Jesaja 51
1 Hört auf mich, die ihr der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt, die ihr Jahwe sucht! Blickt auf den Felsen hin, aus dem ihr gehauen seid, und auf die Höhlung des Brunnens, aus der ihr ausgegraben seid!
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock [whence] ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit [whence] ye are digged.
2 Blickt hin auf Abraham, euren Ahnherrn, und auf Sara, die euch gebar; denn als einzelnen Mann habe ich ihn berufen und ihn gesegnet und gemehrt!
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah [that] bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
3 Denn Jahwe tröstet Zion, tröstet alle ihre Ruinen. Er macht ihre Wüste dem Wonnelande gleich und ihre Einöde dem Garten Jahwes. Wonne und Freude soll man darin antreffen, Danksagung und lauten Lobgesang.
For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
4 Merkt auf mich, ihr Völker, und lauscht auf mich, ihr Nationen! Denn Unterweisung geht von mir aus, und mein Recht als Licht für die Völker.
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
5 Im Nu ist herbeigekommen meine Gerechtigkeit, hervorgetreten mein Heil, und meine Arme werden die Völker richten. Auf mich harren die Inseln und warten auf meinen Arm.
My righteousness [is] near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
6 Hebt eure Augen zum Himmel empor und blickt auf die Erde drunten: Denn der Himmel wird wie Rauch zerstieben, und die Erde wie ein Gewand zerfallen, und ihre Bewohner werden wie Mücken dahinsterben - mein Heil jedoch wird ewig dauern und meine Gerechtigkeit nicht aufhören!
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
7 Hört auf mich, die ihr die Gerechtigkeit kennt, du Volk, in dessen Herzen meine Unterweisung wohnt: Fürchtet nicht Schimpf von Menschen und vor ihren Schmähungen erschrecket nicht!
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart [is] my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
8 Denn gleich einem Gewande wird sie die Motte fressen, und der Wolle gleich wird sie die Schabe fressen: Meine Gerechtigkeit jedoch wird ewig dauern, und mein Heil bis zum fernsten Geschlecht!
For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
9 Wach auf, wach auf, umkleide dich mit Kraft, du Arm Jahwes! Wach auf wie in den Tagen der Vorzeit, unter den Geschlechtern der uralten Zeiten! Warst nicht du es, der Rahab zerhieb, der den Drachen durchbohrte?
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. [Art] thou not it that hath cut Rahab, [and] wounded the dragon?
10 Warst nicht du es, der das Meer austrocknen ließ, die Wasser der großen Flut? der die Tiefen des Meers in Weg verwandelte, damit die Erlösten hindurchschreiten könnten?
[Art] thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
11 Jahwes Befreite kehren heim und gelangen nach Zion mit Jauchzen und ewige Freude umschwebt ihr Haupt. Wonne und Freude erlangen sie: entflohen sind Kummer und Seufzen!
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy [shall be] upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; [and] sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
12 Ich, ich bin's, der euch tröstet! Wer bist du, daß du dich fürchten solltest vor Menschen, die sterben müssen, und vor Menschenkindern, die wie Gras behandelt werden,
I, [even] I, [am] he that comforteth you: who [art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man [that] shall die, and of the son of man [which] shall be made [as] grass;
13 und daß du Jahwes, deines Schöpfers, vergaßest, der den Himmel ausgespannt und die Erde gegründet hat, und beständig allezeit bebtest vor dem Grimme des Bedrückers, als zielte er, dich zu vernichten? Wo ist denn nun der Grimm des Bedrückers?
And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where [is] the fury of the oppressor?
14 Eilends wird, der da krumm liegt, seiner Fesseln entledigt, und nicht soll er sterbend der Grube verfallen, noch seines Brots ermangeln -
The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
15 so wahr ich Jahwe, dein Gott, bin, der das Meer aufwühlt, daß seine Wogen brausen: Jahwe der Heerscharen ist sein Name!
But I [am] the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts [is] his name.
16 Und ich habe dir meine Worte in den Mund gelegt und im Schatten meiner Hand habe ich dich geborgen, um den Himmel aufs Neue auszuspannen und die Erde neu zu gründen und um zu Zion zu sagen: Mein Volk bist du!
And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou [art] my people.
17 Ermuntere dich, ermuntere dich! Erhebe dich, Jerusalem, die du getrunken hast aus der Hand Jahwes, den Becher seines Grimms: Den Taumelkelch hast du getrunken, ausgeschlürft.
Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, [and] wrung [them] out.
18 Da war niemand, der sie geleitete, von allen Söhnen, die sie geboren, niemand, der sie bei der Hand ergriff, von allen Söhnen, die sie groß gezogen.
[There is] none to guide her among all the sons [whom] she hath brought forth; neither [is there any] that taketh her by the hand of all the sons [that] she hath brought up.
19 Zwiefaches, fürwahr, betraf dich - wer könnte dir Beileid zollen? Die Zerstörung und die Zertrümmerung, der Hunger und das Schwert - wer könnte dich trösten?
These two [things] are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?
20 Deine Söhne lagen umnachtet an allen Straßenecken, wie eine Antilope im Netze, sie, die sich vollgetrunken hatten vom Grimme Jahwes, von dem Schelten deines Gottes.
Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.
21 Darum höre doch dieses, du Elende, die du trunken bist, doch nicht von Wein!
Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
22 So spricht dein Herr, Jahwe, und dein Gott, der seines Volkes Sache führt: Fürwahr, ich habe aus deiner Hand genommen den Taumelbecher, den Kelch meines Grimms. Du sollst ihn fernerhin nicht mehr trinken müssen
Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God [that] pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, [even] the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:
23 und ich will ihn deinen Bedrückern in die Hand geben, die zu dir sprachen: Bücke dich, daß wir darüber hinschreiten! - so daß du deinen Rücken machen mußtest wie zum Erdboden und zur Straße für die darüber Hinschreitenden.
But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
