Matthaeus 5
1 Da er aber die Volkshaufen sah, stieg er auf den Berg, und als er sich setzte, kamen seine Jünger zu ihm.
And when he sawe the multitude, he went vp into a mountaine: and when he was set, his disciples came to him.
2 Und er öffnete seinen Mund, lehrte sie und sprach:
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 Selig sind die geistlich Armen! denn ihrer ist die Himmelsherrschaft. -
Blessed are the poore in spirit, for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.
4 Selig die Leidtragenden! denn sie werden getröstet werden. -
Blessed are they that mourne: for they shall be comforted.
5 Selig die Sanftmütigen! denn sie werden die Erde ererben. -
Blessed are the meeke: for they shall inherite the earth.
6 Selig die nach Gerechtigkeit Hungernden und Dürstenden! denn sie sollen statt werden. -
Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousnes: for they shalbe filled.
7 Selig die Barmherzigen! denn sie werden Barmherzigkeit erfahren. -
Blessed are the mercifull: for they shall obteine mercie.
8 Selig die Reinen im Herzen! denn sie werden Gott schauen. -
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Selig die Friedfertigen! denn sie werden Gottes Söhne heißen. -
Blessed are the peace makers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Selig die um der Gerechtigkeit willen Verfolgten! denn ihrer ist die Himmelsherrschaft. -
Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.
11 Selig seid ihr, wenn man euch geschmäht und verfolgt und alles Böse wider euch gelogen hat, um meinetwillen!
Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely.
12 Freuet euch und frohlocket, denn euer Lohn ist groß in den Himmeln; denn also haben sie verfolgt die Propheten, die vor euch waren.
Reioyce and be glad, for great is your reward in heauen: for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you.
13 Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; wenn aber das Salz fade geworden ist, womit soll gesalzen werden? Es ist zu nichts mehr nütze, als daß es hinausgeschüttet und von den Leuten zertreten werde.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt haue lost his sauour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be troden vnder foote of men.
14 Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Eine Stadt, die auf einem Berge liegt, kann nicht verborgen werden.
Ye are the light of the world. A citie that is set on an hill, cannot be hid.
15 Auch zündet man nicht eine Leuchte an, und setzt sie unter den Scheffel, sondern auf den Leuchter, und so leuchtet sie allen, die im Hause sind.
Neither doe men light a candel, and put it vnder a bushel, but on a candlesticke, and it giueth light vnto all that are in the house.
16 Also leuchte euer Licht vor den Leuten, damit sie eure guten Werke sehen, und euern Vater in den Himmeln preisen.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.
17 Meinet nicht, daß ich gekommen bin, das Gesetz, oder die Propheten auszulöschen; ich bin nicht gekommen auszulöschen, sondern zu erfüllen.
Think not that I am come to destroy the Lawe, or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.
18 Denn, wahrlich ich sage euch, bis daß der Himmel und die Erde vergeht, wird nicht ein Buchstabe noch ein Strichlein vom Gesetz vergehen, bis daß es alles geschehe.
For truely I say vnto you, Till heauen, and earth perish, one iote or one title of the Law shall not scape, till all things be fulfilled.
19 Wer nun eines von diesen kleinsten Geboten auflöst, und lehrt die Leute also, der wird der kleinste heißen in der Himmelsherrschaft; wer es aber tut oder lehrt, der wird groß heißen in der Himmelsherrschaft.
Whosoeuer therefore shall breake one of these least commandements, and teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen: but whosoeuer shall obserue and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdome of heauen.
20 Denn ich sage euch: Es sei denn eure Gerechtigkeit völliger, denn die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in die Himmelsherrschaft eingehen.
For I say vnto you, except your righteousnes exceede the righteousnes of the Scribes and Pharises, ye shall not enter into the kingdome of heauen.
21 Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht töten; wer aber tötet, der soll dem Gericht verfallen sein."
Ye haue heard that it was sayd vnto them of the olde time, Thou shalt not kill: for whosoeuer killeth shalbe culpable of iudgement.
22 Ich aber sage euch, jeder, der mit seinem Bruder zürnt, der soll dem Gericht verfallen sein; wer aber gar zu seinem Bruder sagt: Raka! (Dumkopf) der soll dem hohen Rat verfallen sein; wer aber gar sagt: Narr! der soll in das feurige Tal Hinnom verfallen sein. (Geenna g1067)
But I say vnto you, whosoeuer is angry with his brother vnaduisedly, shalbe culpable of iudgment. And whosoeuer sayth vnto his brother, Raca, shalbe worthy to be punished by the Councill. And whosoeuer shall say, Foole, shalbe worthy to be punished with hell fire. (Geenna g1067)
23 Wenn du deine Gabe auf dem Altar opferst, und wirst daselbst eingedenkt, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich hat,
If then thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought against thee,
24 So laß daselbst deine Gabe vor dem Altar, und gehe zuerst hin, und versöhne dich mit deinem Bruder, und alsdann komme, und opfere deine Gabe.
