1 John 4
1 Moost dere britheren, nyle ye bileue to ech spirit, but preue ye spiritis, if thei ben of God; for many false prophetis wenten out in to the world.
Geliebte! Trauet nicht jedem Geiste! Prüft die Geister, ob sie aus Gott sind. Denn viele falsche Propheten sind in die Welt hinausgegangen.
2 In this thing the spirit of God is knowun; ech spirit that knowlechith that Jhesu Crist hath come in fleisch, is of God;
Daran erkennt man den Geist aus Gott: jeder Geist, der bekennt: Jesus Christus ist im Fleische gekommen, ist aus Gott.
3 and ech spirit that fordoith Jhesu, is not of God. And this is antecrist, of whom ye herden, that he cometh; and riyt now he is in the world.
Doch jeder Geist, der Jesus nicht bekennt, ist auch nicht aus Gott. Es ist vielmehr der Geist des Antichristen, von dem ihr vernommen habt, daß er kommt; ja, er ist schon in der Welt.
4 Ye, litle sones, ben of God, and ye han ouercome hym; for he that is in you is more, than he that is in the world.
Doch ihr, o Kinder, seid aus Gott, ihr habt jene überwunden; denn er, der in euch ist, ist stärker als jener in der Welt.
5 Thei ben of the world, therfor thei speken of the world, and the world herith hem.
Sie sind von der Welt; deshalb reden sie nach Art der Welt; es hört auch die Welt auf sie.
6 We ben of God; he that knowith God, herith vs; he that is not of God, herith not vs. In this thing we knowen the spirit of treuthe, and the spirit of errour.
Wir aber sind aus Gott. Wer Gott erkennt, der hört auf uns; nur wer nicht aus Gott ist, der hört auch nicht auf uns. Daran erkennen wir den Geist der Wahrheit und den Geist der Verwirrung.
7 Moost dere britheren, loue we togidere, for charite is of God; and ech that loueth his brother, is borun of God, and knowith God.
Geliebte! Lasset uns einander lieben! Die Liebe stammt aus Gott, und jeder, der liebt, ist aus Gott geboren und versteht Gott.
8 He that loueth not, knowith not God; for God is charite.
Doch wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht verstanden: Gott ist Liebe.
9 In this thing the charite of God apperide in vs, for God sente hise oon bigetun sone in to the world, that we lyue bi hym.
Dadurch hat sich die Liebe Gottes unter uns geoffenbart, daß Gott seinen Eingeborenen Sohn in diese Welt gesandt hat, damit wir durch ihn leben.
10 In this thing is charite, not as we hadden loued God, but for he firste louede vs, and sente hise sone foryyuenesse for oure synnes.
Und darin eben liegt die Liebe, nicht, daß wir Gott geliebt haben, sondern daß er uns geliebt und daß er seinen Sohn als Sühne für unsere Sünden gesandt hat.
11 Ye moost dere britheren, if God louede vs, we owen to loue ech other.
Geliebte! Wenn uns Gott so sehr geliebt hat, dann sind auch wir verpflichtet, einander zu lieben.
12 No man say euer God; if we louen togidre, God dwellith in vs, and the charite of hym is perfit in vs.
Noch nie hat jemand Gott geschaut, doch wenn wir einander lieben, dann bleibt Gott in uns, und seine Liebe ist in uns vollendet.
13 In this thing we knowen, that we dwellen in hym, and he in vs; for of his spirit he yaf to vs.
Daran mögen wir erkennen, daß wir in ihm bleiben und er in uns verbleibt, daß er von seinem Geist uns gegeben hat.
14 And we sayen, and witnessen, that the fadir sente his sone sauyour of the world.
Wir haben es gesehen und bezeugen es, daß der Vater seinen Sohn als Weltheiland gesandt hat.
15 Who euer knowlechith, that Jhesu is the sone of God, God dwellith in him, and he in God.
Wer nun bekennt: Jesus ist der Sohn Gottes, in dem bleibt Gott und er in Gott.
16 And we han knowun, and bileuen to the charite, that God hath in vs. God is charite, and he that dwellith in charite, dwellith in God, and God in hym.
Und wir haben erkannt und der Liebe geglaubt, die Gott zu uns hat. Gott ist Liebe. Wer in der Liebe bleibt, der bleibt in Gott, und Gott bleibt in ihm.
17 In this thing is the perfit charite of God with vs, that we haue trist in the dai of dom; for as he is, also we ben in this world.
Darin vollendet sich bei uns die Liebe, daß wir voll Zuversicht für den Tag des Gerichtes verblieben; denn so wie jener sind auch wir in dieser Welt.
18 Drede is not in charite, but perfit charite puttith out drede; for drede hath peyne. But he that dredith, is not perfit in charite.
Furcht gibt es bei der Liebe nicht; denn ist die Liebe ganz vollendet, dann wird die Furcht verdrängt. Die Furcht hat Strafe in sich, und darum, ist, wer fürchtet, in der Liebe noch nicht vollendet.
19 Therfor loue we God, for he louede vs bifore.
Wir lieben, weil er uns zuvor geliebt hat.
20 If ony man seith, that `Y loue God, and hatith his brother, he is a liere. For he that loueth not his brothir, which he seeth, hou mai he loue God, whom he seeth not?
Wenn einer sagt: "Ich liebe Gott", doch seinen Bruder haßt, der ist ein Lügner. Wenn einer nämlich seinen Bruder, den er sieht, nicht liebt, der kann auch Gott nicht lieben, den er nicht gesehen hat.
21 And we han this comaundement of God, that he that loueth God, loue also his brothir.
Dieses Gebot haben wir von ihm: Wer Gott liebt, muß auch seinen Bruder lieben.
