Lúkas 22
1 Nú voru páskarnir í nánd. Þeir eru mesta hátíð Gyðinga og þá eru einungis borðuð ósýrð brauð.
The feaste of swete breed drue nye whiche is called ester
2 Æðstu prestarnir og fræðimennirnir voru að velta því fyrir sér hvernig þeir gætu ráðið Jesú af dögum. En þeir óttuðust að fólkið svaraði með því að gera uppreisn.
and the hye prestes and Scribes sought how to kyll him but they feared the people.
3 Þegar þetta var fór Satan í Júdas Ískaríot, einn af þeim tólf.
Then entred Satan into Iudas whose syr name was Iscariot (which was of the nombre of the twelve)
4 Júdas kom að máli við æðstu prestana og varðstjóra musterisins til að ræða um hvernig hann ætti að koma Jesú í hendur þeirra.
and he went his waye and comuned with the hye Prestes and officers how he might betraye him to them.
5 Þeir urðu glaðir þegar þeir heyrðu að hann væri fús að hjálpa þeim og hétu honum launum.
And they were glad: and promysed to geve him money.
6 Upp frá þessu beið Júdas eftir hentugu tækifæri til að handtaka Jesú í kyrrþey þegar fólkið væri hvergi nærri.
And he consented and sought oportunite to betraye him vnto them when the people were awaye.
7 Dagurinn fyrir páska rann upp – dagur ósýrðu brauðanna – en þá átti að slátra páskalambinu og borða það með ósýrða brauðinu.
Then came ye daye of swete breed when of necessite the esterlambe must be offered.
8 Jesús sendi Pétur og Jóhannes af stað til að finna húsnæði þar sem þeir gætu undirbúið páskamáltíðina.
And he sent Peter and Iohn sayinge: Goo and prepare vs the ester lambe that we maye eate.
9 „Hvert viltu að við förum?“spurðu þeir.
They sayde to him. Where wilt thou yt we prepare?
10 „Þegar þið komið inn í Jerúsalem, “svaraði Jesús, „mun mæta ykkur maður sem ber vatnskrús. Fylgið honum eftir þangað sem hann fer
And he sayd vnto them. Beholde when ye be entred into the cite ther shall a man mete you bearinge a pitcher of water him folowe into the same housse yt he entreth in
11 og segið húsráðanda þar: „Við erum með skilaboð frá meistara okkar, um að þú sýnir okkur herbergið þar sem hann geti snætt páskamáltíðina með lærisveinum sínum.“
and saye vnto ye good ma of ye housse. The master sayeth vnto ye: where is ye gest chamber where I shall eate myne ester lambe wt my disciples?
12 Þá mun hann fara með ykkur upp í stórt herbergi sem okkur er ætlað. Það er staðurinn. Farið nú og undirbúið máltíðina.“
And he shall shew you a greate parloure paved. Ther make redy.
13 Þeir fóru til borgarinnar og fundu allt eins og Jesús hafði sagt og undirbjuggu páskamáltíðina.
And they wet and foude as he had sayd vnto the: and made redy ye ester lambe.
14 Á tilsettum tíma kom Jesús og settist til borðs og postularnir með honum.
And when the houre was come he sate doune and the twelve Apostles with him.
15 Hann sagði: „Ég hef innilega þráð að neyta þessarar páskamáltíðar með ykkur áður en ég líð,
And he sayde vnto them: I have inwardly desyred to eate this ester lambe with you before yt I suffre.
16 því að það segi ég ykkur að ég mun ekki neyta hennar aftur, fyrr en hún fullkomnast í guðsríki.“
For I saye vnto you: hence forthe I will not eate of it eny moore vntill it be fulfilled in the kingdome of God.
17 Þá tók Jesús bikar, flutti þakkarbæn og sagði: „Takið þetta og skiptið því á milli ykkar.
And he toke the cup and gave thankes and sayde. Take this and devyde it amonge you.
18 Ég mun ekki drekka vín á ný fyrr en guðsríki er komið.“
For I saye vnto you: I will not drinke of the frute of the vyne vntill the kingdome of God be come.
