Yochanan 15
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.
“Yo soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el viñador.
2 Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Todo sarmiento que, estando en Mí, no lleva fruto, lo quita, pero todo sarmiento que lleva fruto, lo limpia, para que lleve todavía más fruto.
3 You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Vosotros estáis ya limpios, gracias a la palabra que Yo os he hablado.
4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.
Permaneced en Mí, y Yo en vosotros. Así como el sarmiento no puede por sí mismo llevar fruto, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco vosotros, si no permanecéis en Mí.
5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Yo soy la vid, vosotros los sarmientos. Quien permanece en Mí, y Yo en él, lleva mucho fruto, porque separados de Mí no podéis hacer nada.
6 If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burnt.
Si alguno no permanece en Mí, es arrojado fuera como los sarmientos, y se seca; después los recogen y los echan al fuego, y se queman.
7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
Si vosotros permanecéis en Mí, y mis palabras permanecen en vosotros, todo lo que queráis, pedidlo, y lo tendréis:
8 “In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
En esto es glorificado mi Padre: que llevéis mucho fruto, y seréis discípulos míos”.
9 Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.
“Como mi Padre me amó, así Yo os he amado: permaneced en mi amor.
10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
Si conserváis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor, lo mismo que Yo, habiendo conservado los mandamientos de mi Padre, permanezco en su amor.
11 I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
Os he dicho estas cosas, para que mi propio gozo esté en vosotros y vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.
Mi mandamiento es que os améis unos a otros, como Yo os he amado.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Nadie puede tener amor más grande que dar la vida por sus amigos.
14 You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.
Vosotros sois mis amigos, si hacéis esto que os mando.
15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
Ya no os llamo más siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor, sino que os he llamado amigos, porque todo lo que aprendí de mi Padre, os lo he dado a conocer.
16 You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Vosotros no me escogisteis a Mí; pero Yo os escogí, y os he designado para que vayáis, y llevéis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca; para que el Padre os dé todo lo que le pidáis en mi nombre.
17 “I command these things to you, that you may love one another.
Estas cosas os mando, para que os améis unos a otros”.
18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
“Si el mundo os odia, sabed que me ha odiado a Mí antes que a vosotros.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Si fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; pero como vosotros no sois del mundo —porque Yo os he entresacado del mundo— el mundo os odia.
20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
Acordaos de esta palabra que os dije: No es el siervo más grande que su Señor. Si me persiguieron a Mí, también os perseguirán a vosotros; si observaron mi palabra, observarán también la vuestra.
21 But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.
Pero os harán todo esto a causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me envió.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Si Yo hubiera venido sin hacerles oír mi palabra, no tendrían pecado, pero ahora no tienen excusa por su pecado.
23 He who hates me, hates my Father also.
Quien me odia a Mí odia también a mi Padre.
24 If I hadn’t done amongst them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now they have seen and also hated both me and my Father.
Si Yo no hubiera hecho en medio de ellos las obras que nadie ha hecho, no tendrían pecado, mas ahora han visto, y me han odiado, lo mismo que a mi Padre.
25 But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’
Pero es para que se cumpla la palabra escrita en su Ley: «Me odiaron sin causa».
26 “When the Counsellor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
Cuando venga el Intercesor, que os enviaré desde el Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, que procede del Padre, Él dará testimonio de Mí.
27 You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
Y vosotros también dad testimonio, pues desde el principio estáis conmigo”.
