કરિંથીઓને પહેલોપત્ર 1

1 ૧ કરિંથમાંના ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયના, જેઓને ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં પવિત્ર કરવામાં આવેલા છે, જેઓને સંતો તરીકે તેડવામાં આવેલા છે તથા જેઓ હરકોઈ સ્થળે આપણા પ્રભુ, એટલે તેઓના તથા આપણા પ્રભુ, ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને નામે પ્રાર્થના કરે છે તે સર્વને,

This letter comes from Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the will of God, and from Sosthenes, our brother.

2 ૨ આપણા ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છાથી ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનો પ્રેરિત થવાને તેડાયેલો પાઉલ તથા ભાઈ સોસ્થનેસ લખે છે.

It is sent to the church of God in Corinth, those who are being made right in Christ Jesus, called to live holy lives—and to everyone who worships the Lord Jesus Christ everywhere, the Lord both of them and of us.

3 ૩ આપણા પિતા ઈશ્વર તરફથી તથા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત તરફથી તમને કૃપા તથા શાંતિ હો.

May you have grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 ૪ ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં ઈશ્વરની જે કૃપા તમને આપવામાં આવી છે, તેને માટે હું તમારા વિષે મારા ઈશ્વરનો આભાર નિત્ય માનું છું;

I'm always thanking God for you because of the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus.

5 ૫ કેમ કે જેમ ખ્રિસ્ત વિષેની અમારી સાક્ષી તમારામાં દ્રઢ થઈ તેમ,

Through him you have been made rich in everything, in all that you say and every aspect of what you know.

6 ૬ સર્વ બોલવામાં તથા સર્વ જ્ઞાનમાં, તમે સર્વ પ્રકારે તેમનાંમાં ભરપૂર થયા.

In fact the testimony of Christ was proved valid in your experience,

7 ૭ જેથી તમે કોઈ પણ કૃપાદાનમાં અપૂર્ણ ન રહેતાં, આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પ્રગટ થવાની રાહ જુઓ છો.

so that you're not missing any spiritual gift as you wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

8 ૮ તમે આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને દિવસે નિર્દોષ માલૂમ પડો, એ માટે તે તમને અંત સુધી દૃઢ રાખશે.

He will also keep you strong to the very end, so you will be kept right until the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.

9 ૯ જે ઈશ્વરે તમને તેમના દીકરા આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તની સંગતમાં તેડેલા છે, તે વિશ્વાસુ છે.

God is trustworthy who called you to share together in fellowship with his son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 ૧૦ હવે, ભાઈઓ, હું આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને નામે તમને વિનંતી કરું છું કે તમે સર્વ દરેક બાબતમાં એકમત થાઓ, તમારામાં પક્ષ પડવા ન દેતાં એક જ મનના તથા એક જ મતના થઈને પૂર્ણ ઐક્યમાં રહો.

Brothers and sisters, I plead with you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you all agree and that you're not divided. Instead develop a united attitude and purpose.

11 ૧૧ મારા ભાઈઓ, આ એટલા માટે કહું છું કે તમારા સંબંધી ક્લોએના ઘરનાં માણસો તરફથી મને ખબર મળી છે કે તમારામાં વાદવિવાદ પડયા છે.

For I have been told things about you, my brothers and sisters, by some of Chloe's people—that you are quarreling among yourselves.

12 ૧૨ એટલે મારા કહેવાનો અર્થ એ છે કે, તમારામાંનો કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો પાઉલનો;’ કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો આપોલસનો’ કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો કેફાનો;’ અને કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો ખ્રિસ્તનો છું.’”

Let me explain what I mean. You're all making different claims: “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Peter,” or “I follow Christ.”

13 ૧૩ શું ખ્રિસ્તનાં ભાગ થયા છે? શું પાઉલ તમારે માટે વધસ્તંભે જડાયો છે? અથવા શું તમે પાઉલના નામે બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા હતા?

Is Christ divided? Did Paul die on a cross for you? Was it in the name of Paul that you were baptized?

14 ૧૪ હું ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરું છું કે, ક્રિસ્પસ તથા ગાયસ સિવાય મેં તમારામાંના કોઈનું બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું નથી.

I'm grateful to God that I didn't baptize any of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

15 ૧૫ રખેને એમ ન થાય કે તમે મારે નામે બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા હતા.

so nobody can claim they were baptized in my name.

16 ૧૬ વળી સ્તેફનના કુટુંબનું પણ મેં બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું હતું; એ સિવાય મેં બીજા કોઈનું બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું હોય, એની મને ખબર નથી.

(Oh, and I also baptized the Stephanas family—I can't think of anyone else.)

17 ૧૭ કારણ કે બાપ્તિસ્મા કરવા માટે નહિ, પણ સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરવા માટે, ખ્રિસ્તે મને મોકલ્યો; એ કામ વિદ્વતાથી ભરેલા પ્રવચનથી નહિ, એમ ન થાય કે ખ્રિસ્તનો વધસ્તંભ નિરર્થક થાય.

For Christ didn't send me out to baptize, but to spread the good news, and not with eloquent human wisdom, otherwise the cross of Christ would be made powerless.

