Matthew 11
1 And it came to passe when Iesus had made an ende of comaundinge his. xii. disciples that he departed thence to teache and to preache in their cities.
Yesu alipomaliza kuwapa wanafunzi kumi na wawili maagizo, alitoka hapo, akaenda kufundisha na kuhubiri katika miji yao.
2 When Ihon beinge in preson hearde ye workes of Christ he sent two of his disciples
Yohane mbatizaji akiwa gerezani alipata habari juu ya matendo ya Kristo. Basi, Yohane akawatuma wanafunzi wake,
3 and sayde vnto him. Arte thou he that shall come: or shall we loke for another.
wamwulize: “Je, wewe ni yule anayekuja, au tumngoje mwingine?”
4 Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. Go and shewe Ihon what ye have hearde and sene.
Yesu akawajibu, “Nendeni mkamwambie Yohane mambo mnayoyasikia na kuyaona:
5 The blynd se the halt goo the lepers are clensed: the deef heare the ded ryse ageyne and the glad tidinges is preached to the povre.
vipofu wanaona, viwete wanatembea, wenye ukoma wanatakaswa na viziwi wanasikia, wafu wanafufuliwa na maskini wanahubiriwa Habari Njema.
6 And happy is he that is not offended by me.
Heri mtu yule asiyekuwa na mashaka nami.”
7 And as they departed Iesus begane to speake vnto the people of Ihon. What for to se wet ye out in to the wyldernes? wet ye out to se a rede shake with ye wynde?
Basi, hao wajumbe wa Yohane walipokuwa wanakwenda zao, Yesu alianza kuyaambia makundi ya watu habari za Yohane: “Mlikwenda kutazama nini kule jangwani? Je, mlitaka kuona mwanzi unaotikiswa na upepo?
8 other what wet ye out for to se? A man clothed in soofte raymet: ? Beholde they yt weare soofte clothig are in kynges howses.
Lakini mlikwenda kuona nini? Mlikwenda kumtazama mtu aliyevaa mavazi maridadi? Watu wanaovaa mavazi maridadi hukaa katika nyumba za wafalme.
9 But what wet ye oute for to se? A prophete? Ye I saye to you and more the a prophete.
Basi, mlikwenda kuona nini? Nabii? Naam, hakika ni zaidi ya nabii.
10 For this is he of who it is wrytte. Beholde I sende my messenger before thy face which shall prepare thy waye before ye.
“Huyu ndiye anayesemwa katika Maandiko Matakatifu: Tazama, hapa namtuma mjumbe wangu, asema Bwana, akutangulie na kukutayarishia njia yako.
11 Verely I saye vnto you amonge ye chyldren of wemen arose there not a gretter then Ihon the baptist. Notwithstondinge he that ys lesse in the kyngdome of heven ys gretter then he.
Kweli nawaambieni, miongoni mwa watoto wote wa watu, hajatokea aliye mkuu kuliko Yohane mbatizaji. Hata hivyo, yule aliye mdogo kabisa katika Ufalme wa mbinguni, ni mkubwa kuliko yeye.
12 From the tyme of Ihon Baptist hytherto ye kyngdome of heve suffreth violence and they that go to it with violence pluck it vnto them.
Tangu wakati wa Yohane mbatizaji mpaka leo hii, Ufalme wa mbinguni unashambuliwa vikali, na watu wakali wanajaribu kuunyakua kwa nguvu.
13 For all the prophetes and the lawe prophesyed vnto to the tyme of Ihon.
Mafundisho yote ya manabii na sheria yalibashiri juu ya nyakati hizi.
14 Also yf ye wyll receave it this is Helyas which shuld come.
Kama mwaweza kukubali basi, Yohane ndiye Eliya ambaye angekuja.
15 He yt hathe eares to heare let him heare.
Mwenye masikio na asikie!
16 But wher vnto shall I lyken this generacion? It ys lyke vnto chyldre which syt in the market and call vnto their felowes
“Basi, nitakifananisha kizazi hiki na kitu gani? Ni kama vijana waliokuwa wamekaa uwanjani, wakawa wakiambiana kikundi kimoja kwa kingine:
17 and saye: we have pyped vnto you and ye have not daunsed? We have morned vnto you and ye have not sorowed.
