< Psalms 96 >

1 Sing to Yahweh a new song! [You people] throughout the earth, sing to Yahweh!
Waiatatia he waiata hou ki a Ihowa: waiata, e te whenua katoa, ki a Ihowa.
2 Sing to Yahweh and praise him [MTY]! Every day proclaim [to others] that he has saved/rescued us.
Waiata ki a Ihowa, whakapaingia tona ingoa: whakakitea tana whakaoranga i tenei ra, i tenei ra.
3 Tell about his glory/greatness to all people-groups; tell all people-groups the marvelous [things that he has done].
Whakapuakina tona kororia i waenganui i nga tauiwi, ana mahi whakamiharo i waenganui i nga iwi katoa.
4 Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be praised very much; he should be revered more than for all the gods,
He nui hoki a Ihowa, he tika ano kia nui te whakamoemiti ki a ia: kia wehingia nuitia ai i nga atua katoa.
5 because all the gods that other people-groups [worship] are [only] idols, but Yahweh [is truly great]; he created the skies!
He whakapakoko hoki nga atua katoa o nga iwi: na Ihowa ia i hanga nga rangi.
6 Those who are in his presence honor him and can see that he is a great king. They can see in his temple that he is very powerful and is very beautiful.
He honore, he kororia kei tona aroaro: kei tona wahi tapu te kaha me te ataahua.
7 You people in nations all over the earth, praise Yahweh! Praise Yahweh for his glorious power [HEN]!
Waiho atu i a Ihowa, e nga hapu katoa o nga iwi: waiho atu i a Ihowa te kororia me te kaha.
8 Praise Yahweh like he deserves to be praised, Bring an offering and come to his temple.
Waiho atu i a Ihowa te kororia e tika ana mo tona ingoa: maua mai he whakahere, haere mai hoki ki ona marae.
9 Bow down before Yahweh [when he appears] in his holy/sacred temple; everyone on the earth should tremble in front of him, because he is majestic and holy.
Koropiko ki a Ihowa i roto i te ataahua o te tapu: kia wehi ra ki tona aroaro, e te whenua katoa.
10 Say to all the people-groups, “Yahweh is the king! He put the world in its place, and nothing will ever be able to move/shake it. He will judge [all] the people-groups fairly.”
Mea atu i waenganui o nga tauiwi, E kingi ana a Ihowa: ka u te whenua, te taea te whakangaueue; ka tika ana whakawa mo nga iwi.
11 [All the beings that are in] [MTY] the heavens should be glad, and all [the people on the] earth should rejoice. The oceans and all the creatures that are in the oceans should roar [to praise Yahweh].
Kia hari nga rangi, kia koa te whenua, kia haruru te moana, me nga mea e hua ana i roto.
12 The fields and everything that grows in them should rejoice. When they do that, [it will be as though] all the trees in the forests will sing joyfully
Kia hari te mara, me nga mea katoa i runga: ko reira ano koa ai nga rakau katoa o te ngahere;
13 in front of Yahweh. That will happen when he comes to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth. He will judge all the people fairly/justly, according to [what he knows is] true.
Ki te aroaro o Ihowa, e haere mai ana hoki ia; e haere mai ana ia ki te whakawa mo te whenua: ka whakawa ia mo te ao i runga i te tika, mo nga iwi hoki i runga i tona pono.