18 ૧૮ કેમ કે નાશ પામનારાઓને તો વધસ્તંભની વાત મૂર્ખતા જેવી લાગે છે; પણ અમો ઉદ્ધાર પામનારાઓને તો તે ઈશ્વરનું સામર્થ્ય છે.

For the message of the cross is nonsense to those who are lost, but it's the power of God to those of us who are saved.

19 ૧૯ કેમ કે લખેલું છે કે, ‘હું જ્ઞાનીઓના ડહાપણનો નાશ કરીશ અને બુદ્ધિમાનોની બુદ્ધિને નિરર્થક કરીશ.’””

As Scripture says, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will wipe out the cleverness of the clever.”

20 ૨૦ જ્ઞાની ક્યાં છે? શાસ્ત્રી ક્યાં છે? આ જમાનાનો વાદવિવાદ કરનાર ક્યાં છે? શું ઈશ્વરે જગતના ડહાપણને મૂર્ખતા ઠરાવી નથી? (aiōn g165)

So how about the wise, the writers, and the philosophers of this age? Hasn't God turned the wisdom of this world into foolishness? (aiōn g165)

21 ૨૧ કેમ કે જયારે ઈશ્વરે પોતાના જ્ઞાન પ્રમાણે નિર્માણ કર્યું હતું તેમ જગતે પોતાના જ્ઞાન વડે ઈશ્વરને ઓળખ્યા નહિ, ત્યારે જગત જેને મૂર્ખતા ગણે છે તે સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરવા દ્વારા વિશ્વાસ કરનારાઓનો ઉદ્ધાર કરવાનું ઈશ્વરને પસંદ પડયું.

Since God in his wisdom allowed the world in its wisdom not to know God, it was God's gracious plan that by the foolishness of the good news those who trusted in him would be saved.

22 ૨૨ યહૂદીઓ ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો માગે છે અને ગ્રીક લોકો જ્ઞાન શોધે છે;

The Jews ask for miraculous signs, and Greeks look for wisdom,

23 ૨૩ પણ અમે તો વધસ્તંભે જડાયેલા ખ્રિસ્તને પ્રગટ કરીએ છીએ, તે તો યહૂદીઓને અવરોધરૂપ અને ગ્રીક લોકોને મૂર્ખતારૂપ લાગે છે.

but our message is of Christ killed on a cross—offensive to the Jews, and foolishness to the foreigners.

24 ૨૪ પરંતુ જેઓને તેડવામાં આવ્યા, પછી તે યહૂદી હોય કે ગ્રીક હોય, તેઓને તો ખ્રિસ્ત એ જ ઈશ્વરનું સામર્થ્ય તથા ઈશ્વરનું જ્ઞાન છે.

However, for those who are called by God, both Jews and foreigners, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 ૨૫ કારણ કે માણસો ના જ્ઞાન કરતાં ઈશ્વરની મૂર્ખતામાં વિશેષ જ્ઞાન છે, અને માણસો ની શક્તિ કરતાં ઈશ્વરની નિર્બળતામાં વિશેષ શક્તિ છે.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than we are; and the weakness of God is stronger than we are.

26 ૨૬ ભાઈઓ, ઈશ્વરના તમારાં તેડાને લક્ષમાં રાખો કે, માનવીય ધોરણ મુજબ તમારામાંના ઘણાં જ્ઞાનીઓ ન હતા, પરાક્રમીઓ ન હતા, ઉચ્ચ કુળમાં જન્મેલા ન હતા.

Brothers and sisters, remember your calling—and that this did not include many who are wise, humanly speaking; not many who are powerful; not many who are important.

27 ૨૭ પણ ઈશ્વરે જ્ઞાનીઓને શરમાવવા સારુ દુનિયાના મૂર્ખોને અને શક્તિમાનોને શરમાવવા સારુ દુનિયાના નિર્બળોને પસંદ કર્યા છે.

Instead God chose the things the world considers foolish to humiliate those who think they are wise. He chose the things the world considers weak to humiliate those who think they are strong.

28 ૨૮ વળી જેઓ મોટા મનાય છે તેઓને નહિ જેવા કરવા માટે, ઈશ્વરે દુનિયાના અકુલીનોને, ધિક્કાર પામેલાઓને તથા જેઓ કશી વિસાતમાં નથી તેઓને પસંદ કર્યા છે

He chose the things that are unimportant and despised by the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

29 ૨૯ કે, કોઈ મનુષ્ય ઈશ્વરની આગળ અભિમાન કરે નહિ.

so that nobody should boast in God's presence.

30 ૩૦ પણ ઈશ્વર ની કૃપા થી તમે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં છો, તેઓ તો ઈશ્વર તરફથી આપણે સારુ જ્ઞાન, ન્યાયીપણું, પવિત્રતા તથા ઉદ્ધાર થયા છે;

It's because of him that you live in Christ Jesus, who God made to be wisdom for us. He sets us right, keeps us right, and frees us.

31 ૩૧ લખેલું છે કે, ‘જે કોઈ ગર્વ કરે તે પ્રભુમાં ગર્વ કરે.’”

So as Scripture says, “Whoever wants to boast, let them boast in the Lord.”
