Psalm 93

1 Jahwe ward König! Mit Hoheit hat er sich angethan; Jahwe hat sich angethan, hat sich mit Stärke gegürtet: auch hat er den Erdkreis gefestigt, daß er nicht wankt.

The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. In the time before the Sabbath, when the earth was founded. The Lord has reigned. He has been clothed with beauty. The Lord has been clothed with strength, and he has girded himself. Yet he has also confirmed the world, which will not be moved.

2 Fest steht dein Thron von jeher, von Ewigkeit her bist du.

My throne is prepared from of old. You are from everlasting.

3 Es erhoben Ströme, Jahwe, es erhoben Ströme ihr Brausen; es erhoben Ströme ihr Tosen.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods have lifted up their waves,

4 Mehr als das Donnern gewaltiger majestätischer Wasser, mehr als die Meeresbrandung ist Jahwe majestätisch in der Himmelshöhe.

before the noise of many waters. Wondrous are the surges of the sea; wondrous is the Lord on high.

5 Deine Zeugnisse sind überaus zuverlässig; deinem Tempel gebührt Heiligkeit, Jahwe ist für alle Zeiten.

Your testimonies have been made exceedingly trustworthy. Sanctity befits your house, O Lord, with length of days.
