2 Samuel 23
1 Forsothe these ben the laste wordis, whiche Dauid, the sone of Ysai, seide. The man seide, to whom it is ordeyned of Crist, of the God of Jacob, the noble salm makere of Israel;
Dies sind Davids letzte Worte: Ausspruch Davids, des Sohnes Isais, und Ausspruch des Mannes, der hoch erhoben ward, des Gesalbten des Gottes Jakobs und des Lieblings der Lieder Israels:
2 The spiryt of the Lord spak bi me, and his word bi my tunge.
Der Geist des HERRN redet in mir, und sein Wort liegt auf meiner Zunge.
3 Dauid seide, God of Israel spak to me, the stronge of Israel, the `iust Lord of men, `is Lord in the drede of God.
Es hat gesprochen der Gott Israels, der Fels Israels zu mir gesagt: Wer gerecht herrscht über die Menschen, wer da herrscht in der Furcht Gottes,
4 As the liyt of the morewtid, whanne the sunne risith eerli, is briyt with out cloudis; and as an erbe cometh forth of the erthe bi reynes.
der ist wie das Licht, das am Morgen aufstrahlt, wie die Sonne am Morgen ohne Gewölk: von ihrem Glanz nach dem Regen sproßt junges Grün aus der Erde hervor.
5 And myn hows is not so greet anentis God, that he schulde make with me euerlastynge couenaunt, stidefast and maad strong in alle thingis; for al myn helthe hangith of him, and al the wille `that is, al my desir, goith in to hym, and no thing is therof, that makith not fruyt.
Ja, steht nicht so mein Haus zu Gott? Hat er doch einen ewigen Bund mit mir geschlossen, der in allen Stücken gesichert und festgestellt ist. Ja, all mein Glück und all mein Verlangen, sollte er das nicht sprossen lassen?
6 Forsothe alle trespassouris schulen be drawun out as thornes, that ben not takun with hondis.
Die Bösen aber sind allesamt wie Dornen, die man wegwirft; denn mit der Hand faßt man sie nicht an;
7 And if ony man wole touche tho, he schal be armed with irun, and with tre formed in to spere; and the thornes schulen be kyndlid, and schulen be brent `til to nouyt.
nein, wer sich mit ihnen befaßt, bewehrt sich mit Eisen und Speerschaft, und im Feuer verbrennt man sie gänzlich an ihrer Stätte.
8 These ben the names of the stronge men of Dauid. Dauid sittith in the chaier, the wiseste prince among thre; he is as a moost tendir worm of tree, that killide eiyte hundrid with o fersnesse.
Dies sind die Namen der Helden Davids: Joseb-Bassebeth, der Tahchemoniter, das Haupt der Drei; der schwang seinen Speer über achthundert (Feinden), die er auf einmal erschlagen hatte. –
9 Aftir hym was Eleazar, the sone of his fadirs brother Abohi; among thre stronge men, that weren with Dauid, whanne thei seiden schenschip to Filisteis, and weren gaderid thidir in to batel.
Nach ihm kam unter den drei (Rittern) Eleasar, der Sohn Dodos, der Ahohiter. Er war bei David in Pas-Dammim, als die Philister sich dort zur Schlacht versammelt hatten. Als nun die Israeliten sich vor ihnen zurückzogen,
10 And whanne the men of Israel hadden stied, he stood, and smoot Filisties, til his hond failide, and was starke with the swerd. And the Lord made greet helthe in that dai; and the puple that fledde turnedc ayen to drawe awei the spuylis of slayn men.
war er es, der standhielt und unter den Philistern ein Blutbad anrichtete, bis sein Arm erlahmt war und seine Hand am Schwert kleben blieb. So verlieh der HERR (den Israeliten) an jenem Tage einen herrlichen Sieg. Da kehrte das Heer unter seiner Führung wieder um, doch nur, um (die Erschlagenen) auszuplündern. –
11 And aftir hym was Semma, the sone of Age, of Arari. And Filisteis weren gaderid in the stacioun; forsothe there was a feeld ful of lente; and whanne the puple fledde fro the face of Filisteis,
Nach ihm kam Samma, der Sohn des Harariters Age. Einst hatten sich nämlich die Philister in Lehi gesammelt, und es war dort ein Ackerstück mit Linsen; als nun das Heer vor den Philistern floh,
12 he stood in the myddis of the feeld, and bihelde it; and he smoot Filisteis, and the Lord made greet helthe.
trat er mitten auf das Feld, behauptete es und schlug die Philister; so verlieh (ihm) der HERR einen herrlichen Sieg.
13 Also and thre men yeden doun bifore, that weren princes among thretti, and camen to Dauid in the tyme of reep in to the denne of Odollam. Forsothe the castels of Filisteis weren set in the valei of giauntis.
Einst kamen drei von den dreißig Rittern während der Erntezeit zu David in die Höhle von Adullam hinab, während die Schar der Philister sich in der Ebene Rephaim gelagert hatte.
14 And Dauid was in a strong hold; sotheli the stacioun of Filisteis was thanne in Bethleem.
David befand sich aber damals in der Bergfeste, während eine Besatzung der Philister damals in Bethlehem lag.
15 Therfor Dauid desiride water of the lake, and seide, If ony man wolde yyue to me drynk of watir of the cisterne, which is in Bethleem, bisidis the yate.
