Luc 17
1 Or il dit à ses disciples: « Il est inévitable qu'il arrive des scandales, néanmoins malheur à celui par lequel ils arrivent;
And he said unto his disciples: —It is, impossible, that occasions of stumbling should not come, notwithstanding, alas! for him through whom they do come:
2 il lui est plus avantageux qu'on lui mette au col une pierre meulière, et qu'on le précipite dans la mer, que de scandaliser un seul de ces petits.
It profiteth him, if, a mill-stone, is hung about his neck, and he is cast into the sea, than that he cause, one, of these little ones, to stumble.
3 Prenez garde à vous-mêmes: Si ton frère a péché, reprends-le, et s'il se repent, pardonne-lui;
Be taking heed to yourselves, —If thy brother sin, rebuke him, and, if he repent, forgive him;
4 et si, sept fois le jour, il a péché contre toi, et que sept fois il revienne vers toi, en disant: « Je me repens, » tu lui pardonneras. »
Even if, seven times a day, he sin against thee, and, seven times, turn to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
5 Et les apôtres dirent au seigneur: « Mets en nous plus de foi. »
And the apostles said unto the Lord—Bestow on us faith!
6 Mais le seigneur dit: « Si vous aviez de la foi, gros comme un grain de moutarde, vous diriez à ce mûrier-ci: « Déracine-toi, et plante-toi dans la mer; » et il vous obéirait.
And the Lord said—If ye have faith like a grain of mustard-seed, ye should be saying unto [this] mulberry-tree—Be uprooted! and be planted in the sea, —and it should obey you.
7 Mais lequel de vous, ayant un esclave qui conduit la charrue ou paît les troupeaux, lui dira, à son retour des champs: « Viens vite te mettre à table? »
But, who from among you, having, a servant, plowing or keeping sheep, when he hath come in out of the field, will say to him—Straightway, come, and recline; —
8 Est-ce qu'au contraire il ne lui dira pas: « Prépare-moi à manger, et ceins-toi pour me servir jusques à ce que j'aie mangé et bu, et après cela, toi, tu mangeras et tu boiras? »
on the contrary, will not say to him—Make somewhat ready, that I may dine, —and, girding thyself, be ministering unto me, until I have eaten and drunk; and, after these things, thou, shalt eat and drink?
9 Est-ce qu'il sait gré à l'esclave de ce qu'il a fait ce qui lui était prescrit?
Doth he offer thanks unto the servant, because he hath done the things enjoined?
10 De même vous aussi, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous a été prescrit, dites: Nous sommes des esclaves inutiles, c'est ce que nous devions faire que nous avons fait. »
Thus, ye also, when ye have done all the things enjoined upon you, say—Unprofitable servants, are we, —What we were bound to do, we have done!
11 Et il advint, pendant le voyage vers Jérusalem, qu'il passait entre la Samarie et la Galilée.
And it came to pass, during the journey unto Jerusalem, that, he, was going through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Et comme il entrait dans un village, vinrent à sa rencontre dix hommes lépreux, qui se levèrent de loin,
And, as he was entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood still, afar off;
13 et ils haussèrent la voix en disant: « Jésus, maître, aie pitié de nous! »
and, they, lifted up a voice, saying—Jesus! Master! have mercy on us!
14 Ce que voyant, il leur dit: « Allez vous montrer aux prêtres. » Et il advint, pendant qu'ils s'y rendaient, qu'ils furent guéris.
And, beholding, he said unto them—Go your way, and show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they withdrew, they were cleansed.
15 Or l'un d'entre eux voyant qu'il avait été guéri revint glorifiant Dieu à haute voix,
But, one from among them, beholding that he was healed, returned, with a loud voice, glorifying God, —
16 et il tomba la face contre terre à ses pieds en lui rendant grâces; et c'était un Samaritain.
and fell prostrate at his feet, giving him thanks; and, he, was a Samaritan.
