Matthaeus 23
1 Alsdann redete Jesus zu den Volkshaufen und zu seinen Jüngern,
Then Jeshu discoursed with the multitudes and with his disciples,
2 Und sprachen: Auf dem Stuhle Mosis sitzen die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer:
and said to them, Upon the chair of Musha sit the scribes and the Pharishee.
3 Alles nun, was sie euch sagen, daß ihr es halten sollt, das tut, aber nach ihren Werken sollt ihr nicht tun, denn sie sagen es wohl, tun es aber nicht.
Every thing, therefore, which they tell you to observe, observe and do; but after their practices do not act; for they say, and do not.
4 Sie binden aber schwere und unerträgliche Lasten, und legen sie den Menschen auf die Schultern, aber mit ihrem Finger wollen sie dieselben nicht anregen.
And they bind heavy burdens, and lay them on the shoulders of men, but they with their fingers are not willing to touch them.
5 Alle ihre Werke tun sie aber, daß sie von den Leuten gesehen werden. Denn sie machen ihre Denkzettel breit und die Quasten ihrer Gewänder groß,
And all their works they do that they may be seen of men; for they widen their tephillin, and lengthen the fringes of their waving vestments,
6 Sie lieben den obersten Platz bei den Gastmählern, und die obersten Stühle in den Synagogen.
and love the chief reclining-places at evening feasts, and the highest seats in synagogues,
7 Und die Begrüßungen auf den Straßen, und daß sie von den Leuten Rabbi, Rabbi, genannt werden.
and the shaloma in public places, and to be called of men Râbi.
8 Ihr aber sollt euch nicht Rabbi nennen lassen, denn Einer ist euer Meister; ihr alle aber seid Brüder.
But be you not called Râbi: for One is your Master; but all ye are brethren.
9 Und sollt niemand euern Vater nennen auf Erden, denn Einer ist euer Vater, der in den Himmeln ist.
And call no man Abâ to you upon earth: for One is your Father, who is in heaven.
10 Auch sollt ihr euch nicht Führer nennen lassen, denn euer Führer ist Einer, der Messias.
Neither be ye called Medabronee: for One is your Guide, -the Meshicha.
11 Der Größere aber von euch sei euer Diener.
But he who is great among you, let him be your servitor.
12 Wer sich aber selbst erhöhet, der wird erniedrigt werden, und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöhet werden.
For whosoever will exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever will abase himself shall be exalted.
13 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr die Himmelsherrschaft zuschließt vor den Menschen; denn ihr gehet nicht hinein, und die hineingehen wollen, die lasset ihr nicht hineingehen.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! because you hold the kingdom of heaven closed before the children of men; for you will not enter in yourselves, and them who are entering you will not permit to enter.
14 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr die Häuser der Witwen fresset, und als Deckmantel lange betet; darum werdet ihr ein um so schärferes Urteil empfangen. -
WOE to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! because you devour the houses of widows, with the pretext of prolonging your prayers; on account of which you shall receive the greater judgment.
15 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr das Meer und das Trockene durchziehet, um einen Judengenossen zu machen, und wenn er es geworden ist, so macht ihr ihn zu einem Sohne (Erben) des Tales Hinnom zwiefältig mehr, denn ihr seid. - (Geenna g1067)
Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! because you go over sea and dry (land) to make one proselyte; and when you have done it, you make him doubly more a son of gihana than yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 Wehe euch, blinde Wegweiser! die ihr saget: Wenn einer bei dem Tempel schwört, das ist nichts; wer aber bei dem Golde des Tempels schwört, der ist verpflichtet.
Woe to you, ye blind guides, who say, That who sweareth by the temple, it is nothing; but if he swear by the gold which is in the temple, he is liable!
17 Narren und Blinde! denn was ist größer, das Gold, oder der Tempel, der das Gold heiligt?
You senseless and blind! for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18 Und: Wenn einer bei dem Altar schwört, das ist nichts; wer aber bei dem Opfer schwört, das darauf ist, der ist verpflichtet.
And (that) whoever sweareth by the altar, it is nothing; but he swear by the oblation which is upon it, he is liable.
19 Narren und Blinde! was ist größer, das Opfer, oder der Altar, der das Opfer heiligt?
You foolish and sightless! for which is greater, the oblation, or the altar that sanctifieth the oblation?
