Mark 8
1 In those days, when there was a very large crowd that had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples over and said to them,
೧ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಪುನಃ ದೊಡ್ಡಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಊಟಮಾಡಲು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹಾರವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದು,
2 “I have compassion on the crowd because they have stayed with me now for three days and have nothing to eat.
೨“ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕನಿಕರಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಇವರು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಇವರಿಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
3 If I send them away to their homes without having eaten, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come from far away.”
೩ಇವರನ್ನು ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಾರು. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4 His disciples answered him, “How can anyone feed these people with bread here in the wilderness?”
೪ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು, “ಈ ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತಂದು ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾದೀತು?” ಅಂದರು.
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
೫ಆತನು, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿವೆ?” ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ಇವೆ” ಅಂದರು.
6 So he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground, and taking the seven loaves, he gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to his disciples to distribute, and they set them before the crowd.
೬ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಆ ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಲು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಅವರು ಗುಂಪಿನವರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
7 They also had a few small fish. After blessing the fish, Jesus told the disciples to set them before the crowd as well.
೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಸಣ್ಣ ಮೀನುಗಳಿದ್ದವು; ಆತನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
8 They ate and were filled, and the disciples picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full.
೮ಜನರು ತಿಂದು ತೃಪ್ತರಾದರು. ಉಳಿದ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಏಳು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಿದವು.
9 There were about four thousand men who had eaten. After sending them away,
೯ಊಟಮಾಡಿದವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಗಂಡಸರಿದ್ದರು.
10 Jesus immediately got into the boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
೧೦ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಕೂಡಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ದಲ್ಮನೂಥ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
11 Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, asking him for a sign from heaven, to test him.
೧೧ತರುವಾಯ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಆತನ ಕೂಡ ತರ್ಕಮಾಡಿ, ಆತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ, “ನೀನು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
12 Sighing deeply in his spirit, he said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
೧೨ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರುಬಿಟ್ಟು, “ಈ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದು ಏಕೆ? ನಿಮಗೆ ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಈ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಇದು ಖಂಡಿತ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 Then he left them, got into the boat again, and went away to the other side of the sea.
೧೩ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಆಚೇದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to bring bread, and they had nothing with them in the boat except for one loaf.
೧೪ಆದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮರೆತಿದ್ದರು. ದೋಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಒಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇತ್ತು; ಬೇರೆ ಏನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
15 Then Jesus gave them strict orders, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
೧೫ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆರೋದನ ಹುಳಿಹಿಟ್ಟಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದನು.
16 So they discussed this with one another, saying, “He must have said this because we have no bread.”
೧೬ಅವರು, “ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
17 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts still hardened?
೧೭ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು, “ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇಕೆ? ನೀವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಅಷ್ಟು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ?
18 Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? Do you not remember?
೧೮ಕಣ್ಣಿದ್ದು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಕಿವಿಯಿದ್ದು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” They said to him, “Twelve.”
೧೯ನಾನುಆ ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಸಿದಾಗ ಉಳಿದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಬುಟ್ಟಿ ತುಂಬಾ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದಿರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವರು, “ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು” ಅಂದರು.
20 “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” They said, “Seven.”
೨೦“ಮತ್ತುಆ ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುರಿದು ಹಂಚಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಎಷ್ಟು ಪುಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವರು, “ಏಳು ಪುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು” ಅಂದರು.
21 Then he said to them, “How is it that you do not understand?”
೨೧ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
22 When Jesus came to Bethsaida, some people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
೨೨ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದ ಊರಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುರುಡನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಇವನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
23 So he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then he spit on the man's eyes, laid his hands on him, and asked him if he saw anything.
೨೩ಆತನು ಕುರುಡನ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು ಊರ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗುಳು ಹಚ್ಚಿ, ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
24 The man looked up and said, “I can see people, but they look like trees walking around.”
೨೪ಅವನು ತಲೆಯೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿ, “ನನಗೆ ಜನರು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನಡೆದಾಡುವ ಮರಗಳಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದನು.
25 So Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes again and had him look up. Then the man's sight was restored, and he saw everyone clearly.
೨೫ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟನು; ಆಗ ಅವನು ಕಣ್ಣರಳಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ ಪೂರ್ಣ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಅವನು ನೋಡಲು ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು.
26 And Jesus sent him away to his house, saying, “Do not go into the village or tell anyone in the village what has happened.”
೨೬ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು, “ನೀನು ಊರೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
27 Then Jesus went on to the villages of Caesarea Philippi along with his disciples. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
೨೭ಯೇಸುವೂ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೂ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಕೈಸರೈಯ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟರು. ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು, “ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
28 They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others say that yoʋ are one of the prophets.”
೨೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಸ್ನಾನಿಕನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಕೆಲವರು ಎಲೀಯನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “Yoʋ are the Christ.”
೨೯ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು, ಕುರಿತು “ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲಾಗಿ ಪೇತ್ರನು, “ನೀನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
30 And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
೩೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು, “ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದನು.
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
೩೧ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನು, ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಂದಲೂ, ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರಿಂದಲೂ, ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬರಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
32 He was stating the matter plainly, so Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
೩೨ಆತನು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ “ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಗದರಿಸಿದನು.
33 But turning around and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind me, Satan! For yoʋ are not thinking about the things of God, but the things of men.”
೩೩ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ, “ಸೈತಾನನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗು! ನಿನ್ನ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರದಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ದೇವರದಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
34 Then he called the crowd over, along with his disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to follow me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
೩೪ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಿ.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will save it.
೩೫ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
36 For what will it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul?
೩೬ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಲೋಕವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ನಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವೇನು?
37 Or what can a person give in exchange for his soul?
೩೭ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಏನು ಈಡು ಕೊಡಲಾದೀತು?
38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
೩೮ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಣಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಈ ಪಾಪಿಷ್ಠ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕುರಿತು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುವರೋ, ಅಂಥವರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು, ತಾನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವದೊಡನೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವದೂತರ ಸಮೇತವಾಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ, ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುವನು” ಎಂದನು.
