Psalm 28

1 Von David. Zu dir, HERR, rufe ich:

[By David.] To you, Jehovah, I call. My rock, do not be deaf to me; lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit.

2 Höre mein lautes Flehen, wenn ich zu dir schreie, wenn ich meine Hände erhebe nach deinem Allerheiligsten!

Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

3 Raffe mich nicht weg mit den Frevlern und den Übeltätern, die freundlich reden mit ihren Nächsten und dabei Arges im Herzen sinnen!

Do not draw me away with the wicked, with evildoers who speak peace with their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.

4 Vergilt du ihnen nach ihrem Tun, nach der Bosheit ihrer Handlungen, vergilt ihnen nach dem Werk ihrer Hände, zahl’ ihnen ihr Verhalten heim, wie sie’s verdienen!

Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings. Give them according to the operation of their hands. Bring back on them what they deserve.

5 Denn sie achten nicht auf das Walten des HERRN und das Werk seiner Hände; drum wird er sie niederreißen und nicht wieder aufbaun.

Because they do not regard the works of Jehovah, nor the operation of his hands, he will break them down and not build them up.

6 Gepriesen sei der HERR, denn er hat gehört meinen lauten Hilferuf!

Blessed be Jehovah, because he has heard the voice of my petitions.

7 Der HERR ist meine Stärke und mein Schild; auf ihn hat mein Herz vertraut, da ist mir Hilfe geworden. So frohlockt denn mein Herz, und mit meinem Liede will ich ihm danken.

Jehovah is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him.

8 Der HERR ist seines Volkes Stärke und seines Gesalbten rettende Zuflucht.

Jehovah is the strength of his people. He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

9 O hilf deinem Volk und segne dein Erbe, weide sie und trage sie ewiglich!

Save your people, and bless your inheritance. Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.