17 Mais Jésus prenant la parole dit: « Les dix n'ont-ils pas été guéris? Mais les neuf où sont-ils?
And Jesus, answering, said—Were not, the ten, cleansed? [but, ] where, are, the nine?
18 On ne les a pas vus revenir pour donner gloire à Dieu, sauf cet étranger. »
Have none been found returning to give glory to God, save this one of another race?
19 Et il lui dit: « Lève-toi, va-t-en. »
And he said unto him—Arise and go thy way: thy faith, hath saved thee.
20 Or ayant été interrogé par les pharisiens sur l'époque de la venue du royaume de Dieu, il leur répliqua: « Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas de manière à être épié,
And, being questioned by the Pharisees, When cometh the kingdom of God? he answered them and said—The kingdom of God cometh not with narrow watching;
21 et l'on ne dira point: « Le voici ici, ou là. » Car voici, le royaume de Dieu est au milieu de vous. »
Neither shall they say—Lo, here! or, There. For lo! the kingdom of God, is, among you.
22 Mais il dit aux disciples: « Des jours viendront, où vous désirerez voir un des jours du fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez pas;
But he said unto the disciples—There will come days—when ye will long to see, one of the days of the Son of Man, and shall not see.
23 et on vous dira: « Le voici ici, ou le voilà là; » n'y courez pas,
And they will say unto you, Lo there! or, Lo here! Do not [depart, and do not] pursue.
24 car, comme l'éclair flamboyant brille de l'une des extrémités du ciel jusques à l'autre extrémité du ciel, il en sera de même du fils de l'homme;
For, just as, the lightning, flashing out of the one part under heaven, unto the other part under heaven, shineth, so, shall be, the Son of Man.
25 mais il faut d'abord qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
But, first, he must needs suffer, many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 Et comme il est advenu du temps de Noé, de même adviendra-t-il aussi du temps du fils de l'homme;
And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so, will it be, even in the days of the Son of Man:
27 on mangeait, on buvait, les hommes prenaient des femmes et on donnait aux femmes des maris, jusques au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche; et le déluge survint et les fit tous périr.
They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, —until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 De même, comme il advint du temps de Lot, on mangeait, on buvait, on achetait, on vendait, on plantait, on bâtissait,
In like manner, as it came to pass in the days of Lot, They were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building, —
29 mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre et elle les fit tous périr,
But, on the day Lot came out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all: —
30 de même en sera-t-il le jour où le fils de l'homme sera révélé.
According to the same things, will it be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
31 En ce jour-là, que celui qui sera sur le toit, et dont les ustensiles sont dans la maison, ne descende point pour les prendre, et que celui qui est aux champs ne revienne pas non plus en arrière:
In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his utensils in the house, let him not go down, to take them away! And, he that is in the field, in like manner, let him not turn unto the things behind,
32 souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot.
Bear in mind the wife of Lot! Whosoever shall seek to make his life his own, shall lose it,
33 Mais celui qui aura cherché à rester en possession de sa vie la perdra, tandis que celui qui l'aura perdue la conservera.
But, whosoever shall lose it, shall give it a living birth.
34 Je vous le déclare, cette nuit-là deux personnes seront sur un lit, l'une sera prise et l'autre sera laissée.
I say unto you—On the selfsame night, there shall be two men on [one] bed, —the one, shall be taken near, and, the other, left behind;
35 Deux femmes moudront ensemble, l'une sera prise, mais l'autre sera laissée. »
There shall be two women grinding together, —the one, shall be taken near, and, the other, left behind.
36 [Deux hommes seront dans la campagne, l'un sera pris et l'autre sera laissé.]
37 Et prenant la parole ils lui dirent: « Où, Seigneur? » Mais il leur dit: « Là où est le corps, c'est là aussi que se rassembleront les aigles. »
And, answering, they say unto him—Where, Lord? And, he, said unto them—Where the body is, there, the vultures also, will be gathered together.
