Johannes 5
1 Darnach war ein Fest der Juden, und Jesus zog hinauf nach Jerusalem.
After that, there was a feast of the Iewes, and Iesus went vp to Hierusalem.
2 Es ist aber zu Jerusalem beim Schaftore ein Teich, der auf hebräisch Bethesda heißt, und fünf Hallen hat.
And there is at Hierusalem by the place of the sheepe, a poole called in Ebrew Bethesda, hauing fiue porches:
3 In diesem lag eine große Menge Kranker, Blinder, Lahmer und Verdorrter.
In the which lay a great multitude of sicke folke, of blinde, halte, and withered, wayting for the mouing of the water.
4 Es war ein Mensch daselbst, der achtunddreißig Jahre krank gewesen war.
For an Angel went downe at a certaine season into the poole, and troubled the water: whosoeuer then first, after the stirring of the water, stepped in, was made whole of whatsoeuer disease he had.
5 Da Jesus denselben liegen sah, und vernahm, daß er schon lange Zeit so zugebracht hatte,
And a certaine man was there, which had bene diseased eight and thirtie yeeres.
6 Sagt er ihm: Willst du gesund werden?
When Iesus sawe him lie, and knew that he nowe long time had bene diseased, he saide vnto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 Der Kranke antwortete ihm: Herr, ich habe keinen Menschen, damit er mich, wenn das Wasser sich bewegt, in den Teich schaffe; während ich aber komme, steigt ein anderer vor mir hinunter.
The sicke man answered him, Sir, I haue no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the poole: but while I am comming, another steppeth downe before me.
8 Sagt ihm Jesus: Stehe auf, nimm dein Bett und wandle!
Iesus said vnto him, Rise: take vp thy bed, and walke.
9 Und alsbald ward der Mensch gesund, und wandelte. Es war aber Sabbat an jenem Tage.
And immediatly the man was made whole, and tooke vp his bed, and walked: and the same day was the Sabbath.
10 Da sprachen die Juden zu dem Geheilten: Es ist Sabbat, es ist dir nicht erlaubt, dein Bett zu tragen.
The Iewes therefore said to him that was made whole, It is the Sabbath day: it is not lawfull for thee to cary thy bed.
11 Er antwortete ihnen: Der mich gesund machte, derselbige hat mir gesagt: Nimm dein Bett, und wandle!
He answered them, He that made me whole, he said vnto me, Take vp thy bed, and walke.
12 Da frugen sie ihn: Wer ist der Mensch, der zu dir sagte: Nimm dein Bett, und wandle!
Then asked they him, What man is that which said vnto thee, Take vp thy bed and walke?
13 Der Hergestellte wußte nicht, wer es war, denn Jesus war gewichen, und es war ein Volkshaufe an dem Ort.
And he that was healed, knewe not who it was: for Iesus had conueied himselfe away from the multitude that was in that place.
14 Darnach findet ihn Jesus im Tempel, und sprach zu ihm; Siehe, du bist gesund geworden, sündige hinfort nicht mehr, daß dir nicht etwas Ärgeres widerfahre.
And after that, Iesus founde him in the Temple, and said vnto him, Beholde, thou art made whole: sinne no more, lest a worse thing come vnto thee.
15 Der Mensch ging hin, und verkündigte den Juden, daß Jesus es ist, der ihn gesund gemacht hatte.
The man departed and tolde the Iewes that it was Iesus, which had made him whole.
16 Und darum verfolgten die Juden Jesus, weil er dieses am Sabbat getan hatte.
And therefore the Iewes did persecute Iesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day.
17 Jesus aber antwortete ihnen: Mein Vater wirkt bisher, und so wirke auch ich.
But Iesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I worke.
18 Darum trachteten die Juden noch viel mehr, ihn zu töten, weil er nicht allein den Sabbat brach, sondern auch Gott seinen Vater nannte, und sich so Gott gleich machte.
Therefore the Iewes sought the more to kill him: not onely because he had broken the Sabbath: but said also that God was his Father, and made himselfe equall with God.
19 Da antwortete Jesus und sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, der Sohn kann nichts tun von sich selbst, wenn er nicht den Vater etwas tun sieht, denn was derselbige tut, das tut auch der Sohn gleicherweise.
Then answered Iesus, and said vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, The Sonne can doe nothing of himselfe, saue that he seeth the Father doe: for whatsoeuer things he doth, the same things doeth the Sonne in like maner.
20 Denn der Vater liebt den Sohn, und zeigt ihm alles, was er selber tut, und größere Werke als diese, wird er ihm zeigen, daß ihr euch verwundern sollt.
For the Father loueth the Sonne, and sheweth him all things, whatsoeuer he himselfe doeth, and he will shewe him greater workes then these, that ye should marueile.
21 Denn wie der Vater die Toten auferweckt, und lebendig macht, so macht auch der Sohn lebendig, welche er will.
For likewise as the Father rayseth vp the dead, and quickeneth them, so the Sonne quickeneth whom he will.
22 Denn der Vater richtet nicht einmal jemand, sondern alles Gericht hat er dem Sohn übertragen;
For the Father iudgeth no man, but hath committed all iudgement vnto the Sonne,
23 Damit alle den Sohn ehren, wie sie den Vater ehren. Wer den Sohn nicht ehrt, der ehrt den Vater nicht, der ihn gesandt hat.
Because that all men shoulde honour the Sonne, as they honour the Father: he that honoureth not the Sonne, the same honoureth not the Father, which hath sent him.
