Ester 2

1 Nach diesen Begebenheiten, als sich der Zorn des Königs Ahasveros gelegt hatte, gedachte er der Vasthi und dessen, was sie gethan hatte, und dessen, was über sie beschlossen worden war.

After the things these when subsided [the] anger of the king Ahasuerus he remembered Vashti and [that] which she had done and [that] which it had been decreed on her.

2 Da sprachen die Höflinge des Königs, die ihn bedienten: Man suche für den König nach jugendlich schönen Jungfrauen,

And they said [the] young men of the king [who were] serving him let people seek for the king young women virgins good of appearance.

3 und der König bestelle Beamte in allen Provinzen seines Königreichs, daß sie alle jugendlich schönen Jungfrauen zusammenbringen nach der Burg Susa ins Frauenhaus unter die Obhut Hegais, des königlichen Kämmerers, des Aufsehers über die Frauen, und nehme die nötigen Vorbereitungen mit ihnen vor;

And let him appoint the king appointees in all [the] provinces of kingdom his and let them gather every girl virgin good of appearance to Susa the citadel to [the] house of the women into [the] hand of Hegai [the] eunuch of the king [the] keeper of the women and let him give rubbings their.

4 und das Mädchen, welches dem Könige gefällt, soll Königin werden an Stelle Vasthis. Dieser Vorschlag gefiel dem König und er that also.

And the young woman who she will be good in [the] eyes of the king she will reign in place of Vashti and it was good the word in [the] eyes of the king and he did thus.

5 Es war aber in der Burg Susa ein jüdischer Mann, Namens Mardachai, ein Sohn Jairs, des Sohnes Simeis, des Sohnes Kis', ein Benjaminit,

A man Jewish he was in Susa the citadel and name his [was] Mordecai [the] son of Jair [the] son of Shimei [the] son of Kish a man a Jaminite.

6 der aus Jerusalem weggeführt worden war zugleich mit den Weggeführten, die mit Jechonja, dem Könige von Juda, weggeführt wurden, die Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, wegführte.

Who he had been taken into exile from Jerusalem with the exile[s] which it had been taken into exile with Jeconiah [the] king of Judah whom he had taken into exile Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon.

7 Und er war der Pflegevater Hadassas - das ist Esther -, der Tochter seines Oheims, da sie weder Vater noch Mutter hatte. Das Mädchen war von herrlicher Gestalt und schönem Ansehen, und als ihr Vater und ihre Mutter starben, hatte sie Mardachai als Tochter angenommen.

And he was raising Hadassah that [is] Esther [the] daughter of uncle his for not [belonged] to her a father and a mother and the young woman [was] beautiful of shape and good of appearance and at [the] death of father her and mother her he took her Mordecai of him to a daughter.

8 Als nun der Erlaß des Königs und sein Gesetz kund wurde, und man viele Mädchen nach der Burg Susa unter die Obhut Hegais zusammenbrachte, da wurde auch Esther in den Palast des Königs unter die Obhut Hegais, des Aufsehers über die Frauen, geholt.

And it was when were heard [the] edict of the king and orders his and when were gathered young women many to Susa the citadel into [the] hand of Hegai and she was taken Esther to [the] house of the king into [the] hand of Hegai [the] keeper of the women.

9 Und das Mädchen gefiel ihm und sie fand Gnade vor ihm; daher beeilte er sich, sie vorzubereiten, ihr die geignete Kost zu reichen und ihr die sieben ihr zukommenden Dienerinnen aus dem königlichen Palaste zu verschaffen; und er versetzte sie und ihre Dienerinnen in die besten Gemächer des Frauenhauses.

And she was good the young woman in eyes his and she bore favor before him and he hastened rubbings her and portions her to give to her and [the] seven the servant girls chosen to give to her from [the] house of the king and he moved her and servant girls her to [the] good [place] of [the] house of the women.

10 Esther hatte ihr Volk und ihre Herkunft nicht verraten; denn Mardachai hatte ihr anbefohlen, es nicht zu verraten.

11 Mardachai aber ging Tag für Tag vor dem Hofe des Frauenhauses umher, um zu erkunden, ob es Esther wohlgehe, und was mit ihr geschehen werde.

And on every day and day Mordecai [was] walking back and forth to front of [the] court of [the] house of the women to know [the] welfare of Esther and what? was it done with her.

12 Und jedesmal, wenn die Reihe an ein Mädchen kam, sich zum Könige Ahasveros hineinzubegeben, nach Ablauf der zwölfmonatlichen Frist, in der sie gemäß den für die Frauen geltenden Vorschriften behandelt worden war, - denn so viel Zeit verging über ihrer Vorbereitung: sechs Monate über der vermittelst Balsamöl und sechs Monate über der vermittelst Spezereien und anderen Mitteln zur Vorbereitung der Frauen -:

And when arrived [the] turn of a young woman and a young woman to go - to the king Ahasuerus from [the] end to be for her according to [the] regulation of the women two plus ten month[s] for thus they were completed [the] days of rubbings their six months with [the] oil of myrrh and six months with balsam oil and with [the] rubbings of women.

