John 16
1 These thingis Y haue spokun to you, that ye be not sclaundrid.
"Das habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr nicht Anstoß nehmet.
2 Thei schulen make you with outen the synagogis, but the our cometh, that ech man that sleeth you, deme that he doith seruyce to God.
Man wird euch aus der Synagoge ausschließen; es kommt sogar die Stunde, da jeder, der euch tötet, meint, Gott einen Dienst zu erweisen.
3 And thei schulen do to you these thingis, for thei han not knowun the fadir, nether me.
Sie werden so handeln, weil sie weder den Vater noch mich verstanden haben.
4 But these thingis Y spak to you, that whanne the our `of hem schal come, ye haue mynde, that Y seide to you.
Dies habe ich euch gesagt, damit, wenn einmal die Stunde kommt, ihr euch an das erinnert, was ich euch gesagt habe. Ich habe bis jetzt nichts davon gesagt; ich war ja noch bei euch.
5 Y seide not to you these thingis fro the bigynnyng, for Y was with you. And now Y go to hym that sente me, and no man of you axith me, Whidur `thou goist?
Nun gehe ich zu dem, der mich gesandt hat, und keiner aus euch fragt mich: 'Wohin gehst du?'
6 but for Y haue spokun to you these thingis, heuynesse hath fulfillid youre herte.
Weil ich euch dies gesagt habe, hat Trauer euer Herz erfüllt.
7 But Y seie to you treuthe, it spedith to you, that Y go; for if Y go not forth, the coumfortour schal not come to you; but if Y go forth, Y schal sende hym to you.
Jedoch ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist gut für euch, wenn ich jetzt hingehe; denn wenn ich nicht hingehe, wird auch der Beistand nicht zu euch kommen. Doch gehe ich hin, so werde ich ihn euch senden.
8 And whanne he cometh, he schal repreue the world of synne, and of riytwisnesse, and of doom.
Wenn alsdann jener kommt, wird er der Welt es zum Bewußtsein bringen, was Sünde, was Gerechtigkeit, was Gericht ist.
9 Of synne, for thei han not bileued in me;
Sünde, weil sie nicht an mich geglaubt hat;
10 and of riytwisnesse, for Y go to the fadir, and now ye schulen not se me;
Gerechtigkeit, weil ich zum Vater gehe und ihr mich nicht mehr sehen werdet;
11 but of doom, for the prince of this world is now demed.
Gericht, weil der Fürst dieser Welt gerichtet ist.
12 Yit Y haue many thingis for to seie to you, but ye moun not bere hem now.
Noch vieles hätte ich euch zu sagen, doch ihr könnt es jetzt noch nicht ertragen.
13 But whanne thilke spirit of treuthe cometh, he schal teche you al trewthe; for he schal not speke of hym silf, but what euer thinges he schal here, he schal speke; and he schal telle to you tho thingis that ben to come.
Wenn aber jener kommt, der Geist der Wahrheit, der wird euch in alle Wahrheit einführen. Er wird nicht von sich aus reden; er wird reden, was er hört, und euch die Zukunft künden.
14 He schal clarifie me, for of myne he schal take, and schal telle to you.
Er wird mich dann verherrlichen; er wird ja von dem Meinen empfangen und es euch verkünden.
15 Alle thingis `whiche euer the fadir hath, ben myne; therfor Y seide to you, for of myne he schal take, and schal telle to you.
Alles, was der Vater hat, ist mein. Deshalb habe ich gesagt: Er wird von dem Meinigen empfangen und es euch verkünden.
16 A litil, and thanne ye schulen not se me; and eftsoone a litil, and ye schulen se me, for Y go to the fadir.
Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und nochmals eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder denn ich gehe zum Vater."
17 Therfor summe of hise disciplis seiden togidere, What is this thing that he seith to vs, A litil, and ye schulen not se me; and eftsoone a litil, and ye schulen se me, for Y go to the fadir?
Da sprachen einige seiner Jünger zueinander: "Was soll das heißen, daß er sagt: 'Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder'; sowie: 'Ich gehe zum Vater'?"
18 Therfor thei seiden, What is this that he seith to vs, A litil? we witen not what he spekith.
Sie fragten also: "Was meint er mit der kleinen Weile; denn wir verstehen nicht, was er sagt?"
