1 Mose 42
1 Als nun Jakob vernahm, daß es in Ägypten Getreide gebe, da sprach Jakob zu seinen Söhnen: Was zaudert ihr?
And he saw Jacob that there [was] grain in Egypt and he said Jacob to sons his why? are you looking at one another.
2 Da sprach er: Ich höre mit Bestimmtheit, daß es in Ägypten Getreide giebt. Zieht hin und holt uns von dort Getreide, damit wir am Leben bleiben und nicht sterben.
And he said here! I have heard that there [is] grain in Egypt go down there towards and buy grain for us from there so we may live and not we will die.
3 Da zogen zehn von den Brüdern Josephs hin, um Getreide aus Ägypten zu holen.
And they went down [the] brothers of Joseph ten to buy grain grain from Egypt.
4 Benjamin aber, den Bruder Josephs, ließ Jakob nicht mit seinen Brüdern ziehen; denn er trug Sorge, es könne ihm ein Unfall zustoßen.
And Benjamin [the] brother of Joseph not he sent Jacob with brothers his for he said lest it should happen to him harm.
5 Da kamen unter denen, die hinströmten, auch die Söhne Israels hin, um Getreide zu kaufen; denn in Kanaan herrschte Hungersnot.
And they came [the] sons of Israel to buy grain in among those coming for it was the famine in [the] land of Canaan.
6 Und Joseph, der da Machthaber war im Lande, der verkaufte aller Welt Getreide. Als nun die Brüder Josephs hereinkamen und sich bis auf den Boden vor ihm verneigten,
And Joseph he [was] the ruler over the land he [was] the [one who] sold grain to all [the] people of the land and they came [the] brothers of Joseph and they bowed down to him face [the] ground towards.
7 da erkannte Joseph seine Brüder, sobald er ihrer ansichtig wurde. Aber er stellte sich fremd gegen sie und er ließ sie hart an und fragte sie: Woher kommt ihr? Sie antworteten: Aus Kanaan, um Getreide zu kaufen.
And he saw Joseph brothers his and he recognized them and he acted as a stranger to them and he spoke with them harsh and he said to them from where? have you come and they said from [the] land of Canaan to buy food.
8 Und Joseph erkannte seine Brüder; sie aber erkannten ihn nicht.
And he recognized Joseph brothers his and they not they recognized him.
9 Da mußte Joseph an die Träume denken, die er in Bezug auf sie gehabt hatte. Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr seid Spione! Ihr seid nur hergekommen, um zu erspähen, wo das Land eine schwache Stelle hat.
And he remembered Joseph the dreams which he had dreamed of them and he said to them [are] spies you to see [the] nakedness of the land you have come.
10 Sie antworteten ihm: O nein, Herr! Deine Sklaven sind vielmehr hergekommen, um Mundvorrat zu kaufen.
And they said to him no O lord my and servants your they have come to buy food.
11 Wir sind alle Söhne eines Mannes, wir sind ehrliche Leute; deine Sklaven sind keine Spione!
All of us [are] sons of a man one we [are] honest we not they are servants your spies.
12 Er erwiderte ihnen: Nichts da! Ihr seid hergekommen, um zu erspähen, wo das Land eine schwache Stelle hat.
And he said to them In-deed [the] nakedness of the land you have come to see.
13 Sie antworteten: Unser zwölf sind deine Sklaven, lauter Brüder, Söhne eines Mannes in Kanaan; der Jüngste ist gegenwärtig noch bei unserem Vater, und einer ist verschwunden.
And they said [are] two plus ten servants your brothers - we sons of a man one in [the] land of Canaan and there! the young [brother] [is] with father our this day and the one not [is] he.
14 Da sprach Joseph zu ihnen: Es ist so, wie ich euch gesagt habe: Spione seid ihr!
And he said to them Joseph it [is that] which I said to you saying [are] spies you.
15 Damit sollt ihr euch ausweisen: so wahr der Pharao lebt, ihr sollt nicht eher von hier wegziehen, bis euer jüngster Bruder hierher gekommen ist.
By this you will be tested [by] [the] life of Pharaoh if you will go out from here that except when comes brother your young here.
16 Schickt einen von euch hin, daß er euren Bruder hole; ihr aber müßt gefangen bleiben. So sollen eure Aussagen geprüft werden, ob ihr mit der Wahrheit umgeht oder nicht. So wahr der Pharao lebt - ihr seid doch Spione!
Send of yourselves one so he may fetch brother your and you be imprisoned so they may be tested words your ¿ [is] truth with you and if not [by] [the] life of Pharaoh for [are] spies you.
17 Hierauf ließ er sie drei Tage in Gewahrsam legen.
And he removed them to custody three days.
18 Am dritten Tag aber sprach Joseph zu ihnen: Folgendes müßt ihr thun, um am Leben zu bleiben - denn ich bin ein gottesfürchtiger Mann.
And he said to them Joseph on the day third this do and live God I [am] fearing.
19 Wenn ihr ehrliche Leute seid, so mag einer von euch Brüdern als Gefangener zurückbleiben, da wo ihr in Gewahrsam lagt; ihr andern aber zieht hin und schafft das Getreide hin, dessen ihr für eure Familien bedürft.
If [are] honest you brother your one let him be imprisoned in [the] house of custody your and you go take [the] grain of [the] hunger of households your.
20 Euren jüngsten Bruder aber müßt ihr mir herbringen; so werden sich eure Aussagen bewahrheiten, und ihr werdet dem Tode entgehen. Und sie thaten also.
And brother your young you will bring to me so they may be verified words your and not you will die and they did so.
21 Da sprachen sie einer zum andern: Wahrlich, das haben wir an unserem Bruder verschuldet; denn wir sahen seine Angst, wie er uns anflehte; aber wir blieben taub! Darum sind nun diese Ängste über uns gekommen.
