રોમનોને પત્ર 15

1 ૧ હવે નિર્બળોની નબળાઈને ચલાવી લેવી અને પોતાની ખુશી પ્રમાણે ન કરવું, એ આપણ શક્તિમાનોની ફરજ છે.

Those of us who are spiritually strong ought to support those who are spiritually weak. We shouldn't just please ourselves.

2 ૨ આપણામાંના દરેકે પોતાના પડોશીને તેના કલ્યાણને માટે તેની ઉન્નતિને અર્થે ખુશ કરવો.

We should all encourage others to do what's morally right, building them up.

3 ૩ કેમ કે ખ્રિસ્ત પોતે પણ મનસ્વી રીતે વર્તતા ન હતા, પણ જેમ લખ્યું છે કે, ‘તારી નિંદા કરનારાઓની નિંદા મારા પર પડી.’”

Christ didn't live to please himself, but as Scripture says of him, “The insults of those who abused you have fallen on me.”

4 ૪ કેમ કે જેટલું અગાઉ લખેલું હતું, તે આપણને શિખામણ મળે તે માટે લખવામાં આવ્યું હતું કે, ધીરજથી તથા પવિત્રશાસ્ત્રમાંના દિલાસાથી આપણે આશા રાખીએ.

These Scriptures were written down in the past to help us understand, and to encourage us so that we could wait patiently in hope.

5 ૫ તમે એક ચિત્તે તથા એક અવાજે, ઈશ્વરનો, એટલે આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પિતાનો મહિમા પ્રગટ કરો

May the God who gives patience and encouragement help you to be in full agreement among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

6 ૬ એ માટે ધીરજ તથા દિલાસો દેનાર ઈશ્વર તમને એવું વરદાન આપો કે તમે ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુને અનુસરીને અંદરોઅંદર એક જ મનના થાઓ.

so that you can with one mind and with one voice together glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

7 ૭ માટે, ખ્રિસ્તે જેમ ઈશ્વરના મહિમાને અર્થે તમારો સ્વીકાર કર્યો, તેમ તમે પણ એકબીજાનો સ્વીકાર કરો.

So accept one another, just as Christ accepted you, and give God the glory.

8 ૮ વળી હું કહું છું કે, જે વચનો પૂર્વજોને આપેલાં હતાં, તેઓને તે સત્ય ઠરાવે,

I maintain that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show God tells the truth, keeping the promises he made to their forefathers.

9 ૯ અને વળી વિદેશીઓ પણ તેની દયાને લીધે ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા પ્રગટ કરે, એ માટે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત ઈશ્વરના સત્યને લીધે સુન્નતીઓના સેવક થયા. લખેલું છે કે, એ કારણ માટે હું વિદેશીઓમાં તમારી સ્તુતિ કરીશ અને તમારા નામનું ગીત ગાઈશ.

He also came that foreigners could praise God for his mercy, as Scripture says, “Therefore I will praise you among the foreigners; I will sing praises to your name.”

10 ૧૦ વળી તે કહે છે કે, ઓ બિનયહૂદીઓ, તમે તેના લોકોની સાથે આનંદ કરો.

And also: “Foreigners, celebrate with his people!”

11 ૧૧ વળી, હે સર્વ બિનયહૂદીઓ પ્રભુની સ્તુતિ કરો અને સર્વ લોકો તેમનું સ્તવન કરો.

And again: “All you foreigners, praise the Lord, let all peoples praise him.”

12 ૧૨ વળી યશાયા કહે છે કે, યિશાઈની જડ, એટલે બિનયહૂદીઓ ઉપર રાજ કરવાને જે ઊભા થવાનાં છે, તે થશે; તેના પર બિનયહૂદીઓ આશા રાખશે.

And again, Isaiah says, “Jesse's descendant will come to rule the nations, and foreigners will put their hope in him.”

13 ૧૩ હવે ઈશ્વર કે, જેમનાં પર તમે આશા રાખો છો, તે તમને વિશ્વાસ રાખવામાં અખંડ હર્ષ તથા શાંતિ વડે ભરપૂર કરો, જેથી પવિત્ર આત્માની શક્તિથી તમારી આશા વૃદ્ધિ પામે.

May the God of hope completely fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you will overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit!

14 ૧૪ ઓ મારા ભાઈઓ, મને તમારા વિષે પૂરી ખાતરી છે કે તમે પોતે સંપૂર્ણ ભલા, સર્વ જ્ઞાનસંપન્ન અને એકબીજાને ચેતવણી આપવાને શક્તિમાન છો.

I'm convinced that you, my brothers and sisters, are full of goodness, and that you are filled with every kind of knowledge, so you are well able to teach one another.

15 ૧૫ તે છતાં બિનયહૂદીઓ પવિત્ર આત્માથી પાવન થઈને માન્ય અર્પણ થાય માટે ઈશ્વરની સુવાર્તાનો યાજક થઈને હું બિનયહૂદીઓ પ્રત્યે ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુનો સેવક થાઉં,

I've been blunt in the way I have written to you about some of these things, but this is just to remind you. For God gave me grace

16 ૧૬ એ કારણથી ઈશ્વરે મને જે કૃપાદાન આપ્યું છે, તેને આધારે તમને ફરીથી સહેજ યાદ કરાવવાં માટે વિશેષ હિંમત રાખીને મેં આ પત્ર તમારા પર લખ્યો છે.

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the foreigners, like a priest sharing God's good news, so that they could become an acceptable offering, made holy by the Holy Spirit.

17 ૧૭ તેથી ઈશ્વરને અર્થે કરેલાં કાર્યો સંબંધી મને ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં ગૌરવ કરવાનું પ્રયોજન છે.

