Psalms 75
1 We give thanks to you; our God, we thank you. You are close to us, and we proclaim to others the wonderful things that you have done [for us].
Pour le chef musicien. Sur l'air de « Do Not Destroy ». Un psaume d'Asaph. Une chanson. Nous te rendons grâce, Dieu. Nous rendons grâce, car ton Nom est proche. Les hommes racontent tes merveilles.
2 [You have said], “I have appointed a time when I will judge people, and I will judge [everyone] fairly.
Quand je choisis l'heure prévue, Je jugerai de manière irréprochable.
3 When the earth shakes and all the creatures on the earth tremble, I am the one who will (keep its foundations steady/prevent it from being destroyed).
La terre et tous ses habitants tremblent. Je tiens fermement ses piliers. (Selah)
4 I say to people who (boast/talk proudly about themselves), ‘Stop bragging!’ and I say to wicked people, ‘Do not proudly [do things to] show how great you are [IDM]!
J'ai dit aux arrogants: « Ne te vante pas! » J'ai dit aux méchants: « N'élevez pas la corne.
5 Do not be arrogant, and do not speak so boastfully!’”
N'élevez pas votre cor en haut. Ne parlez pas avec un cou raide. »
6 The one who judges people does not come from the east or from the west, and he does not come from the desert.
Car ni de l'est, ni de l'ouest, ni encore du sud, vient l'exaltation.
7 God is the one who judges people; he says that some have sinned and must be punished, and that others have not done what is wrong.
Mais Dieu est le juge. Il renverse l'un et relève l'autre.
8 [It is as though] Yahweh holds a cup in his hand; it is filled with wine that [has spices] mixed in it [to cause those who drink it to become more drunk]; and when Yahweh pours it out, he will force all the wicked people to drink it; they will drink every drop of it, [which means that he will give them all the punishment that they deserve].
Car il y a une coupe dans la main de Yahvé, pleine de vin mousseux mélangé à des épices. Il le déverse. En effet, les méchants de la terre boivent et le boivent jusqu'à la lie.
9 But [as for me], I will never stop saying what the God whom Jacob [worshiped has done]; I will never quit singing to praise him.
Mais je le déclarerai à jamais: Je chanterai les louanges du Dieu de Jacob.
10 He will destroy the power [IDM] of wicked people, but he will cause righteous people to become more powerful.
Je couperai toutes les cornes des méchants, mais les cornes des justes s'élèveront.
