Psaumes 13

1 Au maître chantre. Cantique de David. Jusques à quand, Éternel, m'oublieras-tu toujours? Jusques à quand me cacheras-tu ta face?

Unto the end. A Psalm of David. How long, O Lord? Will you forget me until the end? How long will you turn your face away from me?

2 Jusques à quand aurai-je l'inquiétude dans l'âme, et tout le jour le chagrin dans le cœur? Jusques à quand mon ennemi s'élèvera-t-il au-dessus de moi?

How long can I take counsel in my soul, sorrowing in my heart throughout the day?

3 Ah! regarde, exauce-moi, Éternel, mon Dieu! Fais luire ta clarté dans mes yeux, afin que je ne m'endorme pas du sommeil de la mort;

How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

4 que mon ennemi ne dise pas: « Je l'ai vaincu! » et que ma défaite ne réjouisse pas mes oppresseurs!

Look upon me and listen to me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I fall asleep forever in death,

5 Mais, en ta bonté je me confie! Ton secours réjouira mon cœur:

lest at any time my enemy may say, “I have prevailed against him.” Those who trouble me will exult, if I have been disturbed.

6 je louerai l'Éternel du bien qu'Il m'aura fait.

But I have hoped in your mercy. My heart will exult in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, who assigns good things to me. And I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord Most High.