Nun verspürte David ein Gelüsten und rief aus: »Wer verschafft mir Wasser zu trinken aus dem Brunnen, der in Bethlehem am Stadttor liegt?«
16 Therfor thre stronge men braken in to the castels of Filisteis, and drowen watir of the cisterne of Bethleem, that was bisidis the yate, and brouyten to Dauid; and he nolde drinke,
Da schlugen sich die drei Helden durch das Lager der Philister hindurch, schöpften Wasser aus dem Brunnen am Tor zu Bethlehem und brachten es glücklich zu David hin. Aber dieser wollte es nicht trinken, sondern goß es als Trankopfer für den HERRN aus
17 but offride it to the Lord, and seide, The Lord be merciful to me, that Y do not this; whether Y schal drynke the blood of these men, that yeden forth, and the perel of soulis? Therfor he nolde drynke. Thre strongeste men diden thes thingis.
mit den Worten: »Der HERR behüte mich davor, daß ich so etwas tun sollte! Das ist ja das Blut der Männer, die unter Lebensgefahr dorthin gezogen sind!« Und er wollte es nicht trinken. Das hatten die drei Helden ausgeführt.
18 Also Abisay, brother of Joab, the sone of Saruye, was prince of thre; he it is that reiside his schaft ayens thre hundrid men, whiche he killide; `he was nemid among thre,
Abisai aber, der Bruder Joabs, der Sohn der Zeruja, war das Haupt der Dreißig; der schwang seinen Speer über dreihundert (Feinden), die er erschlagen hatte, und besaß hohes Ansehen unter den Dreißig.
19 and was the noblere among thre, and he was the prince of hem; but he cam not to the thre firste men.
Unter den Dreißig genoß er die höchste Ehre, so daß er auch ihr Oberster wurde; aber an die (ersten) drei Helden reichte er nicht heran. –
20 And Banaye, the sone of Joiada, strongeste man of grete werkis, of Capseel, he smoot twei liouns of Moab, `that is, twei knyytis hardi as liouns; and he yede doun, and smoot a lioun in the myddil cisterne in the daies of snow.
Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, (ein tapferer Mann), groß an Taten, stammte aus Kabzeel; er war es, der die beiden Söhne Ariels aus Moab erschlug. Auch stieg er einmal in eine Zisterne hinab und erschlug darin einen Löwen an einem Tage, an dem Schnee gefallen war.
21 Also he killide a man of Egipt, a man worthi of spectacle, hauynge a spere in the hond; therfor whanne he hadde come doun with a yerde to that man, bi miyt he wrooth out the spere fro the hond of the man of Egipt, and killide hym with his owne spere.
Auch erschlug er einen Ägypter von riesiger Größe, der einen Speer in der Hand hatte; er aber ging mit einem Stecken auf ihn los, riß dem Ägypter den Speer aus der Hand und tötete ihn mit seinem eigenen Speer.
22 Banaye, sone of Joiada, dide these thingis;
Das tat Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas; er besaß hohes Ansehen unter den dreißig Rittern
23 and he was nemyed among thre stronge men, that weren among the thretti noblere men; netheles he cam not til to the thre. And Dauid made hym a counselour of priuyte to hym silf.
und war der geehrteste unter den Dreißig, aber an die (ersten) drei Helden reichte er nicht heran. David stellte ihn an die Spitze seiner Leibwache.
24 Asahel, the brother of Joab, was among thretti men; Eleanan, the sone of his fadris brother, of Bethleem; Semma, of Arari;
Zu den dreißig (Rittern) gehörten: Asahel, der Bruder Joabs; Elhanan aus Bethlehem, der Sohn Dodos;
25 Elcha, of Arodi; Helas, of Phelti;
Samma aus Harod; Elika aus Harod;
26 Hira, sone of Aches, of Thecua; Abiezer, of Amatoth;
Helez aus Pelet; Ira, der Sohn des Ikkes, aus Thekoa;
27 Mobannoy, of Cosathi; Selmon, of Achotes;
Abieser aus Anathoth; Mebunnai aus Husa;
28 Macharai, of Nethopath;
Zalmon aus Ahoah; Maharai aus Netopha;
29 Heled, the sone of Baana, and he was of Netophath; Hiray, sone of Rabai, of Gebeeth, of the sones of Beniamyn; Banay, of Effrata;
Heleb, der Sohn Baanas, aus Netopha; Itthai, der Sohn Ribais, aus Gibea im Stamme Benjamin;
30 Hedday, of the stronde of Gaas;
Benaja aus Pirathon; Hiddai aus Nahale-Gaas;
31 Abiadon, of Arbath; Asmaneth, of Berromy;
Abi-Albon aus Beth-Araba; Asmaweth aus Bahurim;
32 Eliaba, of Sabony; sones of Assen, Jonathan, and Jasan; Semma, of Herodi;
Eljahba aus Saalbon; Jasen, der Gunit;
33 Hayam, sone of Sarai, of Zaroth;
Jonathan, der Sohn Sammas, aus Harar; Ahiam, der Sohn Sarars, aus Harar;
34 Eliphelech, sone of Saalbai, the sone of Maachati; Heliam, sone of Achitofel, of Gilo;
Eliphelet, der Sohn Ahasbais, aus Beth-Maacha; Eliam, der Sohn Ahithophels, aus Gilo;
35 Esrai, of Carmele; Pharai, of Arbi;
Hezrai aus Karmel; Paarai, der Arkiter;
36 Ygaal, sone of Nathan, of Soba;
Jigal, der Sohn Nathans, aus Zoba; Bani aus Gad;
37 Bonny, of Gaddi; Silech, of Ammony; Naarai, of Beroth, the squyer of Joab, the sone of Saruye;
Zelek, der Ammoniter; Naharai aus Beeroth, der Waffenträger Joabs, des Sohnes der Zeruja;
38 Haray, of Jethri; Gareb, and he was of Gethri;
Ira aus Jatthir; Gareb aus Jatthir;
39 Vrye, of Ethei; alle weren seuene and thretti men.
Uria, der Hethiter: zusammen siebenunddreißig.