Tumewapigieni ngoma lakini hamkucheza; tumeimba nyimbo za huzuni lakini hamkulia!
18 For Ihon came nether eatinge nor drinkinge and they saye he hath the devyll.
Kwa maana Yohane alikuja, akafunga na wala hakunywa divai, nao wakasema: Amepagawa na pepo.
19 The sonne of man came eatinge and drinkinge and they saye beholde a glutton and drynker of wyne and a frend vnto publicas and synners. Never the later wysdome ys iustified of hir children.
Mwana wa Mtu akaja, anakula na kunywa, nao wakasema: Mtazameni huyu, mlafi na mlevi, rafiki yao watoza ushuru na wahalifu! Hata hivyo, hekima ya Mungu inathibitishwa kuwa njema kutokana na matendo yake.”
20 Then bega he to vpbrayd the cities in which most of his miracles were done because they meded not.
Kisha Yesu akaanza kuilaumu miji ambayo, ingawaje alifanya miujiza mingi humo, watu wake hawakutaka kubadili nia zao mbaya:
21 Wo be to ye Chorasin. Wo be to ye Betzaida: for if the miracles which were shewd in you had bene done in Tyre and Sidon they had repented longe agone in sackcloth and asshes.
“Ole wako Korazini! Ole wako Bethsaida! Maana, kama miujiza iliyofanyika kwako ingalifanyika kule Tiro na Sidoni, watu wake wangalikwisha vaa mavazi ya gunia na kujipaka majivu zamani, ili kuonyesha kwamba wametubu.
22 Neverthelesse I say to you: it shall be esier for Tyre and Sidon at the day of iudgemet then for you.
Hata hivyo nawaambieni, Siku ya hukumu, ninyi mtapata adhabu kubwa kuliko Tiro na Sidoni.
23 And thou Capernau which art lift vp vnto heve shalt be brought doune to hell. For if the miracles which have bene done in the had bene shewed in zodom: they had remayned to this daye. (Hadēs g86)
Na wewe Kafarnaumu, je, utajikweza mpaka mbinguni? Utaporomoshwa mpaka Kuzimu! Maana, kama miujiza iliyofanyika kwako ingalifanyika kule Sodoma, mji huo ungalikuwako mpaka hivi leo. (Hadēs g86)
24 Neverthelesse I saye vnto you: it shalbe easiar for ye londe of zodo in the daye of iudgemet the for ye.
Lakini nawaambieni, Siku ya hukumu itakuwa nafuu zaidi kwa watu wa Sodoma, kuliko kwako wewe.”
25 At yt tyme Iesus answered and sayd: I prayse ye o father lorde of heve and erth because thou hast hid these thinges fro the wyse and prudet and hast opened the vnto babes:
Wakati huo Yesu alisema, “Nakushukuru ee Baba, Bwana wa mbingu na dunia, maana umewaficha wenye hekima mambo haya, ukawafumbulia watoto wadogo.
26 eve so father for so it pleased ye.
Naam Baba, ndivyo ilivyokupendeza.
27 All thinges are geve vnto me of my father. And noma knoweth ye sonne but ye father: nether knoweth eny ma ye father save ye sonne and he to whome ye sonne will ope him.
“Baba yangu amenikabidhi vitu vyote. Hakuna amjuaye Mwana ila Baba, wala amjuaye Baba ila Mwana, na yeyote yule ambaye Mwana atapenda kumjulisha.
28 Come vnto me all ye that laboure and are laden and I wyll ease you.
Njoni kwangu ninyi nyote msumbukao na kulemewa na mizigo, nami nitawapumzisha.
29 Take my yoke on you and lerne of me for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynd rest vnto youre soules.
Jifungeni nira yangu, mkajifunze kwangu, maana mimi ni mpole na mnyenyekevu wa moyo, nanyi mtatulizwa rohoni mwenu.
30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Maana, nira niwapayo mimi ni laini, na mzigo wangu ni mwepesi.”
