Psalm 20

1 Dem Vorsänger. Ein Psalm von David. Jehova erhöre dich am Tage der Drangsal, der Name des Gottes Jakobs setze dich in Sicherheit;

To victorie, the salm of Dauid. The Lord here thee in the dai of tribulacioun; the name of God of Jacob defende thee.

2 Er sende deine Hilfe aus dem Heiligtum, und von Zion aus unterstütze er dich;

Sende he helpe to thee fro the hooli place; and fro Syon defende he thee.

3 Er gedenke aller deiner Speisopfer, und dein Brandopfer wolle er annehmen! (Sela)

Be he myndeful of al thi sacrifice; and thi brent sacrifice be maad fat.

4 Er gebe dir nach deinem Herzen, und alle deine Ratschläge erfülle er!

Yyue he to thee aftir thin herte; and conferme he al thi counsel.

5 Jubeln wollen wir über deine Rettung, und im Namen unseres Gottes das Panier erheben. Jehova erfülle alle deine Bitten!

We schulen be glad in thin helthe; and we schulen be magnyfied in the name of oure God.

6 Jetzt weiß ich, daß Jehova seinen Gesalbten rettet; aus seinen heiligen Himmeln wird er ihn erhören durch die Machttaten des Heils seiner Rechten.

The Lord fille alle thin axyngis; nowe Y haue knowe, that the Lord hath maad saaf his crist. He schal here hym fro his hooly heuene; the helthe of his riyt hond is in poweris.

7 Diese gedenken der Wagen und jene der Rosse, wir aber gedenken des Namens Jehovas, unseres Gottes.

Thes in charis, and these in horsis; but we schulen inwardli clepe in the name of oure Lord God.

8 Jene krümmen sich und fallen, wir aber stehen und halten uns aufrecht.

Thei ben boundun, and felden doun; but we han rise, and ben reisid.

9 Jehova, rette! Der König erhöre uns am Tage unseres Rufens!

Lord, make thou saaf the kyng; and here thou vs in the dai in which we inwardli clepen thee.
