John 17

1 These thingis Jhesus spak, and whanne he hadde cast vp hise iyen in to heuene, he seide, Fadir, the our cometh, clarifie thi sone, that thi sone clarifie thee.

So sprach Jesus. Alsdann erhob er seine Augen gegen Himmel und betete: "Vater, die Stunde ist gekommen; verherrliche Deinen Sohn, damit der Sohn dich verherrliche.

2 As thou hast youun to hym power on ech fleisch, that al thing that thou hast youun to hym, he yyue to hem euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)

Du hast ihm Macht verliehen über alles Fleisch, damit er allen, die du ihm anvertraut hast, ewiges Leben schenke. (aiōnios g166)

3 And this is euerlastynge lijf, that thei knowe thee very God aloone, and whom thou hast sent, Jhesu Crist. (aiōnios g166)

Das aber ist das ewige Leben: dich zu erkennen, den einzig wahren Gott, und den, den du gesandt hast, Jesus Christus. (aiōnios g166)

4 Y haue clarified thee on the erthe, Y haue endid the werk, that thou hast youun to me to do.

Ich habe dich auf Erden verherrlicht; ich habe das Werk vollbracht, das du mir aufgetragen hast, daß ich es vollenden soll.

5 And now, fadir, clarifie thou me at thi silf, with the clerenesse that Y hadde at thee, bifor the world was maad.

Und nun, Vater, verherrliche du mich bei dir mit der Herrlichkeit, die ich bei dir hatte, bevor die Welt entstand.

6 Y haue schewid thi name to tho men, whiche thou hast youun to me of the world; thei weren thine, and thou hast youun hem to me, and thei han kept thi word.

Ich habe deinen Namen den Menschen kundgetan, die du mir aus der Welt gegeben hast. Dein waren sie, und du hast sie mir anvertraut, und sie haben dein Wort bewahrt.

7 And now thei han knowun, that alle thingis that thou hast youun to me, ben of thee.

Nun wissen sie, daß alles, was du mir gegeben hast, von dir kommt,

8 For the wordis that thou hast youun to me, Y yaf to hem; and thei han takun, and han knowun verili, that Y wente out fro thee; and thei bileueden, that thou sentist me.

daß ich die Worte, die du mir anvertraut hast, ihnen gegeben habe. Sie haben diese angenommen und haben wirklich erkannt, daß ich von dir ausgegangen bin, und haben geglaubt, daß du mich gesandt hast.

9 Y preie for hem, Y preye not for the world, but for hem that thou hast youun to me, for thei ben thine.

Für sie bitte ich. Nicht für die Welt bitte ich; für die vielmehr, die du mir gegeben hast; sie sind ja dein.

10 And alle my thingis ben thine, and thi thingis ben myne; and Y am clarified in hem.

Denn alles Meinige ist dein, und all das Deinige ist mein. In ihnen bin ich verherrlicht.

11 And now Y am not in the world, and these ben in the world, and Y come to thee. Hooli fadir, kepe hem in thi name, whiche thou yauest to me, that thei ben oon, as we ben.

Ich bin zwar nicht mehr in der Welt - sie sind noch in der Welt -, ich gehe zu dir. Heiliger Vater, erhalte sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast, damit sie eins seien so wie wir.

12 While Y was with hem, Y kepte hem in thi name; thilke that thou yauest to me, Y kepte, and noon of hem perischide, but the sone of perdicioun, that the scripture be fulfillid.

Solange ich bei ihnen war, habe ich sie in deinem Namen bewahrt, den du mir gegeben hast. Ich wachte, und kein einziger aus ihnen ist verlorengegangen, als nur der Sohn des Verderbens, damit die Schrift erfüllt würde.

13 But now Y come to thee, and Y speke these thingis in the world, that thei haue my ioie fulfillid in hem silf.

Nun komme ich zu dir und rede dies in der Welt, damit sie meine Freude vollkommen in sich haben.

14 Y yaf to hem thi word, and the world hadde hem in hate; for thei ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.

Ich habe ihnen dein Wort gegeben; die Welt jedoch hat sie mit Haß verfolgt; denn sie sind nicht von dieser Welt, so wie auch ich nicht von der Welt bin.

15 Y preye not, that thou take hem awei fro the world, but that thou kepe hem fro yuel.

Ich bitte nicht: Nimm sie aus der Welt hinweg! sondern: Bewahre sie vor dem Bösen!

16 They ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.

Sie sind nicht von der Welt, so wie auch ich nicht von der Welt bin.

17 Halewe thou hem in treuth; thi word is treuthe.

Weihe sie in Wahrheit! Dein Wort ist Wahrheit.

18 As thou sentist me in to the world, also Y sente hem `in to the world.

Wie du mich in die Welt gesandt hast, so sende auch ich sie in die Welt.

19 And Y halewe my silf for hem, that also thei ben halewid in treuthe.

Für sie weihe ich mich selbst, auf daß auch sie in Wahrheit geweiht seien.

20 And Y preye not oneli for hem, but also for hem that schulden bileue in to me bi the word of hem;

Doch nicht für sie allein bitte ich, sondern auch für die, die durch ihr Wort den Glauben an mich finden,

21 that all ben oon, as thou, fadir, in me, and Y in thee, that also thei in vs be oon; that the world bileue, that thou hast sent me.

damit alle eins seien: so wie du, Vater, in mir bist und ich in dir bin, daß sie in uns eins seien, damit die Welt glaube, daß du mich gesandt hast.

22 And Y haue youun to hem the clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me, that thei ben oon,

Die Herrlichkeit, die du mir gegeben hast, habe ich ihnen gegeben, damit sie eins seien, wie wir eins sind:

23 as we ben oon; Y in hem, and thou in me, that thei be endid in to oon; and that the world knowe, that thou sentist me, and hast loued hem, as thou hast loued also me.

Ich in ihnen und du in mir, auf daß sie völlig eins seien, damit die Welt erkenne, daß du mich gesandt und sie geliebt hast.

24 Fadir, thei whiche thou yauest to me, Y wole that where Y am, that thei be with me, that thei see my clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me; for thou louedist me bifor the makyng of the world.

Vater, ich will, laß, die du mir gegeben hast, bei mir sein, wo ich bin, damit sie meine Herrlichkeit schauen, die du mir verliehen hast. Du hast mich ja vor der Grundlegung der Welt geliebt.

25 Fadir, riytfuli the world knew thee not, but Y knew thee, and these knewen, that thou sentist me.

Gerechter Vater! Die Welt hat dich nicht verstanden. Ich aber habe dich verstanden, auch diese haben verstanden, daß du mich gesandt hast.

26 And Y haue maad thi name knowun to hem, and schal make knowun; that the loue bi which thou `hast loued me, be in hem, and Y in hem.

Ich habe ihnen deinen Namen kundgetan und werde ihn ferner kund tun, damit die Liebe, mit der du mich geliebt hast, in ihnen sei und ich in ihnen."
