Psalm 64

1 Dem Musikmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Höre, o Gott, meine Stimme in meiner Klage; behüte mein Leben vor dem Schrecken des Feindes!

To the choirmaster a psalm of David. Hear O God voice my in complaint my from dread of an enemy you will preserve life my.

2 Schirme mich vor der Gemeinschaft der Bösewichter, vor der Rotte der Übelthäter,

You will hide me from [the] secret counsel of evil-doers from [the] unrest of [those who] do wickedness.

3 die ihre Zunge geschärft haben wie ein Schwert, ihren Pfeil - bittere Rede - gespannt haben,

Who they sharpen like sword tongue their they bend arrow their a word bitter.

4 um im Verborgenen auf den Redlichen zu schießen: plötzlich schießen sie auf ihn, ohne Scheu.

To shoot in secret places [the] blameless suddenly they shoot at him and not they are afraid.

5 Sie halten fest an bösem Anschlag, reden davon, daß sie Fallstricke verbergen wollen; sie denken: Wer wird auf uns sehen?

They strengthen for themselves - a matter evil they speak to hide snares they say who? will he see them.

6 Sie ersinnen Frevelthat: “Wir sind fertig, ersonnen ist der Anschlag!” und das Innere eines jeden und sein Herz ist unergründlich.

They plot injustice we have finished a plot plotted and [the] inner being of a person and [the] heart [is] deep.

7 Da trifft sie Gott mit dem Pfeil; plötzlich entstehen ihnen Wunden.

8 Man läßt ihn straucheln, indem ihre Zunge über sie kommt; es schütteln sich alle, die auf sie blicken.

9 Da fürchten sich alle Menschen und verkünden Gottes Thun und betrachten sein Werk.

And they were afraid all humankind and they declared [the] deed[s] of God and work his they will consider.

10 Der Fromme wird sich Jahwes freuen und Zuflucht bei ihm suchen, und rühmen werden sich alle, die redliches Herzens sind.

Let him rejoice [the] righteous in Yahweh and he will take refuge in him and let them boast all [people] upright of heart.