And they said each to brother his indeed [are] guilty - we on brother our who we saw [the] distress of self his when sought favor he to us and not we listened there-fore it has come to us the distress this.
22 Ruben aber sprach zu ihnen: Habe ich euch nicht gesagt: versündigt euch nicht an dem Kinde! Aber ihr wolltet nicht hören - nun aber wird Rechenschaft gefordert für sein Blut!
And he answered Reuben them saying ¿ not did I say to you - saying may not you sin against the boy and not you listened and also blood his here! [is] being required.
23 Sie wußten aber nicht, daß Joseph sie verstand; denn sie verkehrten durch einen Dolmetscher.
And they not they knew that [was] hearing Joseph for the interpreter [was] between them.
24 Da wendete er sich abseits, um zu weinen, kehrte dann wieder zu ihnen zurück und redete mit ihnen; hierauf ließ er Simeon aus ihrer Mitte greifen und vor ihren Augen fesseln.
And he turned away from with them and he wept and he returned to them and he spoke to them and he took from with them Simeon and he bound him to eyes their.
25 Sodann gab Joseph Befehl, ihre Säcke mit Getreide zu füllen, dabei aber einem jeden sein Geld wieder in seinen Sack zu thun, auch ihnen Zehrung mit auf den Weg zu geben. Nachdem man sie demgemäß versorgt,
And he commanded Joseph and people filled vessels their grain and to return silver their each to sack his and to give to them provision[s] for the journey and someone did for them thus.
26 luden sie ihr Getreide auf ihre Esel und zogen von dannen.
And they lifted grain their on donkeys their and they went from there.
27 Als aber einer von ihnen im Nachtquartier seinen Sack öffnete, um seinem Esel Futter zu geben, da sah er sein Geld in seinem Getreidesack obenauf liegen.
And he opened the one sack his to give fodder to donkey his at the lodging place and he saw silver his and there! it [was] in [the] mouth of sack his.
28 Da berichtete er seinen Brüdern: Mein Geld ist wieder da, hier liegt es in meinem Getreidesack! Da entsank ihnen der Mut, und bebend sahen sie einander an und riefen: Was hat uns da Gott angethan!
And he said to brothers his it has been returned silver my and also here! in sack my and it went out heart their and they trembled each to brother his saying what? this has he done God to us.
29 Als sie nun zu ihrem Vater Jakob nach Kanaan zurückgekehrt waren, berichteten sie ihm alles, was ihnen begegnet war, und sprachen:
And they came to Jacob father their [the] land of towards Canaan and they told to him all the [things which] had happened to them saying.
30 Er, der Herr des Landes, ließ uns hart an und beschuldigte uns, wir wollten das Land auskundschaften.
He spoke the man [the] lord of the land with us harsh and he made us like [those who] spy out the land.
31 Wir versicherten ihm zwar: Wir sind ehrliche Leute, wir sind keine Spione!
And we said to him [are] honest we not we are spies.
32 Wir sind unser zwölf Brüder, Söhne eines Vaters. Einer ist verschwunden, und der Jüngste ist zur Zeit bei unserem Vater in Kanaan.
[are] two plus Ten we brothers sons of father our the one not [is] he and the young [brother] this day [is] with father our in [the] land of Canaan.
33 Aber der Mann, der Herr des Landes, antwortete uns: Daran will ich erkennen, daß ihr ehrliche Leute seid: laßt einen von euch Brüdern bei mir zurück! Was ihr an Getreide für eure Familien bedürft, mögt ihr nehmen und abziehen.
And he said to us the man [the] lord of the land by this I will know that [are] honest you brother your one leave with me and [the] hunger of households your take and go.
34 Aber bringt mir euren jüngsten Bruder her, damit ich erkenne, daß ihr keine Spione, daß ihr ehrliche Leute seid. Alsdann werde ich euch euren Bruder wiedergeben, und ihr könnt das Land frei durchziehen.
And bring brother your young to me so let me know that not [are] spies you that [are] honest you brother your I will give to you and the land you will go about in.
35 Als sie aber ihre Säcke ausschütteten, fand sich das Geld eines jeden in seinem Sack. Und als sie samt ihrem Vater ihr Geld erblickten, da erschraken sie.
And it was they [were] emptying sacks their and there! each man [the] bag of silver his [was] in sack his and they saw [the] bags of silver their they and father their and they were afraid.
36 Da sprach ihr Vater Jakob zu ihnen: Mich beraubt ihr der Kinder! Joseph ist verschwunden, und Simeon ist verschwunden und Benjamin wollt ihr wegnehmen - mich trifft das alles!
And he said to them Jacob father their me you are making childless Joseph not [is] he and Simeon not [is] he and Benjamin you will take on me they are all of them.
37 Da antwortete Ruben seinem Vater: Meine beiden Söhne magst du umbringen, wenn ich dir ihn nicht zurückbringe. Vertraue mir ihn an, ich werde ihn dir zurückbringen!
And he said Reuben to father his saying two of sons my you will kill if not I will bring him to you put! him on hand my and I I will bring back him to you.
38 Er antwortete: Mein Sohn soll nicht mit euch reisen; denn sein Bruder ist tot, und er ist allein übrig. Wenn ihm ein Unfall zustieße auf dem Wege, den ihr ziehen müßt, so würdet ihr schuld daran sein, wenn ich mit meinem grauen Haar voller Jammer hinunter müßte in die Unterwelt. (Sheol h7585)
And he said not he will go down son my with you for brother his he has died and he to only him [is] remaining and it will happen to him harm on the journey which you will go on it and you will cause to go down gray hair my in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