Leaue there thine offring before the altar, and goe thy way: first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Sei willfertig deinem Widersacher bald, so lange du noch mit ihm auf dem Wege bist, damit der Widersacher dich nicht dem Richter überliefere, und der Richter überliefere dich dem Gerichtsdiener, und du werdest in den Kerker geworfen.
Agree with thine aduersarie quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him, lest thine aduersarie deliuer thee to the Iudge, and the Iudge deliuer thee to ye sergeant, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Wahrlich ich sage dir, du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis du den letzten Heller bezahlt hast
Verely I say vnto thee, thou shalt not come out thence, till thou hast payed the vtmost farthing.
27 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen".
Ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
28 Ich aber sage euch: jeder, der ein Weib ansieht, ihrer zu begehren, der hat schon mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen in seinem Herzen.
But I say vnto you, that whosoeuer looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adulterie with her already in his heart.
29 Wenn aber dein rechtes Auge dir zum Fallstrick wird, so reiß es aus, und wirf es von dir; denn es ist besser, daß eines deiner Glieder verderbe, und nicht dein ganzer Leib ins Tal Hinnom geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)
Wherefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, plucke it out, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee, that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
30 Und wenn deine rechte Hand dir zum Fallstrick wird, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir; denn es ist dir besser, daß eines deiner Glieder verderbe, denn daß dein ganzer Leib ins Tal Hinnom geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)
Also if thy right hand make thee to offend, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
31 Es ist auch gesagt: "Wer sein Weib entläßt, der gebe ihr einen Scheidebrief":
It hath bene sayd also, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, let him giue her a bill of diuorcement.
32 Ich aber sage euch: Wer sein Weib entläßt, außer von wegen Hurrerei, der macht, daß sie die Ehe bricht, und wer eine Entlassene freit, der bricht die Ehe.
But I say vnto you, whosoeuer shall put away his wife (except it be for fornication) causeth her to commit adulterie: and whosoeuer shall marrie her that is diuorced, committeth adulterie.
33 Abermals habt ihr gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht falsch schwören, sondern dem Herrn deine Schwüre halten".
Againe, ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of old time, Thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt performe thine othes to the Lord.
34 Ich aber sage euch, daß ihr gar nicht schwören sollt, weder beim Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron;
But I say vnto you, Sweare not at all, neither by heauen, for it is the throne of God:
35 Noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist der Schemel seiner Füße; noch bei Jerusalem, denn es ist des großen Königs Stadt.
Nor yet by the earth: for it is his footestoole: neither by Hierusalem: for it is the citie of the great King.
36 Noch bei deinem Haute sollst du schwören, denn du kannst nicht ein Haar weiß, oder schwarz machen.
Neither shalt thou sweare by thine head, because thou canst not make one heare white or blacke.
37 Eure Rede sei: Ja, ja; nein, nein; was darüber ist, das ist vom Übel.
But let your communication be Yea, yea: Nay, nay. For whatsoeuer is more then these, commeth of euill.
38 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: "Auge um Auge, und Zahn um Zahn".
Ye haue heard that it hath bene sayd, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
39 Ich aber sage euch, daß man dem Bösen nicht widerstehen soll, sondern wenn dich jemand auf deinen rechten Backen schlägt, so biete ihm den andern auch dar.
But I say vnto you, Resist not euill: but whosoeuer shall smite thee on thy right cheeke, turne to him the other also.
40 Und dem, der mit dir rechten und deinen Rock nehmen will, daß auch den Überwurf.
And if any man wil sue thee at the law, and take away thy coate, let him haue thy cloke also.
41 Und wer dich zwingt eine Meile, mit dem gehe zwei.
And whosoeuer will compell thee to goe a mile, goe with him twaine.
42 Gib dem, der dich bittet, und wende dich nicht von dem, der dir abborgen will.
Giue to him that asketh, and from him that would borowe of thee, turne not away.
43 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: "Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen".
Ye haue heard that it hath bin said, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour, and hate your enemie.
44 Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde! Segnet, die euch fluchen! Tut wohl denen, die euch hassen, und betet für die, so euch beleidigen und verfolgen,
But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies: blesse them that curse you: doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which hurt you, and persecute you,
45 Auf daß ihr Söhne eures Vaters in den Himmeln seid, denn er läßt seine Sonne aufgehen über Böse und Gute, und läßt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.
That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euill, and the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and vniust.
46 Denn wenn ihr liebt, die euch lieben, was für ein Verdienst habt ihr? Tun nicht die Zöllner dasselbe"
For if ye loue them, which loue you, what rewarde shall you haue? Doe not the Publicanes euen the same?
47 Und wenn ihr eure Brüder allein grüßet, was tut ihr Sonderliches? Tun nicht die Heiden auch also?
And if ye be friendly to your brethren onely, what singular thing doe ye? doe not euen the Publicanes likewise?
48 So sollt nun ihr vollkommen werden, gleichwie euer Vater in den Himmeln vollkommen ist.
Ye shall therefore be perfit, as your Father which is in heauen, is perfite.
