Matthew 8
1 When Jesus had come down from the hill, great crowds followed him.
А когато слезе от хълма, последваха Го големи множества.
2 And he saw a leper who came up, and bowed to the ground before him, and said: “Master, if only you are willing, you are able to make me clean.”
И, ето, един прокажен дойде при Него, кланяше Му се и каза: Господи, ако искаш, можеш да ме очистиш.
3 Stretching out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying as he did so: “I am willing; become clean.” Instantly he was made clean from his leprosy;
Тогава Исус простря ръка и се допря до него и рече: Искам; бъди очистен. И на часа му се очисти проказата.
4 and then Jesus said to him: “Be careful not to say a word to any one, but go and show yourself to the Priest, and offer the gift directed by Moses, as evidence of your cure.”
И Исус му каза: гледай да не кажеш това никому; но, за свидетелство на тях, иди да се покажеш на свещеника, и принеси дара, който Мойсей е заповядал.
5 After Jesus had entered Capernaum, a Captain in the Roman army came up to him, entreating his help.
А когато влезе в Кипернаум, един стотник дойде при Него и Му се молеше, казвайки:
6 “Sir,” he said, “my manservant is lying ill at my house with a stroke of paralysis, and is suffering terribly.”
Господи, слугата ми лежи у дома парализиран, и много се мъчи.
7 “I will come and cure him,” answered Jesus.
Той му казва: Ще дойда и ще го изцеля.
8 “Sir,” the Captain went on, “I am unworthy to receive you under my roof; but only speak, and my manservant will be cured.
Стотникът в отговор Му рече: Господи не съм достоен да влезеш под стряхата ми; но кажи само една дума, и слугата ми ще оздравее.
9 For I myself am a man under the orders of others, with soldiers under me; and, if I say to one of them ‘Go,’ he goes, and to another ‘Come,’ he comes, and to my slave ‘Do this,’ he does it.”
Защото и аз съм подвластен човек и имам подчинени на мен войници; и казвам на тогова: Иди, и той отива; и на друг: Дойди, и той дохожда; а на слугата си: Стори това, и го струва.
10 Jesus was surprised to hear this, and said to those who were following him: “Never I tell you, in any Israelite have I met with such faith as this!
Исус, като чу това, почуди се, и рече на ония, които идеха изподире: Истина ви казвам, нито в Израиля съм намерил толкова вяра.
11 Yes, and many will come in from East and West and take their places beside Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven;
Но казвам ви, че мнозина ще дойдат от изток и запад, и ще насядат с Авраама, Исаака и Якова в небесното царство;
12 while the heirs to the Kingdom will be ‘banished into the darkness’ outside; there, there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.”
а чадата на царството ще бъдат изхвърлени във външната тъмнина; там ще бъде плач и скърцане със зъби.
13 Then Jesus said to the Captain: “Go now, and it shall be according to your faith.” And the man was cured that very hour.
Тогава Исус рече на стотника: Иди си; както си повярвал, така нека ти бъде. И слугата оздравя в същия час.
14 When Jesus went into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law prostrated with fever.
И когато дойде Исус в къщата на Петра, видя, че тъща му лежеше болна от треска.
15 On his taking her hand, the fever left her, and she rose and began to wait upon him.
И допря се до ръката й, и треската я остави; и тя стана да Му прислужва.
16 In the evening the people brought to Jesus many who were possessed by demons; and he drove out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were ill,
А когато се свечери, доведоха при Него мнозина хванати от бяс; и Той изгони духовете с една дума, и изцели всичките болни;
17 in fulfilment of these words in the Prophet Isaiah — ‘He took our infirmities on himself, and bore the burden of our diseases.’
за да се сбъдне реченото чрез пророк Исаия, който казва: “Той взе на Себе Си нашите немощи, И болестите ни понесе”.
18 Seeing a crowd round him, Jesus gave orders to go across.
И като видя Исус около Себе Си много народ, заповяда да минат отвъд езерото.
19 And a Teacher of the Law came up to him, and said: “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
И дойде един книжник и Му рече: Учителю, ще вървя след Тебе където и да идеш.
20 “Foxes have holes,” answered Jesus, “and wild birds their roosting-places, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Исус му каза: Лисиците си имат леговища, и небесните птици гнезда; а Човешкият Син няма где глава да подслони.
21 “Master,” said another, who was a disciple, “let me first go and bury my father.”
А друг от учениците Му рече: Господи, позволи ми първо да отида и погреба баща си.
22 But Jesus answered: “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.”
Но Исус му рече: Върви след Мене, и остави мъртвите да погребат своите мъртъвци.
23 Then he got into the boat, followed by his disciples.
И когато влезе в една ладия, учениците Му влязоха подир Него.
24 Suddenly so great a storm came on upon the Sea, that the waves broke right over the boat. But Jesus was asleep;
И, ето, голяма буря се подигна на езерото, до толкова щото вълните покриваха ладията; а Той спеше.
25 and the disciples came and roused him. “Master,” they cried, “save us; we are lost!”
Тогава се приближиха, събудиха Го и казаха: Господи, спаси! Загиваме!
26 “Why are you so timid?” he said. “O men of little faith!” Then Jesus rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm followed.
А Той им каза: Защо сте страхливи, маловерци? Тогава стана, смъмри ветровете и вълните, и настана голяма тишина.
27 The men were amazed, and exclaimed: “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!”
А човеците се чудеха и казваха: Какъв е Тоя, че и ветровете и вълните(Гръцки: Морето.) Му се покоряват?
28 And on getting to the other side — the country of the Gadarenes — Jesus met two men who were possessed by demons, coming out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one was able to pass that way.
И когато дойде на отвъдната страна, в гадаринската земя, срещнаха Го двама хванати от бяс, които излизаха от гробищата, твърде свирепи, така щото никой не можеше да мине през онзи път.
29 Suddenly they shrieked out: “What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before our time?”
И, ето, извикаха, казвайки: Какво имаш с нас, Ти Божий Сине? Нима си дошъл тука преди време да ни мъчиш?
30 A long way off, there was a drove of many pigs, feeding;
А надалеч от тях имаше голямо стадо свине, което пасеше.
31 and the foul spirits began begging Jesus: “If you drive us out, send us into the drove of pigs.”
И бесовете му се молеха, думайки: Ако ни изпъдиш, изпрати ни в стадото свине.
32 “Go,” he said. The spirits came out, and entered the pigs; and the whole drove rushed down the steep slope into the Sea, and died in the water.
И рече им: Идете. И те като излязоха, отидоха в свинете; и, ето, цялото стадо се спусна долу по стръмнината в езерото, и загина във водата.
33 At this the men who tended them ran away and went to the town, carrying the news of all that had occurred, and of what had happened to the possessed men.
А свинарите побягнаха, и като отидоха в града разказаха всичко, и това що бе станало с хванатите от бяс.
34 At the news the whole town went out to meet Jesus, and, when they saw him, they entreated him to go away from their neighbourhood.
И, ето, целият град излезе да посрещне Исуса; и като Го видяха, помолиха Му се да си отиде от техните предели.