13 wenn sich also das Mädchen zum Könige hineinbegab, so mußte man ihr alles, was sie verlangte, geben, daß es mit ihr aus dem Frauenhause in den königlichen Palast gelange.

And in this [way] the young woman [was] going into the king all that she said it was given to her to go with her from [the] house of the women to [the] house of the king.

14 Am Abend begab sie sich hinein und am Morgen kehrte sie zurück, nunmehr ins zweite Frauenhaus, unter die Obhut Saasgas', des königlichen Kämmerers, des Aufsehers über die Kebsweiber; sie durfte dann nicht wieder zum Könige kommen, außer wenn der König Gefallen an ihr gefunden hatte, und sie ausdrücklich berufen wurde.

In the evening - she [was] going and in the morning she [was] returning to [the] house of the women second in [the] hand of Shaashgaz [the] eunuch of the king [the] keeper of the concubines not she went again into the king that except he delighted in her the king and she was summoned by name.

15 Als nun an Esther, die Tochter Abihails, des Oheims Mardachais, der sie als Tochter angenommen hatte, die Reihe kam, daß sie sich zum Könige hineinbegeben sollte, verlangte sie nichts, außer was Hegai, der Kämmerer des Königs, der Aufseher über die Frauen angab. Und Esther erwarb sich Gunst bei allen, die sie sahen.

And when arrived [the] turn of Esther [the] daughter of Abihail [the] uncle of Mordecai whom he had taken of him to a daughter to go to the king not she requested anything that except [that] which he said Hegai [the] eunuch of the king [the] keeper of the women and she was Esther bearing favor in [the] eyes of all [those who] saw her.

16 Und so ward Esther zum König Ahasveros in seinen königlichen Palast geholt, im zehnten Monate - das ist der Monat Thebet -, im siebenten Jahre seiner Regierung.

And she was taken Esther to the king Ahasuerus into [the] house of royalty his in the month tenth that [is] [the] month of Tebeth in year seven of reign his.

17 Und der König gewann Esther lieb, mehr als alle die anderen Frauen, und sie erwarb sich Gunst und Gnade vor ihm, mehr als alle die anderen Jungfrauen. Und er setzte das königliche Diadem auf ihr Haupt und machte sie an Stelle Vasthis zur Königin.

And he loved the king Esther more than all the women and she bore favor and favor before him more than all the virgins and he put a crown of royalty on head her and he made queen her in place of Vashti.

18 Sodann veranstaltete der König ein großes Gastmahl für alle seine Fürsten und Diener, das Gastmahl zu Ehren Esthers, und auch für die Provinzen veranstaltete er eine Lustbarkeit und bewilligte dazu eine Spende mit königlicher Freigebigkeit.

And he made the king a feast great for all officials his and servants his [the] feast of Esther and a holiday for the provinces he made and he gave tribute according to [the] hand of the king.

19 Als man nun ein zweites Mal Jungfrauen zusammenbrachte, während Mardachai gerade im Thore des Königs verweilte -

And when were gathered virgins a second [time] and Mordecai [was] sitting at [the] gate of the king.

20 Esther aber hatte ihre Herkunft und ihr Volk nicht verraten, wie Mardachai ihr anbefohlen hatte, indem Esther den Befehl des Mardachai ausführte, ebenso wie damals, als sie noch in Pflege bei ihm war -:

Not Esther [was] telling kindred her and people her just as he had commanded to her Mordecai and [the] command of Mordecai Esther [was] doing just as she had done in guardianship with him.

21 in jenen Tagen also, während Mardachai gerade im Thore des Königs verweilte, gerieten Bigthan und Theres, zwei Kämmerer des Königs, die zu den Schwellenhütern gehörten, in Zorn, und trachteten darnach, Hand an den König Ahasveros zu legen.

In the days those and Mordecai [was] sitting at [the] gate of the king he was angry Bigthan and Teresh two of [the] eunuchs of the king from [the] guards of the threshold and they sought to stretch out a hand on the king Ahasuerus.

22 Aber die Sache wurde Mardachai kund, und er teilte es der Königin Esther mit, und Esther sagte es im Namen Mardachais dem Könige.

And it was made known the matter to Mordecai and he told to Esther the queen and she spoke Esther to the king in [the] name of Mordecai.

23 Als nun die Sache untersucht und richtig befunden ward, wurden beide an den Galgen gehängt. Und der Hergang wurde im Buche der Zeitgeschichte für den König aufgezeichnet.

And it was sought the matter and it was found and they were hanged [the] two of them on a gallows and it was written in [the] book of [the] matters of the days before the king.
