2 Chronicles 19

1 When King Jehoshaphat was returning safely to his palace in Jerusalem,

और शाह — ए — यहूदाह यहूसफ़त येरूशलेम को अपने महल में सलामत लौटा।

2 the prophet Jehu, the son of [the prophet] Hanani, went out of the city to meet the king, and said to him, “It was not right for you to help a wicked man and to love those who hate Yahweh. Because of what you have done, Yahweh is angry with you.

तब हनानी ग़ैबबीन का बेटा याहू उसके इस्तक़बाल को निकला, और यहूसफ़त बादशाह से कहने लगा, क्या मुनासिब है कि तू शरीरों की मदद करे, और ख़ुदावन्द के दुश्मनों से मुहब्बत रखें? इस बात की वजह से ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से तुझ पर ग़ज़ब है।

3 But you have done some good things; you got rid of the poles in this country for [worshiping the goddess] Asherah, and you have strongly determined to do what pleases God.”

तो भी तुझ में ख़ूबियाँ हैं; क्यूँकि तू ने यसीरतों को मुल्क में से दफ़ा' किया, और ख़ुदा की तलाश में अपना दिल लगाया है।

4 Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem. But [one time], like he had done once previously, he went out among all the people in the country, from Beersheba [city in the far south] to the hilly area of [the tribe of] Ephraim [in the far north], and he convinced them to return to [worshiping] Yahweh, the God whom their ancestors [worshiped].

यहूसफ़त येरूशलेम में रहता था, और उसने फिर बैरसबा' से इफ़्राईम के पहाड़ी तक लोगों के बीच दौरा करके, उनको ख़ुदावन्द उनके बाप — दादा के ख़ुदा की तरफ़ फिर मोड़ दिया।

5 He appointed judges throughout Judah, in each of the cities that had walls around them.

उसने यहूदाह के सब फ़सीलदार शहरों में शहर — ब — शहर क़ाज़ी मुक़र्रर किए,

6 He told them, “Make your decisions carefully, because you are judging cases not [in order] to [please] people but to [please] Yahweh. And he will be watching you whenever you make a decision.

और क़ाज़ियों से कहा, जो कुछ करो सोच समझकर करो, क्यूँकि तुम आदमियों की तरफ़ से नहीं, बल्कि ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से 'अदालत करते हो; और वह फ़ैसले में तुम्हारे साथ है।

7 So now revere Yahweh, and judge cases carefully, [and do not forget that] Yahweh our God never acts unjustly, and he never does what people want because of their offering him money; he never accepts bribes.”

फिर ख़ुदावन्द का ख़ौफ़ तुम में रहे; इसलिए ख़बरदारी से काम करना, क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द हमारे ख़ुदा में बेइन्साफ़ी नहीं है, और न किसी की रूदारी न रिश्वत ख़ोरी।

8 In Jerusalem also, Jehoshaphat appointed some priests and other descendants of Levi and some leaders of Israeli families [to be judges]. He told them to do what Yahweh’s laws said was right when they settled disputes. Those men lived in Jerusalem.

और येरूशलेम में भी यहूसफ़त ने लावियों और काहिनों और इस्राईल के आबाई ख़ान्दानों के सरदारों में से लोगों को, ख़ुदावन्द की 'अदालत और मुक़द्दमों के लिए मुक़र्रर किया; और वह येरूशलेम को लौटे

9 He told them this: “You must always do your work faithfully, revering Yahweh.

और उसने उनको ताकीद की और कहा कि तुम ख़ुदावन्द के ख़ौफ़ से दियानतदारी और कामिल दिल से ऐसा करना।

10 In every dispute that your fellow Israelis who live in the cities want you to settle, you must warn them to not sin against Yahweh [by telling lies during the trial]. If you do not warn them, God will punish both you and your fellow Israelis. If you warn them, you will not be sinning. You must warn them whether [someone has accused them] of murdering someone, or of disobeying some other law or command or decree [of Yahweh].

जब कभी तुम्हारे भाइयों की तरफ़ से जो अपने शहरों में रहते हैं, कोई मुक़द्दमा तुम्हारे सामने आए, जो आपस के ख़ून से या शरी'अत और फ़रमान या क़ानून और 'अदालत से ता'अल्लुक़ रखता हो, तो तुम उनको आगाह कर देना कि वह ख़ुदावन्द का गुनाह न करें, जिससे तुम पर और तुम्हारे भाइयों पर ग़ज़ब नाज़िल हो। यह करो तो तुम से ख़ता न होगी।

11 Amariah the Supreme Priest will supervise you in any matter that Yahweh is concerned about, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the leader of the tribe of Judah, will supervise you in any matter that I am responsible for. And the descendants of Levi will assist you. Act courageously, and I pray that Yahweh will help those who do their work well.”

और देखो, ख़ुदावन्द के सब मु'आमिलों में अमरियाह काहिन तुम्हारा सरदार है, और बादशाह के सब मु'आमिलों में ज़बदियाह बिन इस्माईल है, जो यहूदाह के ख़ान्दान का रहनुमा है; और लावी भी तुम्हारे आगे सरदार होंगे। हौसले के साथ काम करना और ख़ुदावन्द नेकों के साथ हो।