19 Og hann tók brauð, þakkaði Guði og braut það í sundur, fékk þeim og sagði: „Þetta er líkami minn, sem fyrir ykkur er gefinn, gerið þetta í mína minningu.“
And he toke breed gave thankes and gave to them sayinge: This is my body which is geven for you. This do in the remembraunce of me.
20 Á sama hátt tók hann bikarinn eftir kvöldmáltíðina og mælti: „Þessi bikar er hinn nýi sáttmáli í mínu blóði sem fyrir ykkur er úthellt.
Lykewyse also when they had supped he toke the cup sayinge: This cup is the newe testament in my bloud which shall for you be shedde.
21 Sá er svíkur mig, situr hér til borðs með mér.
Yet beholde the honde of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 Að vísu verð ég að deyja, það er liður í áætlun Guðs, en vei þeim manni sem veldur því að ég verð framseldur.“
And ye sonne of man goeth as it is appoynted: But wo be to yt man by whom he is betrayed.
23 Þá fóru lærisveinarnir að þrátta sín á milli um það hver þeirra gæti fengið sig til slíks,
And they began to enquyre amoge them selves which of them it shuld be that shuld do that.
24 og líka um það hver þeirra gæti talist mestur.
And ther was a stryfe amoge the which of them shuld be taken for the greatest.
25 Þá sagði Jesús: „Konungar þjóðanna drottna yfir þeim og þeir sem láta menn kenna á valdi sínu eru nefndir velgjörðamenn.
And he sayde vnto them: the kynges of the getyls raygne over them and they that beare rule over them are called gracious lordes.
26 En meðal ykkar er sá mestur sem þjónar hinum.
But ye shall not be so. But he that is greatest amonge you shalbe as the yongest: and he that is chefe shalbe as the minister.
27 Í heiminum er það foringinn sem situr við borðið og þjónar hans ganga um beina. En hjá okkur er þetta öðruvísi. Ég þjóna ykkur.
For whether is greater he that sitteth at meate: or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meate? And I am amoge you as he that ministreth.
28 Þið hafið ekki brugðist mér þennan erfiða tíma.
Ye are they which have bidden with me in my temptacions.
29 En eins og faðir minn hefur gefið mér ríki sitt, eins gef ég ykkur það svo að þið getið
And I apoynt vnto you a kyngdome as my father hath appoynted to me:
30 etið og drukkið við borð mitt í ríki mínu. Þið munuð sitja í hásætum og dæma hinar tólf ættkvíslir Ísraels.
that ye maye eate and drynke at my table in my kyngdome and sit on seates and iudge the twelve tribes of Israell.
31 Símon, Símon, Satan krafðist þín til að sigta þig eins og hveiti,
And the Lorde sayde: Simon Simon beholde Satan hath desired you to sifte you as it were wheate:
32 en ég hef beðið þess að trú þína þrjóti ekki að fullu og öllu. Styrk þú bræður þína þegar þú hefur iðrast og snúið aftur til mín.“
bnt I have prayed for the that thy faith fayle not. And when thou arte converted strengthe thy brethre.
33 Símon svaraði: „Drottinn, ég er reiðubúinn að fara með þér í fangelsi og jafnvel deyja með þér.“
And he sayd vnto him. Lorde I am redy to go with the in to preson and to deth.
34 „Pétur, “svaraði Jesús, „ég skal segja þér nokkuð. Haninn mun ekki gala í dag fyrr en þú hefur þrisvar neitað því að þú þekkir mig.“
And he sayde: I tell the Peter the cocke shall not crowe this daye tyll thou have thryse denyed yt thou knewest me.
35 Og Jesús hélt áfram og sagði: „Þegar ég sendi ykkur í predikunarferðir, peningalausa, nestislausa og án þess að þið hefðuð skó til skiptanna, skorti ykkur þá nokkuð?“„Nei, ekkert, “svöruðu þeir.
And he sayde vnto them: when I sent you with out wallet and scripe and shoes? lacked ye eny thinge? And they sayd no.
36 „En núna“sagði hann, „skuluð þið taka með ykkur nestispoka, ef þið eigið, og peninga. Ef þið eigið ekkert sverð, þá seljið jafnvel fötin ykkar til að geta keypt sverð.
