Psaumes 6
1 Au maître chantre. Avec les instruments à cordes. En octave. Cantique de David. Éternel, ne me châtie pas selon ta colère, et ne me punis pas selon ton courroux!
Yahweh, do not punish me when you are angry [with me]; Do not even rebuke/scold me [when you are angry].
2 Sois-moi propice, Éternel! car je suis défaillant; guéris-moi, Éternel! car mes os sont ébranlés,
Yahweh, be kind to me and heal me because I have become weak. My body [SYN] shakes because I am experiencing much pain.
3 et mon âme est fort ébranlée: mais toi, Éternel, jusques à quand?…
Yahweh, I am greatly distressed. How long ([must I endure this/will it be before you help me]) [RHQ]?
4 Reviens, Éternel, délivre mon âme, sauve-moi pour l'amour de ta grâce!
Yahweh, please come and rescue me. Save me because you faithfully love me.
5 Car dans la mort ta mémoire n'est pas rappelée, et dans les Enfers qui pourrait te louer? (Sheol h7585)
I will not be able to praise you after I die [RHQ]; No one in the place of the dead praises you. (Sheol h7585)
6 Je m'épuise en soupirs, et chaque nuit je baigne mon lit de pleurs, j'en inonde ma couche.
I am exhausted/groan [from my pain]. At night I cry very much, with the result that my bed and my pillow become wet from my tears.
7 Mes yeux s'éteignent dans le chagrin, ils dépérissent à cause de tous mes ennemis.
My tears blur my eyes so much that I cannot see well. My eyes have become weak because my enemies [have caused me to cry constantly].
8 Loin de moi, vous tous les artisans de malice! car l'Éternel entend la voix de mes pleurs;
You people who do evil things, get away from me!
9 l'Éternel entend ma supplication, l'Éternel accueille ma prière.
Yahweh heard me when I was crying and called out to him [to help me], and he will answer my prayer.
10 Tous mes ennemis sont confus, saisis d'un grand effroi, ils reculent confondus tout-à-coup.
[When that happens], all my enemies will be ashamed, and they will [also] be terrified. They will get away [from me] and suddenly [leave me] because they will be disgraced.
