Psalms 62
1 God is the only one who can give me peace in my inner being, and he is the one who saves me [from my enemies].
Veisuunjohtajalle; Jedutunin tapaan; Daavidin virsi. Jumalaa yksin minun sieluni hiljaisuudessa odottaa, häneltä tulee minulle apu.
2 Only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he will be [like] a shelter, [with the result that] I will never be defeated [MET].
Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä suuresti horju.
3 When will you, [my enemies], stop attacking me [RHQ]? I feel that I am [as useless against you as] a wall that is about to fall over or a broken-down fence [MET].
Kuinka kauan te yhtä miestä ahdistatte, hänet yhdessä surmataksenne, niinkuin hän olisi kaatuva seinä, niinkuin murrettu muuri?
4 My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say [MTY], but in their inner beings they curse [those people].
He vain pitävät neuvoa, miten syöstä hänet korkeudestaan. He rakastavat valhetta, he siunaavat suullansa ja kiroavat sydämessänsä. (Sela)
5 God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect [to help me].
Odota yksin Jumalaa hiljaisuudessa, minun sieluni, sillä häneltä tulee minun toivoni.
6 Only he is [like an overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he is [like] a shelter, and [as a result] I will never be defeated.
Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä horju.
7 God is the one who saves me and honors me. He is [like an overhanging] strong rock under which I [can] find shelter [MET].
Jumalassa on minun apuni ja kunniani. Minun väkevyyteni kallio, minun turvani on Jumala.
8 [You my] people, always trust in him. Tell him all your troubles, because he is (our refuge/the one who protects us) [MET].
Turvatkaa häneen joka aika, te kansa; vuodattakaa hänen eteensä sydämenne. Jumala on meidän turvamme. (Sela)
9 People who are considered to be unimportant are [as worthless/unreliable as] a breath of air; people who are considered to be important [also] really (amount to nothing/cannot be trusted [to help us)]. If you put them all on a scale, [it would be as if] they weighed less than a puff of air.
Vain tuulen henkäystä ovat ihmiset, vain valhetta ihmisten lapset: kaikki he nousevat vaa'assa ylös köykäisempinä kuin tuulenhenkäys.
10 Do not trust in money gained by extorting it from others; do not try to gain anything by robbing others. If you become very wealthy, do not trust in [IDM] your money.
Älkää luottako väkivaltaan, älkää turhaan panko toivoanne ryöstettyyn tavaraan. Jos rikkautta karttuu, älkää siihen sydäntänne kiinnittäkö.
11 I have heard God say more than once that he is the one who [really] has power,
Kerran on Jumala sanonut, kahdesti olen sen kuullut: väkevyys on Jumalan.
12 and that he is the one who faithfully loves [us]. He rewards every one [of us] according to the deeds that we do.
Ja sinun, Herra, on armo; sillä sinä maksat kullekin hänen tekojensa mukaan.