19 And Jhesus knew, that thei wolden axe hym, and he seide to hem, Of this thing ye seken among you, for Y seide, A litil, and ye schulen not se me; and eftsoone a litil, and ye schulen se me.
Jesus merkte, daß sie ihn fragen wollten; er sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr fragt einander, weil ich sagte: Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und nochmals eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder?
20 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, that ye schulen mourne and wepe, but the world schal haue ioye; and ye schulen be soreuful, but youre sorewe schal turne in to ioye.
Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und wehklagen, allein, die Welt wird sich freuen. Ihr werdet trauern, doch eure Trauer wird sich in Freude verwandeln.
21 A womman whanne sche berith child, hath heuynesse, for hir tyme is comun; but whanne sche hath borun a sone, now sche thenkith not on the peyne, for ioye, for a man is borun in to the world.
So hat das Weib, wenn es gebiert, sein Leid, weil seine Stunde da ist; hat es jedoch das Kind geboren, so denkt es nicht mehr an die Angst aus Freude, daß ein Mensch zur Welt geboren ist.
22 And therfor ye han now sorew, but eftsoone Y schal se you, and youre herte schal haue ioie, and no man schal take fro you youre ioie.
So habt auch ihr jetzt Leid. Doch ich werde euch wiedersehen, und euer Herz wird sich freuen, und eure Freude wird niemand von euch nehmen.
23 And in that day ye schulen not axe me ony thing; treuli, treuli, `Y seie to you, if ye axen the fadir ony thing in my name, he schal yyue to you.
An jenem Tage werdet ihr mich nichts mehr fragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich sage ich euch: Wenn ihr den Vater um etwas bitten werdet, so wird er es meines Namens wegen euch geben.
24 `Til now ye axiden no thing in my name; `axe ye, `and ye schulen take, that youre ioie be ful.
Bisher habt ihr um nichts in meinem Namen gebeten. Bittet, und ihr werdet empfangen, und eure Freude wird vollendet sein.
25 Y haue spokun to you these thingis in prouerbis; the our cometh, whanne now Y schal not speke to you in prouerbis, but opynli of my fadir Y schal telle to you.
Dies habe ich in Gleichnissen zu euch geredet. Es kommt die Stunde, da will ich nicht mehr in Gleichnissen zu euch sprechen, vielmehr euch offen vom Vater Kunde geben.
26 In that dai ye schulen axe in my name; and Y seie not to you, that Y schal preye the fadir of you;
An jenem Tage werdet ihr in meinem Namen bitten; ich sage euch nicht: Ich will den Vater für euch bitten.
27 for the fadir hym silf loueth you, for ye han loued me, and han bileued, that Y wente out fro God.
Der Vater selber liebt euch, weil ihr mich geliebt und weil ihr geglaubt habt, daß ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.
28 Y wente out fro the fadir, and Y cam in to the world; eftsoone Y leeue the world, and Y go to the fadir.
Ich bin vom Vater ausgegangen und in die Welt gekommen, ich verlasse wiederum die Welt und gehe zum Vater."
29 Hise disciplis seiden to hym, Lo! now thou spekist opynli, and thou seist no prouerbe.
Da sagten seine Jünger: "Siehe, jetzt sprichst du offen und gebrauchst kein Gleichnis mehr.
30 Now we witen, that thou wost alle thingis; and it is not nede to thee, that ony man axe thee. In this thing we bileuen, that thou wentist out fro God.
Jetzt wissen wir, daß du alles weißt und niemand dich zu fragen braucht. Deshalb glauben wir, daß du von Gott ausgegangen bist."
31 Jhesus answeride to hem, Now ye bileuen.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Jetzt glaubt ihr.
32 Lo! the our cometh, and now it cometh, that ye be disparplid, ech in to hise owne thingis, and that ye leeue me aloone; and Y am not aloone, for the fadir is with me.
Seht, es kommt eine Stunde, ja, sie ist schon da, da ihr euch zerstreuen werdet, ein jeder in sein Haus, und mich allein lasset. Doch ich bin nicht allein; der Vater ist mit mir.
33 These thingis Y haue spokun to you, that ye haue pees in me; in the world ye schulen haue disese, but trust ye, Y haue ouercomun the world.
Das habe ich zu euch gesagt, auf daß ihr Frieden in mir habet. In der Welt leidet ihr Drangsal; doch seid getrost: Ich habe die Welt überwunden."