And he sayde to them: but nowe he that hath a wallet let him take it vp and lykewyse his scrippe. And he that hath no swearde let him sell his coote and bye one.
37 Þetta segi ég, því að nú er þessi spádómur að rætast: „Hann mun dæmdur sem afbrotamaður.“Allt sem spámennirnir skrifuðu um mig mun rætast.“
For I saye vnto you that yet that which is written must be performed in me: even with the wycked was he nombred. For those thinges which are written of me have an ende.
38 „Meistari“svöruðu þeir, „við höfum hérna tvö sverð.“„Það er nóg, “svaraði hann.
And they sayde: Lorde beholde here are two sweardes. And he sayde vnto them: it is ynough.
39 Síðan yfirgaf Jesús loftherbergið í fylgd lærisveinanna og fór eftir venju út til Olíufjallsins.
And he came out and went as he was wote to mounte olivete. And the disciples folowed him.
40 Þegar þangað kom sagði hann: „Biðjið Guð að þið fallið ekki í freistni.“
And when he came to the place he sayde to the: praye lest ye fall into temptacio.
41 Hann fór spölkorn frá þeim, kraup niður og bað: „Faðir, ef þú vilt, þá taktu þennan bikar frá mér. Verði þó ekki minn vilji, heldur þinn.“
And he gate him selfe from them about a stones cast and kneled doune and prayed
sayinge: Father yf thou wilt withdrawe this cup fro me. Neverthelesse not my will but thyne be be fulfilled.
43 Þá birtist honum engill af himni sem styrkti hann.
And ther appered an angell vnto him from heaven confortinge him.
44 Því að hann var í slíkri dauðans angist að sviti hans varð eins og blóðdropar sem féllu á jörðina og bæn hans varð enn ákafari.
And he was in an agonye and prayed somwhat longer. And hys sweate was lyke droppes of bloud tricklynge doune to the grounde.
45 Að lokum stóð hann upp, gekk til lærisveinanna og fann þá sofandi. Þeir höfðu sofnað af þreytu og hryggð.
And he rose vp from prayer and came to his disciples and foude them slepinge for sorowe
46 „Hví sofið þið?“spurði hann, „Rísið upp og biðjið þess að þið fallið ekki fyrir freistingunni.“
and sayde vnto them: Why slepe ye? Ryse and praye lest ye fall into temptacion.
47 Hann hafði ekki sleppt orðinu, er hóp manna bar þar að. Fremstur gekk Júdas, einn postulanna. Hann gekk til Jesú og kyssti hann vingjarnlega á kinnina.
Whill he yet spake: beholde ther came a company and he that was called Iudas one of the twelve wet before them and preased nye vnto Iesus to kysse him.
48 Jesús sagði við hann: „Júdas, svíkur þú mig með kossi.“
And Iesus sayd vnto him: Iudas betrayest thou ye sonne of man with a kysse?
49 Þegar lærisveinarnir ellefu skildu hvað um var að vera, hrópuðu þeir: „Meistari, eigum við að berjast? Við tókum sverðin með okkur.“
When they which were about him sawe what wolde folow they sayde vnto him. Lorde shall we smite with swearde.
50 Einn þeirra brá sverði og hjó hægra eyrað af þjóni æðsta prestsins.
And one of them smote a servaut of ye hiest preste of all and smote of his right eare.
51 En Jesús sagði: „Sýnið enga frekari mótstöðu.“Síðan snerti hann sárið og læknaði eyrað.
And Iesus answered and sayd: Soffre ye thus farre forthe. And he touched his eare and healed him.
52 Jesús sneri sér nú að æðstu prestunum, varðforingjum musterisins og trúarleiðtogum, sem fremstir stóðu, og spurði: „Er ég þá ræningi? Hvers vegna komið þið með sverð og kylfur til að handsama mig?
Then Iesus sayde vnto the hye prestes and rulers of the temple and the elders which were come to him. Be ye come out as vnto a thefe with sweardes and staves?
53 Af hverju handtókuð þið mig ekki í musterinu? Þar var ég daglega. En þetta er ykkar tími og vald myrkraaflanna.“
When I was dayly with you in the teple ye stretched not forth hondes agaynst me. But this is even youre very houre and the power of darcknes.
