Matthaeus 25
1 Dann wird die Himmelsherrschaft gleich sein zehn Jungfrauen, welche ihre Lampen nahmen, und gingen aus, dem Bräutigam entgegenzugehen.
THEN shall be likened the kingdom of heaven unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom and the bride.
2 Aber fünf von ihnen waren klug, und fünf töricht.
But five of them were wise, and five foolish.
3 Die töricht waren, nahmen ihre Lampen, aber sie nahmen nicht Öl mit sich.
And those foolish (ones) took their lamps, but did not take with them the oil:
4 Die klugen aber nahmen Öl in ihren Gefäßen, samt ihren Lampen.
but those were wise who took oil in vessels with their lamps.
5 Als aber der Bräutigam verzog, wurden sie alle schläfrig und schliefen ein.
But while the bridegroom withheld, they all dozed and slept.
6 Um Mitternacht aber ward ein Geschrei: Siehe, der Bräutigam! Gehet aus, ihm zu begegnen!
And in the dividing of the night there was the cry, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go forth to his meeting.
7 Da stunden alle diese Jungfrauen auf, und schmückten ihre Lampen.
Then all the virgins arose, and prepared their lamps.
8 Die törichten aber sprachen zu den klugen: Gebt uns von euerm Öl, denn unsere Lampen verlöschen.
But those foolish ones said to the wise, Give to us from your oil; for, behold, our lamps are gone out.
9 Die klugen aber antworteten, und sprachen: Niemals! denn es würde ja nicht reichen für und euch; gehet lieber zu den Krämern, und kaufet euch!
But the wise ones answered them, saying, Lest it should not suffice for us and for you; but go to those who sell, and buy for you.
10 Als sie aber hingingen zu kaufen, kam der Bräutigam; und die bereit waren, gingen mit ihm ein zur Hochzeit; und die Tür ward verschlossen. -
And while they were gone to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared entered with him into the house of festivity, and the gate was shut.
11 Zuletzt kamen auch die übrigen Jungfrauen und sagten: Herr, Herr, tue uns auf!
At last came also those other virgins, saying, Our Lord, our Lord, open to us!
12 Er aber antwortete, und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, ich kenne euch nicht.
But he answered and said to them, Assuredly I tell you, I know you not.
13 Darum wachet, denn ihr wisset nicht den Tag, noch die Stunde.
Be wakeful therefore, for you know not that day nor the hour.
14 Denn gleichwie ein Mensch, der über Land zog, und rief seine Haussklaven, und übergab ihnen seine Güter;
FOR as a man who journeyed called his servants, and delivered to them his property:
15 Und einem gab er fünf Talente, einem andern zwei, einem dritten eins, einem jeden nach seiner Kraft, und zog alsbald fort.
To one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, each man according to his faculty; and forthwith went away.
16 Da ging hin, der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, arbeitete mit ihnen, und Gewann andere fünf Talente.
But he who had received five talents went and traded with them, and gained five others.
17 Desgleichen auch der mit den zweien; und auch er gewann zwei andere.
Likewise he who (had received) two by trading gained two others.
18 Der aber das eine empfangen hatte, ging hin, grub ein Loch in die Erde, und versteckte das Geld seines Herrn. -
But he who had received one went, dug in the earth, and hid the money of his lord.
19 Nach langer Zeit kommt der Herr jener Knechte und forderte Rechenschaft von ihnen.
After a long time the lord of those servants came, and received from them the account.
20 Und der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, kam, brachte herbei fünf andere Talente, und sprach: Herr, fünf Talente hast du mir gegeben; siehe ich habe fünf andere Talente mit ihnen gewonnen.
Then he drew near who had received the five talents, and brought five others, and said, My lord, five talents thou gavest me: behold, five others I have gained by them.
21 Da sprach sein Herr zu ihm: Recht so! guter und getreuer Knecht! über Wenigem bist du getreu gewesen, ich will dich über Vieles setzen. Gehe ein zur Freude deines Herrn. -
His lord said to him, It is well, good and faithful servant; over a little thou hast been faithful, over much I will establish thee: enter into the joy of thy lord.
22 Da kam auch der die zwei Talente empfangen hatte, herbei, und sprach: Herr, zwei Talente hast du mir übergeben, siehe, andere zwei Talente habe ich mit ihnen gewonnen.
And he of the two talents approached, and said, My lord, two talents thou gavest me: behold, two others I have gained by them.
23 Da sprach sein Herr zu ihm: Recht so! guter und getreuer Knecht! über Wenigem warst du getreu, über Vieles will ich dich setzen; gehe ein zur Freude deines Herrn. -
His lord saith to him, It is well, servant good and faithful; over a little thou hast been faithful, over much will I establish thee: enter into the joy of thy lord.
24 Da kam auch, der das eine Talent empfangen hatte, herbei, und sprach: Herr, ich habe dich gekannt, daß du ein harter Mensch bist, daß du erntest, wo du nicht gesäet hast, und einsammelst, wo du nicht ausgestreut hast.
