2 Peter 1
1 Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who did obtain a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
Simón Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesu Cristo, a los que han alcanzado fe igualmente preciosa con nosotros en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesu Cristo.
2 Grace to you, and peace be multiplied in the acknowledgement of God and of Jesus our Lord!
Gracia y paz os sean multiplicadas en el conocimiento de Dios, y de Jesús nuestro Señor:
3 As all things to us His divine power (the things pertaining unto life and piety) hath given, through the acknowledgement of him who did call us through glory and worthiness,
Como todas las cosas que pertenecen a la vida y a la piedad, nos sean dadas de su divina potencia, por medio del conocimiento de aquel que nos ha llamado por su gloria y virtud,
4 through which to us the most great and precious promises have been given, that through these ye may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption in the world in desires.
Por las cuales nos son dadas preciosas y grandísimas promesas; para que por ellas fueseis hechos participantes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo huido de la corrupción que está en el mundo por concupiscencia.
5 And this same also — all diligence having brought in besides, superadd in your faith the worthiness, and in the worthiness the knowledge,
Vosotros también, poniendo toda diligencia en esto mismo, mostrád en vuestra fe virtud; y en la virtud ciencia;
6 and in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety,
Y en la ciencia templaza; y en la templaza paciencia; y en la paciencia temor de Dios;
7 and in the piety the brotherly kindness, and in the brotherly kindness the love;
Y en el temor de Dios amor hermanable; y en el amor hermanable caridad.
8 for these things being to you and abounding, do make [you] neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Porque si en vosotros hay estas cosas, y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos, ni estériles en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo.
9 for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins;
Empero el que no tiene estas cosas es ciego, y no puede ver de lejos, estando olvidado de la purgación de sus antiguos pecados.
10 wherefore, the rather, brethren, be diligent to make stedfast your calling and choice, for these things doing, ye may never stumble,
Por lo cual, hermanos, tanto más trabajád de hacer firme vuestra vocación y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás.
11 for so, richly shall be superadded to you the entrance into the age-during reign of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
Porque de esta manera os será abundantemente administrada la entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesu Cristo. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore, I will not be careless always to remind you concerning these things, though, having known them, and having been established in the present truth,
Por lo cual yo no me descuidaré de recordaros siempre estas cosas, aunque vosotros las sepáis, y estéis confirmados en la verdad presente.
13 and I think right, so long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up in reminding [you],
Porque tengo por justo, (en tanto que estoy en este tabernáculo, ) de excitaros por medio de recordamientos:
14 having known that soon is the laying aside of my tabernacle, even as also our Lord Jesus Christ did shew to me,
Sabiendo que brevemente tengo de dejar éste mi tabernáculo, como nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo me ha declarado.
15 and I will be diligent that also at every time ye have, after my outgoing, power to make to yourselves the remembrance of these things.
También yo procuraré con diligencia, que después de mi fallecimiento vosotros podáis tener siempre memoria de estas cosas.
16 For, skilfully devised fables not having followed out, we did make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but eye-witnesses having become of his majesty —
Porque nosotros no os habemos dado a conocer el poder y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo, siguiendo fábulas por arte compuestas; sino como habiendo con nuestros propios ojos visto su majestad.
17 for having received from God the Father honour and glory, such a voice being borne to him by the excellent glory: 'This is My Son — the beloved, in whom I was well pleased;'
Porque él había recibido de Dios Padre honra y gloria, cuando una tal voz fue a él enviada de la magnífica gloria: Este es el amado Hijo mío, en el cual yo me he agradado.
18 and this voice we — we did hear, out of heaven borne, being with him in the holy mount.
Y nosotros oímos esta voz enviada del cielo, cuando estábamos juntamente con él en el monte santo.
19 And we have more firm the prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till day may dawn, and a morning star may arise — in your hearts;
Tenemos también la palabra profética más firme: a la cual hacéis bien de estar atentos como a una candela que alumbra en un lugar oscuro, hasta que el día esclarezca, y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones:
20 this first knowing, that no prophecy of the Writing doth come of private exposition,
Entendiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es de privado desatamiento.
21 for not by will of man did ever prophecy come, but by the Holy Spirit borne on holy men of God spake.
Porque la profecía no fue en los tiempos pasados traída por voluntad humana; mas los santos hombres de Dios hablaron, siendo inspirados del Espíritu Santo.