54 Þá gripu þeir Jesú og leiddu til bústaðar æðsta prestsins. Pétur fylgdi í humátt á eftir.
Then toke they him and ledde him and brought him to the hye prestes housse. And peter folowed a farre of.
55 Hermennirnir kveiktu bál í húsagarðinum og settust umhverfis það til að hlýja sér, en Pétur smeygði sér inn í hópinn svo lítið bar á.
When they had kyndled a fyre in the middes of the palys and were set doune to geder Peter also sate doune amonge them.
56 Við bjarmann frá eldinum tók ein þjónustustúlkan eftir honum og gaf honum nánar gætur. Loks sagði hún: „Þessi maður var með Jesú.“
And wone of the wenches behelde him as he sate by the fyer and set good eyesight on him and sayde: this same was also with him.
57 „Nei, kona góð, “svaraði Pétur, „þann mann þekki ég alls ekki.“
Then he denyed hym sayinge: woman I knowe him not
58 Stuttu seinna tók einhver annar eftir honum og sagði: „Þú hlýtur að vera einn af þeim.“„Nei, herra minn, það er ég ekki, “svaraði Pétur.
And after a lytell whyle another sawe him and sayde: thou arte also of them. And Peter sayd man I am not.
59 Um það bil klukkustundu síðar fullyrti enn einn þetta og sagði: „Ég veit að þessi maður er einn af lærisveinum Jesú, því að þeir eru báðir frá Galíleu.“
And aboute the space of an houre after another affirmed sayinge: verely even this felowe was with hym for he is of Galile
60 „Góði maður“svaraði Pétur, „ég skil bara alls ekki hvað þú ert að tala um.“En áður en hann hafði sleppt orðinu gól hani.
and Peter sayde: ma I woote not what thou sayest. And immediatly whyll he yet spake the cocke crewe.
61 Á sömu stundu sneri Jesús sér við og leit til Péturs. Þá minntist Pétur orða Jesú: „Áður en haninn galar í dag, muntu þrisvar afneita mér.“
And the Lorde tourned backe and loked apon Peter. And Peter remembred the wordes of the Lorde how he sayde vnto him before ye cocke crowe thou shalt denye me thryse.
62 Þá gekk Pétur út fyrir og grét sárt.
And Peter went out and wepte bitterly.
63 Verðirnir sem gættu Jesú, tóku nú að hæða hann. Þeir bundu fyrir augu hans, slógu hann með hnefunum og spurðu: „Hver sló þig núna, spámaður?“
And the men that stode about Iesus mocked him and smoote him
and blyndfolded him and smoote his face. And axed him sayinge: arede who it is that smoote ye?
65 Síðan smánuðu þeir hann á allan hátt.
And many other thinges despytfullye sayd they agaynst him.
66 Í morgunsárið kom hæstiréttur Gyðinga saman. Í honum voru meðal annars æðstu prestarnir og aðrir trúarleiðtogar þjóðarinnar. Jesús var nú leiddur fram fyrir þetta ráð
And assone as it was daye the elders of the people and the hye prestes and scribes came to gedder and ledde him into their counsell sayinge:
67 og spurður hvort hann héldi því fram að hann væri Kristur. „Þó ég segi ykkur það“svaraði hann, „þá trúið þið mér ekki og munuð ekki heldur leyfa mér að flytja mál mitt.
arte thou very Christ? tell vs. And he sayde vnto the: yf I shall tell you ye will not beleve
And yf also I axe you ye will not answere me or let me goo.
69 En innan skamms mun ég, Kristur, setjast í hásæti við hlið almáttugs Guðs.“
Herafter shall the sonne of man sit on the ryght honde of the power of God.
70 „Með þessu ertu að fullyrða að þú sért sonur Guðs, “hrópuðu þeir. „Já“svaraði hann, „ég er hann.“
Then sayde they all: Arte thou then the sonne of God? He sayd to them: ye saye yt I am.
71 „Við þurfum ekki fleiri vitni!“æptu þeir. „Við höfum sjálfir heyrt hann segja það.“
Then sayde they: what nede we eny further witnes? We oure selves have herde of his awne mouthe.