So even though I have something to boast about because of my service for God,

18 ૧૮ કેમ કે પવિત્ર આત્માનાં પરાક્રમથી, વાણી અને કાર્ય વડે ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો તથા આશ્ચર્યકર્મોના પ્રભાવથી બિનયહૂદીઓને આજ્ઞાંકિત કરવા માટે ખ્રિસ્તે જે કામો મારી પાસે કરાવ્યાં છે, તે સિવાય બીજાં કોઈ કામો વિષે બોલવાની હિંમત હું કરીશ નહિ;

(I wouldn't dare talk about any of this except as Christ has done it through me), I have led foreigners to obedience through my teaching and demonstration,

19 ૧૯ એટલે યરુશાલેમથી રવાના થઈને ફરતાં ફરતાં છેક ઇલુરીકમ સુધી મેં ખ્રિસ્તની સુવાર્તા સંપૂર્ણ રીતે પ્રગટ કરી છે એ વિષે જ હું બોલીશ.

through the power of signs and miracles done with the Holy Spirit's power. From Jerusalem all the way over to Illyricum, everywhere I've shared fully the good news of Christ.

20 ૨૦ એવી રીતે તો સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરવામાં મેં એવો નિયમ રાખ્યો છે કે, જ્યાં ખ્રિસ્તનું નામ જાણવામાં આવ્યું હતું ત્યાં બોધ કરવો નહિ, રખેને બીજાના પાયા પર હું બાંધું;

In fact I was keen to spread the good news in places that hadn't heard the name of Christ, so that I wouldn't be building on what others have done.

21 ૨૧ લખેલું છે કે ‘જેઓને તેમના સંબંધી જાણકારી મળી ન હતી તેઓ જોશે અને જેઓએ સાંભળ્યું ન હતું તેઓ સમજશે.’”

As Scripture says, “Those who haven't been told the good news will discover him, and those who haven't heard will understand.”

22 ૨૨ તે જ કારણથી તમારી પાસે આવવામાં મને આટલી બધી વાર લાગી છે.

That's why I was prevented so many times from coming to see you.

23 ૨૩ પણ હવે આ પ્રદેશમાં મારે કોઈ સ્થળ બાકી રહેલું નથી અને ઘણાં વર્ષથી તમારી પાસે આવવાની અભિલાષા હું ધરાવું છું.

But now, as there's nowhere left here to work, and since I've looked forward to visiting you for many years,

24 ૨૪ માટે જયારે હું સ્પેન જઈશ ત્યારે હું તમારી પાસે આવીશ; કેમ કે મને આશા છે કે ત્યાં જતા હું તમને મળીશ અને પ્રથમ તમારી સંગતથી કેટલેક દરજ્જે સંતોષ પામ્યા પછી ત્યાં જવા માટે તમારી વિદાયગીરી લઈશ.

when I go to Spain I hope to see you when I pass through. Maybe you can give me some help for my journey once we've enjoyed some time together.

25 ૨૫ પણ હાલ તો હું સંતોની સેવામાં યરુશાલેમ જાઉં છું.

At the moment I'm on my way to Jerusalem to help the believers there,

26 ૨૬ કેમ કે યરુશાલેમના સંતોમાં જેઓ ગરીબ છે, તેઓને માટે કંઈ દાન એકત્ર કરવું, એ મકદોનિયાના તથા અખાયાના ભાઈઓને સારું લાગ્યું.

because the believers in Macedonia and Achaia thought it was a good idea to send a contribution to the poor among the believers in Jerusalem.

27 ૨૭ તેઓને સારું લાગ્યું; અને તેઓ તેમના ઋણીઓ છે. કેમ કે જો બિનયહૂદીઓ તેઓની આત્મિક બાબતોમાં ભાગીદાર થયા, તો સાંસારિક બાબતોમાં તેઓની સેવા કરવી એ તેઓની પણ ફરજ છે.

They were happy to do this because they're in their debt. Now that foreigners are sharing their spiritual benefits, they owe it to the Jewish believers to help them in material things.

28 ૨૮ તેથી એ કામ પૂરું કરીને અને તેઓને માટે તે ફળ અવશ્ય પહોંચાડીને, હું તમને મળીને સ્પેન જઈશ.

So once I've done this, and have safely delivered this contribution to them, I'll visit you on my way to Spain.

29 ૨૯ હું જાણું છું કે હું તમારી પાસે આવીશ ત્યારે હું ખ્રિસ્તનાં સંપૂર્ણ આશીર્વાદો લઈને આવીશ.

I know that when I come, Christ will give us his full blessing.

30 ૩૦ હવે, ભાઈઓ, આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તની ખાતર તથા પવિત્ર આત્માનાં પ્રેમની ખાતર હું તમને વિનંતી કરું છું કે,

I want to encourage you, my brothers and sisters through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to join together in praying hard for me.

31 ૩૧ હું યહૂદિયામાંના અવિશ્વાસીઓના હુમલા થી બચી જાઉં અને યરુશાલેમ જઈને સંતોને સારુ જે સેવા હું બજાવું છું, તે તેમને પસંદ પડે;

Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea. Pray that my work in Jerusalem will be welcomed by the believers there.

32 ૩૨ અને ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છાથી હું આનંદસહિત તમારી પાસે આવું અને તમારી સાથે વિસામો પામું એવી તમે મારે માટે આગ્રહપૂર્વક ઈશ્વરની પ્રાર્થના કરીને મને સહાય કરો.

Pray that I will come to you with gladness, as God wills, so we can enjoy one another's company.

33 ૩૩ હવે શાંતિદાતા ઈશ્વર તમો સર્વની સાથે હો. આમીન.

May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