24 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer mein Wort hört und glaubt dem, der mich gesandt hat, der hat ewiges Leben, und kommt nicht in das Gericht, sondern er ist aus dem Tode in das Leben hinübergeschritten. (aiōnios g166)
Verely, verely I say vnto you, he that heareth my worde, and beleeueth him that sent me, hath euerlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but hath passed from death vnto life. (aiōnios g166)
25 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es kommt die Stunde, und ist schon jetzt, daß die Toten die Stimme des Sohnes Gottes hören werden, und die sie gehört haben, die werden leben.
Verely, verely I say vnto you, the houre shall come, and now is, when the dead shall heare the voyce of the Sonne of God: and they that heare it, shall liue.
26 Denn gleichwie der Vater Leben hat in ihm selbst, so hat er auch dem Sohn gegeben, Leben in sich zu haben,
For as the Father hath life in himselfe, so likewise hath he giuen to the Sonne to haue life in himselfe,
27 Und hat ihm Macht gegeben, auch Gericht zu halten, weil er (ein) Menschensohn ist.
And hath giuen him power also to execute iudgement, in that he is the Sonne of man.
28 Verwundert euch dess´ nicht, denn es kommt die Stunde, in welcher alle, die in den Grabmählern sind, seine Stimme hören werden,
Marueile not at this: for the houre shall come, in the which all that are in the graues, shall heare his voyce.
29 Und werden hervorgehen, die da Gutes getan haben zur Auferstehung des Lebens, die aber Arges getan haben zur Auferstehung des Gerichts.
And they shall come foorth, that haue done good, vnto ye resurrection of life: but they that haue done euil, vnto the resurrection of condemnation.
30 Ich kann nichts von mir selbst tun. So wie ich höre, so richte ich; und mein Gericht ist gerecht, denn ich suche nicht meinen Willen, sondern den Willen dess´, der mich gesandt hat.
I can doe nothing of mine owne selfe: as I heare, I iudge: and my iudgement is iust, because I seeke not mine owne will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me.
31 Wenn ich von mir selbst zeuge, so ist mein Zeugnis nicht wahr.
If I should beare witnesse of my selfe, my witnesse were not true.
32 Ein anderer ist es, der von mir zeugt, und ich weiß, daß das Zeugnis, welches er von mir gezeugt hat, wahr ist.
There is another that beareth witnesse of me, and I know that the witnesse, which he beareth of me, is true.
33 Ihr habt zu Johannes gesandt, und er hat der Wahrheit Zeugnis gegeben.
Ye sent vnto Iohn, and he bare witnesse vnto the trueth.
34 Ich aber nehme nicht Zeugnis von einem Menschen, sondern das sage ich, damit ihr gerettet werdet.
But I receiue not the record of man: neuerthelesse these things I say, that ye might be saued.
35 Jener war die brennende und scheinende Leuchte; ihr aber wolltet euch nur für eine Stunde ergötzen an seinem Lichte.
He was a burning, and a shining candle: and ye would for a season haue reioyced in his light.
36 Ich aber habe größeres Zeugnis, als das des Johannes. Denn die Werke, die mir der Vater gegeben hat, daß ich sie vollende, diese Werke selbst, die ich tue, zeugen von mir, daß der Vater mich gesandt hat;
But I haue greater witnesse then the witnesse of Iohn: for the workes which the Father hath giuen me to finish, the same workes that I doe, beare witnesse of me, that the Father sent me.
37 Und der Vater selbst, der mich gesandt hat, hat von mir gezeugt. Ihr habt weder jemals seine Stimme gehört, noch seine Gestalt gesehen;
And the Father himselfe, which hath sent me, beareth witnesse of me. Ye haue not heard his voyce at any time, neither haue ye seene his shape.
38 Und sein Wort habt ihr nicht in euch bleibend, denn demjenigen, welchen derselbige gesandt hat, glaubt ihr nicht.
And his worde haue you not abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye beleeued not.
39 Ihr erforschet die Schriften, denn ihr meinet in ihnen ewiges Leben zu haben, und dieselbigen sind es, die von mir zeugen; (aiōnios g166)
Searche the Scriptures: for in them ye thinke to haue eternall life, and they are they which testifie of me. (aiōnios g166)
40 Und doch wollt ihr nicht zu mir kommen, daß ihr Leben habt.
But ye will not come to me, that ye might haue life.
41 Verherrlichung von Menschen nehme ich nicht an,
I receiue not the prayse of men.
42 Aber ich habe euch erkannt, daß ihr die Liebe Gottes nicht in euch habt.
But I know you, that ye haue not the loue of God in you.
43 Ich bin gekommen in meines Vaters Namen, und ihr nehmet mich nicht an; wenn ein anderer im eigenen Namen kommt, denselbigen werdet ihr annehmen.
I am come in my Fathers Name, and ye receiue me not: if another shall come in his owne name, him will ye receiue.
44 Wie könnt ihr glauben, so ihr Verherrlichung von einander annehmt und die Verherrlichung von dem einigen Gott nicht suchet?
How can ye beleeue, which receiue honour one of another, and seeke not the honour that commeth of God alone?
45 Meinet nicht, daß ich euch verklagen werde bei dem Vater; es ist euer Verkläger Moses, auf welchen ihr eure Hoffnung gesetzt habt.
Doe not thinke that I will accuse you to my Father: there is one that accuseth you, euen Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 Denn wenn ihr Moses glaubtet, so würdet ihr auch mir glauben, denn von mir hat derselbige geschrieben.
For had ye beleeued Moses, ye would haue beleeued me: for he wrote of me.
47 Aber wenn ihr seinen Schriften nicht glaubet, wie werdet ihr meinen Worten glauben?
But if ye beleeue not his writings, how shall ye beleeue my wordes?
