2 Thessalonians 2
1 As to the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being gathered to meet him, we beg you, Brothers,
Pero con respecto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y nuestra reunión con Él, les rogamos, hermanos,
2 not lightly to let your minds become unsettled, nor yet to be disturbed by any revelation, or by any message, or by any letter, purporting to come from us, to the effect that the Day of the Lord is come.
que no se muevan fácilmente del entendimiento, ni sean perturbados por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por epístola como [si fuera] de nosotros, en el sentido de que el día del Señor llegó.
3 Do not let any one deceive you, whatever he may do. For it will not come until after the Great Apostasy, and the appearing of that Incarnation of Wickedness, that the Lost soul,
¡Que nadie los engañe en ninguna manera! Pues [no sucederá] si la apostasía no viene primero, y se manifiesta el hombre de iniquidad, el hijo de destrucción,
4 who so opposes himself to every one that is spoken of as a God or as an object of worship, and so exalts himself above them, that he seats himself in the Temple of God, and displays himself as God!
el oponente que se levanta contra todo lo que es llamado Dios o es objeto de adoración, hasta el punto de tomar asiento en el Santuario de Dios para proclamar que él mismo es Dios.
5 Do not you remember how, when I was with you, I used to speak to you of all this?
¿No recuerdan que les decía estas cosas cuando yo estaba aún con ustedes?
6 And you know now what the restraining influence is which prevents his appearing before his appointed time.
Ahora saben lo que [lo] detiene, a fin de que sea revelado en el tiempo de él.
7 Wickedness, indeed, is already at work in secret; but only until he who at present restrains it is removed out of the way.
Porque ya se mueve el misterio de la iniquidad. En el tiempo presente está el que [lo] detiene, hasta que sea quitado de en medio.
8 Then will ‘Wickedness Incarnate’ appear, but the Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his lips, and annihilate him by the splendour of his Coming.
Entonces se manifestará el inicuo, a quien el Señor matará con el aliento de su boca, y [lo] reducirá a la impotencia con la gloria de su venida.
9 For at the Coming of the Lord there will be great activity on the part of Satan, in the form of all kinds of deceptive miracles, signs, and marvels, as well as of wicked attempts to delude —
La venida [del inicuo] es por operación de Satanás, con toda clase de poderes, señales milagrosas y prodigios falsos,
10 to the ruin of those who are on the path to destruction, because they have never received and loved the Truth to their own Salvation.
y con todo engaño de iniquidad para los que se pierden, porque no aceptaron el amor a la verdad para ser salvos.
11 That is why God places them under the influence of a delusion, to cause them to believe a lie;
Por esto Dios les envía una operación engañosa para que ellos crean en la mentira,
12 so that sentence may be passed on all those who refuse to believe the Truth, but delight in wickedness.
a fin de que sean juzgados todos los que no creyeron en la verdad, sino se deleitaron en la injusticia.
13 But, Brothers, whom the Lord loves, it is our duty always to thank God about you, for, from the first, God chose you for Salvation through the purifying influence of the Spirit, and your belief in the Truth.
Hermanos amados por [el] Señor, nosotros tenemos que dar gracias siempre a Dios por ustedes, pues desde el principio Él los escogió para salvación por medio de la santificación del espíritu y fe en la verdad.
14 To this you were called by the Good News which we brought you, to attain to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A esto los llamó por medio de nuestras Buenas Noticias para que obtengan la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
15 Stand firm then, Brothers, and hold fast to the truths that we taught you, whether by word or by letter.
Así que, hermanos, estén firmes y retengan las tradiciones como las enseñamos, bien por palabra o por epístola nuestra.
16 And may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and, in his loving-kindness, gave us unfailing consolation and good ground for hope, (aiōnios g166)
El mismo Señor nuestro, Jesucristo, y Dios nuestro Padre, Quien nos amó y nos dio consolación eterna y buena esperanza por gracia, (aiōnios g166)
17 console your hearts, and strengthen you to do and to say all that is right.
consuele y confirme sus corazones en toda obra y buena palabra.
