Psaumes 138

1 De David. Je te rendrai hommage de tout mon cœur; en ta présence, ô Dieu, je te célébrerai.

I will praise you with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto you.

2 Je me prosternerai dans ton saint tabernacle, et je louerai ton nom pour ta bonté et ta bienveillance; car tu as élevé au-dessus de tout ton nom, ta parole.

I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your loving kindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all your name.

3 Le jour où je t’appelai, tu me répondis, tu me donnas du courage en fortifiant mon âme.

In the day when I cried you answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul.

4 Tous les rois de la terre, ô Eternel, te rendront hommage, après avoir entendu les paroles de ta bouche;

All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth.

5 ils chanteront les voies du Seigneur, car grande est la gloire de l’Eternel.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

6 Oui, l’Eternel réside dans les hauteurs et il voit celui qui est humble, comme il discerne de loin celui qui est élevé.

Though the LORD be high, yet has he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knows far off.

7 Quand je m’avance en pleine détresse, c’est toi qui préserves ma vie; tu appesantis ta main sur mes ennemis en fureur, et ta droite me prête assistance.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me: you shall stretch forth your hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and your right hand shall save me.

8 L’Eternel mettra le comble à ses bienfaits envers moi; ta bonté, ô Seigneur, dure à jamais: ne laisse pas inachevées les œuvres de tes mains.

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: your mercy, O LORD, endures for ever: forsake not the works of your own hands.
