e tu vi troverai uno statere; prendilo e dallo loro, per te, e per me.
But that we may not offend them, go to the sea, and cast the hook; and the fish that first cometh up, open his mouth; and thou shalt find a stater, that take and present for me and thee.