But he also drew near who had received the one talent, and said, My lord, I knew thee, that thou wast a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering together from whence thou hadst not dispersed.
25 Und da ich mich fürchtete, so ging ich hin, und versteckte dein Talent in der Erde; siehe, da hast du das deine!
And I feared, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold, thou hast thine own.
26 Sein Herr aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Du böser und fauler Knecht! wußtest du, daß ich ernte, wo ich nicht gesäet habe, und einsammle, wo ich nicht ausgestreut habe?
His lord answered, Thou evil and slothful servant, thou didst know me that I reap where I have not sowed, and collect from whence I have not dispersed.
27 So mußtest du mein Geld den Wechslern geben, und wenn ich gekommen wäre, hätte ich das Meinige mit Zinsen zurückgenommen.
Did it not behove thee to cast my money upon the table, that when I came I might require mine own with its increase?
28 So nehmet nun das Talent von ihm und gebet es dem, der die zehn Talente hat!
Take therefore from him the talent, and give it unto him who hath ten talents.
29 Denn jedem, der da hat, wird gegeben werden, und wird Überfluß haben, aber von dem, der nichts hat, wird auch das er hat, weggenommen werden.
For unto him who hath shall be given, and it shall be added to him; but he who hath not, that also which he hath shall be taken from him.
30 Und den unnützen Knecht werfet hinaus in die Finsternis draußen, daselbst wird sein heulen und Zähneknirschen.
And the indolent servant cast forth into the darknesses without; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 Wann aber der Menschensohn komm in seiner Herrlichkeit, und alle Engel mit ihm, dann wird er sitzen auf dem Throne seiner Herrlichkeit,
WHEN the Son of man cometh in his glory, and all his holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.
32 Und es werden vor ihm versammelt werden alle Heiden und er wird sie scheiden von einander, gleichwie der Hirte die Schafe von den Ziegen scheidet,
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats.
33 Und er wird die Schafe zu seiner Rechten stellen, die Ziegen aber zur Linken.
And he shall cause the sheep to stand upon his right hand, and the goats on his left.
34 Dann wird der König sagen zu denen zu seiner Rechten: Kommt, Gesegnete meines Vaters, ererbet die Königsherrschaft, die euch bereitet ist, von Grundlegung der Welt an.
Then shall the King say to them on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom which was to be for you from the foundation of the world.
35 Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr gabt mir zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr habt mir zu trinken gegeben; fremd war ich, und ihr habt mich aufgenommen;
For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I thirsted, and you made me to drink; I was a stranger, and you received me;
36 Nackt war ich, und ihr habt mich bekleidet; krank, und ihr habt nach mir gesehen; im Gefängnis, und ihr kamet zu mir. -
I was naked, and you covered me; I was sick, and you cared for me; and I was in prison, and you came to me.
37 Alsdann werden ihm die Gerechten antworten, und sagen: Herr, wann haben wir dich hungrig gesehen, und haben dich gespeist? oder durstig, und haben dir zu trinken gegeben?
Then shall say unto him those righteous, Our Lord! when did we see that thou wast hungry, and fed thee, or that thou didst thirst, and we gave thee drink?
38 Wann haben wir dich fremd gesehen, und haben dich aufgenommen, oder nacht, und haben dich bekleidet?
and when did we see thee a stranger, and received thee, or naked, and covered thee?
39 Und wann haben wir dich krank oder im Gefängnis gesehen, und sind zu dir gekommen? -
and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee?
40 Und der König wird antworten, und zu ihnen sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: sofern ihr es getan habt an einem dieser meiner geringsten Brüder, habt ihr es mir getan.
And the King shall answer and say to them, Amen I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it unto one of these my least brethren, unto me you did it.
41 Dann wird er sagen auch denen zur Linken: Weichet von mir, ihr Verfluchte! in das künftige Feuer, das bereitet ist dem Teufel und seinen Engeln. (aiōnios g166)
Then shall he say also unto them on his left hand, Go from me, accursed, into the fire of eternity, which was prepared for the accuser and for his angels. (aiōnios g166)
42 Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr gabet mir nicht zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr habt mir nicht zu trinken gegeben;
For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat; and I thirsted, but you made me not to drink;
43 Ich war fremd, und ihr habt mich nicht aufgenommen; nackt, und ihr habt mich nicht bekleidet; krank und im Gefängnis, und ihr habt nicht nach mir gesehen. -
and I was a stranger, and you received me not; and naked, and you clothed me not; and I was sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.
44 Dann werden auch sie antworten und sagen: Herr, wann haben wir dich hungrig, oder durstig, oder fremd, oder nackt, oder im Gefängnis gesehen, und haben dir nicht gedient?
Then shall they also answer and say, Our Lord! when saw we thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Dann wird er ihnen antworten, und sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, sofern ihr es nicht getan habt einem dieser Geringsten, habt ihr es mir auch nicht getan.
Then shall he answer and say to them, Amen I say unto you, that inasmuch as you did it not unto one of these little ones, you did it not to me.