20 Wer nun schwört bei dem Altar, der schwört bei ihm und allem, was auf ihm ist.
He therefore who sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things that are upon it.
21 Und wer da schwört bei dem Tempel, der schwört bei ihm und bei dem, der darinnen wohnt.
And he who sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by whatever abideth in it.
22 Und wer da schwört bei dem Himmel, der schwört bei dem Throne Gottes und bei dem, der darauf sitzt. -
And whosoever sweareth by heaven, sweareth by the throne of Aloha, and by Him who sitteth thereon.
23 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr verzehntet die Münze und den Anis und den Kümmel, und lasset weg das schwerere des Gesetztes: Das Recht und das Erbarmen und die Treue; dies sollte man tun und jenes nicht lassen.
Woe to you, scribes, Pharishee, hypocrites! because you tithe mint, dill, and cummin, and omit the more grave of the law, -justice, benignity, and faithfulness. For these you should have done, and those not omitted.
24 Blinde Wegweiser! die ihr die Mücken herausfischt, das Kamel aber hinuntertrinkt. -
You blind guides, who strain out gnats and swallow camels.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! who cleanse the outside of the cup and dish (which) within are full of rapine and injustice.
Sightless Pharishee! cleanse first the inside of the cup and the dish, that their outside also may be clean.
27 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr gleich seid den übertünchten Grüften, welche zwar von außen schön erscheinen, inwendig aber voller Totenbeine und aller Unreinigkeiten sind.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! for you are like whited sepulchres, which without appear beautiful, but within are full of the bones of the dead and all impurity.
28 Also auch ihr; von außen zwar scheint ihr den Menschen gerecht, inwendig aber seid ihr voll Heuchelei und Gesetzwidrigkeit. -
So you also from without appear to the sons of men as righteous, but within you are full of unrighteousness and hypocrisy.
29 Wehe euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, Heuchler! daß ihr die Gräber der Propheten bauet, und schmücket die Denkmale der Gerechten.
WOE to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! because you rebuild the tombs of the prophets and beautify the sepulchres of the just; and say,
30 Und sprechet: Wenn wir in den Tagen unserer Väter gewesen wären, so würden wir nicht mit ihnen teilhaftig geworden sein am Blute der Propheten.
If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been with them partakers in the blood of the prophets:
31 Damit gebet ihr euch selbst das Zeugnis, daß ihr Söhne der Prophetenmörder seid.
thus bearing witness against yourselves, that you are the sons of them who killed the prophets.
32 Und ihr, macht nur das Maß eurer Väter voll!
And you also, -complete the measure of your fathers.
33 Ihr Schlangen und Otterngezüchte! Wie wollt ihr dem Gericht des Tal Hinnom entfliehen? (Geenna g1067)
Serpents, birth of vipers! how will you escape from the judgment of gihana? (Geenna g1067)
34 Darum siehe, ich sende euch Propheten und Weise und Schriftgelehrte, und von ihnen werdet ihr töten und kreuzigen, und von ihnen in euern Synagogen geißeln, und von einer Stadt zur andern verfolgen,
On this account, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes; (some) of these you shall kill and crucify; and (some) of these you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city.
35 Auf daß über euch komme alles gerechte Blut, das auf Erden vergossen ist, von dem Blute des gerechten Abels an, bis zu dem Blute Zacharias, der Sohnes Barachias, welchen ihr getötet habt zwischen dem Tempel und dem Altar.
So that there shall come upon you all the blood of the just which hath been shed upon the earth; from the blood of Habil the righteous, unto the blood of Zakaria-bar-Barakia, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.
36 Wahrlich ich sage euch, das wird alles kommen auf dieses Geschlecht!
Amen I say unto you, that all these shall come upon this generation.
37 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! die du tötest die Propheten, und steinigest, die zu dir gesandt sind, wie oft habe ich deine Kinder versammeln wollen, gleich wie eine Henne ihre Küchlein versammelt unter ihre Flügel; und ihr habt nicht gewollt.
Urishlem, Urishlem! who killest the prophets, and stonest them who are sent unto her, what times would I have gathered thy children, as gathereth the hen her young ones beneath her wings, and you would not!
38 Siehe, euer Haus wird euch wüste gelassen werden.
Lo, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 Denn ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mich von jetzt an nicht mehr sehen, bis ihr sprechet: Gesegnet sei, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn!
For I say unto you, That you shall not see me from henceforth, until you shall say, Blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord.
