Psalms 97
1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad.
Az Örökkévaló király lett: vigadjon a föld, örüljenek a sok szigetek!
2 Clouds and darkness surroundeth him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
Felhő és sűrű köd van körülőtte, igazság és jog trónjának talapzata.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies on every side.
Tűz jár előtte s elégeti szorongatóit köröskörül.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
Megvilágították villámai a világot, látta és reszketett a föld.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
Hegyek mint a viasz elolvadtak az Örökkévaló elől, az egész föld ura elől.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Megjelentették az egek az ő igazságát, hogy lássák dicsőségét mind a népek.
7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
Megszégyenülnek mind a képimádók, kik dicsekszenek a bálványokkal: leborúl-tak előtte mind az istenek.
8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.
Hallotta és megörült Czión és vigadtak Jehúda leányai ítéleteidnek miatta, Örökkévaló!
9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
Mert te, Örökkévaló, legfelső vagy az egész föld fölött, nagyon fölemelkedtél mind az istenek fölé.
10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
A kik szeretitek az Örökkévalót, gyűlöljétek a rosszat! Megőrzi jámborai lelkeit, gonoszoknak kezéből megmenti őket.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
Világosság van elvetve az igaznak, s az egyenes szivüeknek öröm.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Örüljetek, igazak, az Örökkévalóban, és mondjatok hálát szent nevének!
