2 Corinzi 8
1 ORA, fratelli, noi vi facciamo assapere la grazia di Dio, ch'è stata data nelle chiese della Macedonia;
We doe you also to wit, brethren, of the grace of God bestowed vpon the Churches of Macedonia,
2 [cioè: ] che in molta prova d'afflizione, l'abbondanza della loro allegrezza, e la lor profonda provertà è abbondata nelle ricchezze della loro liberalità.
Because in great triall of affliction their ioy abounded, and their most extreme pouertie abounded vnto their rich liberalitie.
3 Poichè, secondo il poter [loro], io [ne] rendo testimonianza, anzi, sopra il poter [loro, sono stati] volonterosi.
For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyonde their power, they were willing,
4 Pregandoci, con molti conforti, d'accettar la grazia, e la comunione di questa sovvenzione che [è] per li santi.
And praied vs with great instance that we woulde receiue the grace, and fellowship of the ministring which is toward the Saints.
5 Ed [hanno fatto], non [solo] come speravamo; ma imprima si son donati loro stessi al Signore; ed a noi, per la volontà di Dio.
And this they did, not as we looked for: but gaue their owne selues, first to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the will of God,
6 Talchè noi abbiamo esortato Tito che, come innanzi ha cominciato, così ancora compia eziandio presso voi questa grazia.
That we should exhort Titus, that as hee had begon, so he would also accomplish the same grace among you also.
7 Ma, come voi abbondate in ogni cosa, in fede, e in parola, ed in conoscenza, e in ogni studio, e nella carità vostra inverso noi; [fate] che abbondiate ancora in questa grazia.
Therefore, as yee abound in euery thing, in faith and woorde, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue towardes vs, euen so see that yee abound in this grace also.
8 Io non [lo] dico per comandamento; ma per lo studio degli altri, facendo prova ancora della schiettezza della vostra carità.
This say I not by commandement, but because of the diligence of others: therefore prooue I the naturalnesse of your loue.
9 Perciocchè voi sapete la grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, come, essendo ricco, si è fatto povero per voi; acciocchè voi arricchiste per la sua povertà.
For ye knowe the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that hee being rich, for your sakes became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be made rich.
10 E do consiglio in questo; perciocchè questo è utile a voi, i quali non soltanto avete cominciato a fare, ma già ne avevate l'intenzione, fin dall'anno passato.
And I shewe my minde herein: for this is expedient for you, which haue begun not to doe onely, but also to will, a yeare agoe.
11 Ora, compiete dunque eziandio il fare; acciocchè, come [vi è stata] la prontezza del volere, così ancora [vi sia] il compiere secondo il [vostro] avere.
Nowe therefore performe to doe it also, that as there was a readinesse to will, euen so yee may performe it of that which yee haue.
12 Perciocchè, se vi è la prontezza dell'animo, uno è accettevole secondo ciò ch'egli ha, e non secondo ciò ch'egli non ha.
For if there be first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
13 Poichè [questo] non [si fa] acciocchè vi sia alleggiamento per altri, ed aggravio per voi; ma, per far par pari, al tempo presente le vostra abbondanza [sarà impiegata a] sovvenire alla loro inopia.
Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke:
14 Acciocchè altresì la loro abbondanza sia [impiegata a sovvenire] alla vostra inopia; affinchè vi sia ugualità; secondo che è scritto:
That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie:
15 Chi [ne avea raccolto] assai, non n'ebbe di soverchio; e chi poco, non n'ebbe mancamento.
As it is written, Hee that gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that gathered litle, had not the lesse.
16 Ora, ringraziato sia Iddio, che ha messo nel cuor di Tito lo stesso studio per voi.
And thanks be vnto God, which hath put in the heart of Titus the same care for you.
17 Poichè egli ha accettata l'esortazione; e in gran diligenza si è volonterosamente messo in cammino, [per andare] a voi.
Because hee accepted the exhortation, yea, hee was so carefull that of his owne accorde hee went vnto you.
18 Or noi abbiam mandato con lui questo fratello, la cui lode nell'evangelo [è] per tutte le chiese.
And wee haue sent also with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout al the Churches.
19 E non sol [questo]; ma ancora è stato dalle chiese eletto, [per esser] nostro compagno di viaggio con questa sovvenzione, ch'è da noi amministrata alla gloria del Signore stesso, ed al [servigio del]la prontezza dell'animo vostro;
(And not so onely, but is also chosen of the Churches to be a fellowe in our iourney, concerning this grace that is ministred by vs vnto the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your prompt minde)
20 schivando noi questo: che niuno ci biasimi in quest'abbondanza, che è da noi amministrata;
Auoiding this, that no man shoulde blame vs in this aboundance that is ministred by vs,
21 procurando cose oneste, non solo nel cospetto del Signore, ma ancora nel cospetto degli uomini.
Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men.
22 Or noi abbiam mandato con loro questo nostro fratello, il quale abbiamo spesse volte, in molte cose, sperimentato esser diligente, ed ora lo è molto più, per la molta confidanza [che si ha] di voi.
And we haue sent with them our brother, whom we haue oft times prooued to be diligent in many thinges, but nowe much more diligent, for the great confidence, which I haue in you.
23 Quant'è a Tito, [egli è] mio consorte, e compagno d'opera inverso voi; quant'è a' fratelli, [sono] apostoli delle chiese, gloria di Cristo.
Whether any doe inquire of Titus, he is my fellowe and helper to you ward: or of our brethren, they are messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ.
24 Dimostrate adunque inverso loro, nel cospetto delle chiese, la prova della vostra carità, e di ciò che ci gloriamo di voi.
Wherefore shew toward them, and before the Churches the proofe of your loue, and of the reioycing that we haue of you.
