Ephesians 5
1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
Sed, pues, imitadores de Dios, como hijos amados.
2 Walk in love, even as Messiah also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Caminad en el amor, como también Cristo nos amó y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios en olor fragante.
3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned amongst you, as becomes holy ones;
Pero la inmoralidad sexual, y toda inmundicia o codicia, ni siquiera se mencione entre vosotros, como conviene a los santos;
4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks.
ni la inmundicia, ni las conversaciones necias, ni las bromas, que no son apropiadas, sino más bien la acción de gracias.
5 Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Messiah and God.
Sabed con certeza que ningún inmoral sexual, ni impuro, ni codicioso (que es idólatra), tiene herencia en el Reino de Cristo y de Dios.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
Que nadie os engañe con palabras vacías, porque a causa de estas cosas la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de la desobediencia.
7 Therefore don’t be partakers with them.
Por tanto, no seáis partícipes de ellos.
8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
Porque antes erais tinieblas, pero ahora sois luz en el Señor. Caminad como hijos de la luz,
9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, justicia y verdad,
10 proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
demostrando lo que es agradable al Señor.
11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
No tengáis comunión con las obras infructuosas de las tinieblas, sino más bien reprendedlas.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
Porque es una vergüenza incluso hablar de las cosas que hacen en secreto.
13 But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
Pero todas las cosas, cuando son reprendidas, son reveladas por la luz, porque todo lo que revela es luz.
14 Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you.”
Por eso dice: “Despierta, tú que duermes, y levántate de entre los muertos, y Cristo brillará sobre vosotros.”
15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
Por lo tanto, mirad bien cómo andáis, no como imprudentes, sino como sabios,
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
aprovechando el tiempo, porque los días son malos.
17 Therefore, don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
No seáis, pues, insensatos, sino comprended cuál es la voluntad del Señor.
18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
No os embriaguéis con vino, en lo cual hay disipación, sino sed llenos del Espíritu,
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
hablando entre vosotros con salmos, himnos y cánticos espirituales; cantando y entonando melodías en vuestro corazón al Señor;
20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah to God, even the Father;
dando siempre gracias por todo en nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo a Dios, el Padre;
21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Messiah.
sometiéndoos unos a otros en el temor de Cristo.
22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
Esposas, estad sujetas a vuestros maridos, como al Señor.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Messiah also is the head of the assembly, being himself the saviour of the body.
Porque el marido es la cabeza de la mujer, como también Cristo es la cabeza de la asamblea, siendo él mismo el salvador del cuerpo.
24 But as the assembly is subject to Messiah, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Pero como la asamblea está sujeta a Cristo, así también las esposas estén sujetas a sus propios maridos en todo.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her,
Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó a la asamblea y se entregó a sí mismo por ella,
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
para santificarla, habiéndola purificado mediante el lavado del agua con la palabra,
27 that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without defect.
a fin de presentársela a sí mismo gloriosa, sin mancha ni arruga ni cosa semejante, sino santa y sin defecto.
28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
Así también los maridos deben amar a sus propias esposas como a sus propios cuerpos. El que ama a su propia mujer se ama a sí mismo.
29 For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly,
Porque nadie ha odiado jamás su propia carne, sino que la alimenta y la cuida, como también el Señor lo hace con la asamblea,
30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
porque somos miembros de su cuerpo, de su carne y de sus huesos.
31 “For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.”
“Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre y se unirá a su mujer. Entonces los dos se convertirán en una sola carne”.
32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Messiah and the assembly.
Este misterio es grande, pero yo hablo de Cristo y de la asamblea.
33 Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Sin embargo, cada uno de vosotros debe amar también a su propia mujer como a sí mismo; y que la mujer respete a su marido.
