2 Mose 20

1 Nun redete Gott alle diese Worte und sprach:

And he spoke God all the words these saying.

2 Ich bin Jahwe, dein Gott, der dich aus Ägypten, aus dem Lande, wo ihr Sklaven wart, weggeführt hat.

(I *Lp) [am] Yahweh (God your *Lp) who I brought out you from [the] land of Egypt (from a house of *Lp) (slaves. *Lbp)

3 Du sollst keinen anderen Gott haben neben mir.

Not it will be[long] (to you gods other *Lp) on (face my. *Lp)

4 Du sollst dir keinen Götzen verfertigen, noch irgend ein Abbild von etwas, was droben im Himmel oder unten auf der Erde oder im Wasser unter der Erde ist.

Not you must make (for yourself *Lp) an image - and any (form *Lp) (which *Lbp) [is] in the heavens - (above *Lp) (and which *Lbp) ([is] on the earth beneath and which [is] in the waters - from under to the earth. *Lp)

5 Du sollst dich vor solchen nicht niederwerfen, noch sie verehren; denn ich Jahwe, dein Gott, bin ein eifersüchtiger Gott, der die Verschuldung der Väter ahndet an den Kindern, den Enkeln und Urenkeln derer, die mich hassen,

Not (you must bow down to them *Lp) and not (you must be enticed to serve them *Lp) for I Yahweh God your [am] a God jealous visiting iniquity of fathers on children on a third generation and on a fourth generation (of [those who] hate me. *Lp)

6 aber Gnade erweist solchen, die mich lieben und meine Befehle beobachten, auf Tausende hinaus.

(And doing covenant loyalty to thousands *Lp) to [those who] love me and to [those who] keep commandments my.

7 Du sollst den Namen Jahwes, deines Gottes, nicht freventlich aussprechen; denn Jahwe läßt den nicht ungestraft, der seinen Namen freventlich ausspricht.

Not you must take [the] name of Yahweh God your for emptiness for not he will leave unpunished Yahweh [the one] who he will take name his for emptiness.

8 Denke daran, den Sabbattag heilig zu halten.

(Remember *Lp) ([the] day of the sabbath to set apart as holy it. *Lp)

9 Sechs Tage hindurch sollst du arbeiten und alle deine Geschäfte verrichten.

(Six days you will labor and you will do *Lp) all (work your. *Lp)

10 Aber der siebente Tag ist ein Jahwe, deinem Gotte, geweihter Sabbat; da sollst du gar kein Geschäft verrichten, weder du selbst, noch dein Sohn oder deine Tochter, dein Sklave noch deine Sklavin, noch dein Hausvieh, noch der Fremde, der sich in deinen Ortschaften aufhält.

And [the] day (seventh [is] a sabbath - *Lp) to Yahweh (God your *Lp) not (you must do *Lp) any (work *Lp) you - and son your (and daughter your [male] servant your and female servant your and livestock your and sojourner your who [is] in gates your. *Lp)

11 Denn im Verlaufe von sechs Tagen hat Jahwe den Himmel und die Erde, das Meer und alles, was in ihnen ist, gemacht; hierauf ruhte er am siebenten Tage. Daher hat Jahwe den Sabbattag gesegnet und für heilig erklärt.

For six days he made Yahweh the heavens and the earth the sea and all that [is] in them and he rested on the day seventh there-fore he blessed Yahweh [the] day of the sabbath and he set apart as holy it.

12 Sei ehrerbietig gegen deinen Vater und deine Mutter, damit du lange lebest auf dem Boden, den dir Jahwe, dein Gott, zu eigen geben wird.

Honor father your and mother your so that they may be long! days your on the land which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you.

13 Du sollst nicht morden.

(Not you must murder. *Lp)

14 Du sollst nicht ehebrechen.

(Not you must commit adultery. *Lp)

15 Du sollst nicht stehlen.

(Not you must steal. *Lp)

16 Du sollst gegen deinen Nächsten nicht als falscher Zeuge aussagen.

Not you must testify against neighbor your testimony of falsehood.

17 Du sollst nicht Verlangen tragen nach deines Nächsten Hause. Du sollst nicht Verlangen tragen nach deines Nächsten Weibe, noch nach seinem Sklaven, seiner Sklavin, seinem Ochsen, seinem Esel, noch nach irgend etwas, was deinem Nächsten gehört.

Not you must covet [the] house of neighbor your not you must covet [the] wife of neighbor your and [male] servant his and female servant his and ox his and donkey his and all that [belongs] to neighbor your.

18 Als aber das ganze Volk die Donnerschläge und die Blitze, das Trompetengeschmetter und den rauchenden Berg wahrnahm, da fürchtete sich das Volk und zitterte und blieb in der Ferne stehen.

And all the people [were] seeing the thunder claps and the lightning and [the] sound of the ram's horn and the mountain smoking and it saw the people and they trembled and they stood from a distance.

19 Und sie sprachen zu Mose: Sprich du mit uns; wir wollen es gern anhören! Gott selbst aber soll lieber nicht mit uns reden, sonst müssen wir sterben.

And they said to Moses speak you with us so let us listen and may not he speak with us God lest we should die.

20 Mose erwiderte dem Volke: habt keine Angst; denn um euch zu prüfen ist Gott gekommen, und damit Furcht vor ihm euch innewohne, daß ihr nicht sündigt.

And he said Moses to the people may not you be afraid for in order to put to [the] test you he has come God and in order that may be fear his on faces your to not you will sin.

21 Da blieb das Volk in der Ferne stehen, während Mose an das dunkle Gewölk herantrat, in welchem sich Gott befand.

And it stood the people from a distance and Moses he drew near to the thick darkness where [was] there God.

22 Jahwe aber sprach zu Mose: So sollst du zu den Israeliten sprechen: Ihr habt gesehen, daß ich vom Himmel her mit euch geredet habe.

And he said Yahweh to Moses thus you will say to [the] people of Israel you you have seen that from the heavens I have spoken with you.

23 Verfertigt euch neben mir keine silbernen Götzen; auch goldene Götzen sollt ihr euch nicht verfertigen.

Not you must make! with me gods of silver and gods of gold not you must make for yourselves.

24 Einen Opferaltar aus Erde sollst du mir errichten und darauf deine Brandopfer und Heilsopfer, deine Schafe und Rinder opfern; an jeder Stätte, die ich dazu bestimmen werde, daß man mich daselbst verehre, werde ich zu dir kommen und dich segnen.

An altar of earth you will make for me and you will sacrifice on it burnt offerings your and peace offerings your sheep your and cattle your in every place where I will cause to be remembered name my I will come to you and I will bless you.

25 Wenn du mir aber einen Altar aus Steinen errichtest, so darfst du ihn nicht aus behauenen Steinen aufbauen, denn wenn du sie mit eisernen Werkzeugen bearbeitest, entweihst du sie.

And if an altar of stones you will make for me not you must build them hewn [stone] for tool your you have wielded on it and you have profaned it.

26 Auch darfst du nicht auf Stufen zu meinem Altar heransteigen, daß nicht etwa deine Schamteile vor ihm entblößt werden.

And not you must go up on steps to altar my that not it will be uncovered nakedness your on it.
