Colossians 4

1 Masters, do equity and justice to your servants, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

De herrar, gjer imot dykkar tenarar det som rett og rimelegt er, då de veit at de og hev ein Herre i himmelen!

2 In prayer be constant, and be watchful in it, and (in) giving thanks;

Ver trottige i bøni, so de vaker i henne med takksegjing!

3 praying also for us, that Aloha may open to us the gate of the word, to speak the mystery of the Meshiha, for the sake of which I am bound,

Og bed for oss med, at Gud må opna oss ei dør for ordet til å forkynna Kristi løyndom, den som eg og er i lekkjor for,

4 that I may fully make it manifest, as it behoveth me.

so eg kann openberra honom so som eg bør tala.

5 In wisdom walk towards the outward ones, and redeem your opportunity.

Ferdast visleg med deim som er utanfor, so de kjøper den laglege tid!

6 And let your speech at all time be with grace as sprinkled with salt, each one knowing how it becometh him to return the answer.

Dykkar tale vere alltid tekkjeleg, krydda med salt, so de veit korleis de skal svara kvar og ein.

7 What concerneth me will Tykikos, a beloved brother and faithful minister, and our companion in the Lord, make known to you:

8 whom I have sent to you for this, that he may know how it is with you, and may comfort your hearts;

9 with Onesimos, the faithful and beloved brother who is of you. These will make you know what concerneth us.

10 Aristarchos, a captive with me, asketh for your peace, and Markos, the nephew of Bar Naba, regarding whom you are directed, that if he come to you, receive him,

Aristarkus, min medfange, helsar dykk, og Markus, Barnabas’ systkinbarn, som de fekk påbod um - når han kjem til dykk, so tak imot honom! -

11 and Jeshu who is called Justos: these are of the circumcision, and these only have helped me in the kingdom of Aloha, and these have been a consolation to me.

og Jesus som og er kalla Justus; desse er av dei umskorne dei einaste medarbeidarar for Guds rike som hev vorte meg til hugge.

12 Epaphra, who is of you, asketh for your peace; a servant of the Meshiha, who is always labouring on your behalf in prayer, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of Aloha.

Epafras helsar dykk, han som er ifrå dykk, ein Kristi Jesu tenar som alltid strider for dykk i sine bøner, at de må standa fullkomne og fullvisse i all Guds vilje;

13 For I testify of him that he hath a great zeal for you and for those in Laodikia and in Iropolis.

for eg gjev honom det vitnemål, at han hev mykje stræv for dykk og deim i Laodikea og deim i Hierapolis.

14 Lukos our beloved physician, and Dima, ask for your peace.

Lukas helsar dykk, den kjære lækjaren, og Demas.

15 Ask the peace of the brethren who are in Laodikia, and of Nymfa, and of the church which is in his house.

Helsa brørne i Laodikea, og Nymfas og kyrkjelyden i hans hus!

16 And when this epistle shall have been read to you, cause it also to be read in the church of the Laodikoyee; and that which is written from the Laodikoyee, read you it.

Og når dette brevet er lese hjå dykk, so syt for at det og vert lese i kyrkjelyden hjå laodikearane, og at de fær lesa brevet frå Laodikea!

17 And say to Arkipos, Be vigilant in the ministry which thou hast received in our Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Og seg til Arkippus: «Tak vare på den tenesta som du hev motteke i Herren, so du fullfører henne!»

18 This salutation with the hand of me, PAULOS. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.
