Dagiti Proverbio 25
1 Dagitoy dagiti dadduma pay a nainsiriban a sasao ni Solomon nga insurat dagiti tattao ni Ezekias nga ari ti Juda.
These [are] also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
2 Pakaitan-okan ti Dios ti panangilimedna iti maysa a banag, ngem pakaidayawan dagiti ari ti mangsukimat iti daytoy.
[It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings [is] to search out a matter.
3 Kas kangato dagiti langit a nangato ken kauneg ti daga, kasta ti kaiyarigan ti panangsukimat iti puso dagiti ari.
The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings [is] unsearchable.
4 Ikkatem ti lati iti pirak, tapno mabalin nga aramaten ti mammanday ti pirak.
Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.
5 Kasta met nga ikkatem dagiti nadangkes a tattao iti imatang ti ari ket mapatibkerto ti tronona babaen iti panangaramidna iti umno.
Take away the wicked [from] before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
6 Saanmo nga itan-ok ti bagim iti imatang ti ari ken saanka nga agtakder iti disso a para laeng kadagiti natatakneng a tattao.
Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great [men: ]
7 Nasaysayaat nga ibagana kenka nga, “Umaykadtoy,” ngem iti maibabainka iti sangoanan ti natakneng a tao. Ti nasaksiam,
For better [it is] that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.
8 ket saanmo a dagus nga ipausig. Ta anianto ngay ti maaramidam no sikanto ti ibabain ti kaarrubam iti dayta a nasaksiam?
Go not forth hastily to strive, lest [thou know not] what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
9 Pagiinnadalanyo ti saanyo a pagkinnaawatan iti kaarrubam a dakdakayo laeng ket saanmo nga ipakaammo dayta a palimed iti sabali,
Debate thy cause with thy neighbour [himself; ] and discover not a secret to another:
10 ta no saan ket amangan no ibabainnakanto ti makangngeg ket mangiwarasto iti saan a nasayaat a maipanggep kenka ket saanto dayta a mapasardeng.
Lest he that heareth [it] put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.
11 Ti panangibaga iti nasasayaat a sao ket kas iti balitok a naikabil iti pirak.
A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.
12 Ti nasirib a panangtubngar iti maysa a dumdumngeg ket kasla balitok a singsing wenno alahas a naaramid manipud iti kapipintasan a balitok.
[As] an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, [so is] a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
13 Ti napudno a mensahero ket mangipapaay iti nasayaat a rikna iti nangibaon kenkuana a kas iti lammiis ti niebe iti tiempo ti panagaapit.
As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [so is] a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
14 Kas kadagiti ulep ken angin nga awan tudona ti kaiyarigan ti tao a mangipaspasindayag iti sagut a saanna met kadi nga ited.
Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift [is like] clouds and wind without rain.
15 Babaen iti kinaanus, mabalinka a makaallukoy iti turay, ken ti nalukneng a dila ket arigna a mabalin a makatukkol iti tulang.
By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
16 No makasarakka iti diro, manganka laeng iti apagisu-ta no mapalalluam, isarwamto met laeng.
Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.
17 Saanmo a kanayon nga ibaddek ta sakam iti balay ti kaarrubam ta amangan no mauma kenka ket guraennaka.
Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and [so] hate thee.
18 Ti tao a mangibagbaga iti palso a pammaneknek maibusor iti karrubana ket kasla igam a mausar iti gubat, wenno maysa a kampilan, wenno maysa a natirad a pana.
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour [is] a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
19 Ti saan a napudno a tao a pagtaltalkam iti tiempo pannakariribuk ket arigna ti nadadael a ngipen wenno saka a maikagkaglis.
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble [is like] a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
20 Ti tao nga ikankantaanna ti maysa a tao a nadagsen ti riknana ket kasla tay tao a mangus-ussob iti kawesna iti tiempo ti lammin, wenno kasla suka a naibukbok iti sugat.
[As] he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, [and as] vinegar upon nitre, so [is] he that singeth songs to an heavy heart.
21 No mabisbisin ti kabusormo, ikkam isuna iti taraon a kanenna, ken no mawaw isuna, ikkam iti danum nga inumenna,
If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
22 ta arigna a mangpalaka kadagiti beggang nga ikabilmo ti ulona, ket gunggunaannakanto ni Yahweh.
For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
23 Ti kaiyarigan ti tao a mangpaunget kadagiti tattao ket kas iti angin manipud iti amianan a sigurado a mangiyeg iti tudo.
The north wind driveth away rain: so [doth] an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
24 Nasaysayaat ti agnaed iti suli ti tuktok ti balay ngem ti makikabbalay iti babai a mannakiapa.
[It is] better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.
25 Ti pakaiyarigan ti nasayaat a damag manipud iti adayo a pagilian ket kas iti nalammiis a danum iti tao a mawaw.
[As] cold waters to a thirsty soul, so [is] good news from a far country.
26 Ti naimbag a tao nga agdiwerdiwer iti sangoanan dagiti nadangkes a tattao ket kas iti saan a mapagnumaran nga ubbog wenno nadadael a burayok.
A righteous man falling down before the wicked [is as] a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
27 Saan a nasayaat ti mangan iti adu unay a diro; dayta ket kasla panangbirbirok iti adu a pakaitan-okan.
[It is] not good to eat much honey: so [for men] to search their own glory [is not] glory.
28 Ti tao nga awanan panagteppel ket maiyarig iti siudad a nadadael ken awan paderna.
He that [hath] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls.
