Matthew 10
1 He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
Y llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio potestad de echar a los espíritus inmundos y de sanar toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;
He aquí los nombres de los doce Apóstoles: primero Simón, llamado Pedro, y Andrés su hermano; Santiago el de Zebedeo y Juan su hermano;
3 Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; Lebbaeus, who was also called Thaddaeus;
Felipe y Bartolomé; Tomas y Mateo el publicano; Santiago, el de Alfeo, y Tadeo;
4 Simon the Zealot; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Simón el Cananeo, y Judas el Iscariote, el mismo que lo entregó.
5 Jesus sent these twelve out and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.
Estos son los Doce que Jesús envió, después de haberles dado instrucciones, diciendo: “No vayáis hacia los gentiles y no entréis en ninguna ciudad de samaritanos,
6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
sino id más bien a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
7 As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’
Y de camino predicad diciendo: “El reino de los cielos se ha acercado”.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
Sanad enfermos, resucitad muertos, limpiad leprosos, echad fuera demonios. Recibisteis gratuitamente, dad gratuitamente.
9 Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.
No tengáis ni oro, ni plata, ni cobre en vuestros cintos;
10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
ni alforja para el camino, ni dos túnicas, ni sandalias, ni bastón; porque el obrero es acreedor a su sustento.
11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go on.
Llegados a una ciudad o aldea, informaos de quien en ella es digno, y quedaos allí hasta vuestra partida.
12 As you enter into the household, greet it.
Al entrar a una casa decidle el saludo ( de paz ).
13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.
Si la casa es digna, venga vuestra paz a ella; mas si no es digna, vuestra paz se vuelva a vosotros.
14 Whoever doesn’t receive you or hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.
Y si alguno no quiere recibiros ni escuchar vuestras palabras, salid de aquella casa o de aquella ciudad y sacudid el polvo de vuestros pies.
15 Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
En verdad, os digo, que en el día del juicio ( el destino ) será más tolerable para la tierra de Sodoma y Gomorra que para aquella ciudad”.
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
“Mirad que Yo os envío como ovejas en medio de lobos. Sed, pues, prudentes como las serpientes, y sencillos como las palomas.
17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
Guardaos de los hombres, porque os entregarán a los sanhedrines y os azotarán en sus sinagogas,
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
y por causa de Mí seréis llevados ante gobernadores y reyes, en testimonio para ellos y para las naciones.
19 But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
Mas cuando os entregaren, no os preocupéis de cómo o qué hablaréis. Lo que habéis de decir os será dado en aquella misma hora.
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino que el Espíritu de vuestro Padre es quien, habla en vosotros.
21 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
Y entregará a la muerte hermano a hermano y padre a hijo; y se levantarán hijos contra padres y los harán morir.
22 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
Y seréis odiados de todos por causa de mi nombre; pero el que perseverare hasta el fin, ese será salvo.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.
Cuando os persiguieren en una ciudad, huid a otra. En verdad, os digo, no acabaréis ( de predicar en ) las ciudades de Israel antes que venga el Hijo del Hombre”.
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
“El discípulo no es mejor que su maestro, ni el siervo mejor que su amo.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
Basta al discípulo ser como su maestro, y al siervo ser como su amo. Si al dueño de casa llamaron Beelzebul, ¿cuánto más a los de su casa?
26 Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
No los temáis. Nada hay oculto que no deba ser descubierto, y nada secreto que no deba ser conocido.
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
Lo que os digo en las tinieblas, repetidlo en pleno día; lo que oís al oído, proclamadlo desde las azoteas.
28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
Y no temáis a los que matan el cuerpo, y que no pueden matar el alma; mas temed a aquel que puede perder alma y cuerpo en la gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
29 “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.
¿No se venden dos gorriones por un as? Ahora bien, ni uno de ellos caerá en tierra sin disposición de vuestro Padre.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
En cuanto a vosotros, todos los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están contados.
31 Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
No temáis, pues vosotros valéis más que muchos gorriones”.
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
“A todo aquel que me confiese delante de los hombres, Yo también lo confesaré delante de mi Padre celestial;
33 But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
mas a quien me niegue delante de los hombres, Yo también lo negaré delante de mi Padre celestial.
34 “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
No creáis que he venido a traer la paz sobre la tierra. No he venido a traer paz, sino espada.
35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
He venido, en efecto, a separar al hombre de su padre, a la hija de su madre, a la nuera de su suegra;
36 A man’s foes will be those of his own household.
y serán enemigos del hombre los de su propia casa.
37 He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.
Quien ama a su padre o a su madre más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí; y quien ama a su hijo o a su hija más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí.
38 He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.
Quien no toma su cruz y me sigue, no es digno de Mí.
39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
Quien halla su vida, la perderá; y quien pierde su vida por Mí, la hallará”.
40 “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
Quien a vosotros recibe, a Mí me recibe, y quien me recibe a Mí, recibe a Aquel que me envió.
41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
Quien recibe a un profeta a título de profeta, recibirá la recompensa de profeta; quien recibe a un justo a título de justo, recibirá la recompensa del justo.
42 Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.”
y quienquiera diere de beber tan solo un vaso de agua fría a uno de estos pequeños, a título de discípulo, en verdad os digo, no perderá su recompensa”.
