< Proverbs 17 >

1 [is] good A morsel dry and quietness with it more than a house full sacrifices of strife.
Bolji je zalogaj suha hljeba s mirom nego kuæa puna poklane stoke sa svaðom.

Razuman sluga biæe gospodar nad sinom sramotnijem i s braæom æe dijeliti našljedstvo.
3 A crucible [is] for silver and a smelting furnace [is] for gold and [is] testing hearts Yahweh.

Zao èovjek pazi na usne zle, a lažljivac sluša jezik pakostan.

Ko se ruga siromahu, sramoti stvoritelja njegova; ko se raduje nesreæi, neæe ostati bez kara.
6 [are the] crown of Old [people] children of children and [are the] honor of children parents their.
Vijenac su starcima unuci, a slava sinovima oci njihovi.
7 Not [is] suitable for a fool a lip of excellence indeed? for for a noble [person] a lip of deception.
Ne prilièi bezumnom visoka besjeda, akamoli knezu lažljiva besjeda.

Ukor tišti razumnoga veæma nego ludoga sto udaraca.
11 Only rebellion he seeks an evil [person] and a messenger cruel he will be sent in him.
Zao èovjek traži samo odmet, ali æe se ljut glasnik poslati na nj.

Ko opravda krivoga i ko osudi pravoga, obojica su gad Gospodu.
16 Why? this [is] a price in [the] hand of a fool to acquire wisdom and [is] heart there not.
Na što je blago bezumnome u ruci kad nema razuma da pribavi mudrost?
17 At every time [is] loving the friend and a brother for adversity he is born.
U svako doba ljubi prijatelj, i brat postaje u nevolji.
18 A person lacking of heart [is] striking a palm [is] pledging a pledge before neighbor his.
Èovjek bezuman daje ruku i jamèi se za prijatelja svojega.
19 [one who] loves Transgression [is] loving contention [one who] makes high entrance his [is] seeking ruin.
Ko miluje svaðu, miluje grijeh; ko podiže uvis vrata svoja, traži pogibao.
20 [a person] twisted of Heart not he finds good and [one who] is perverted in tongue his he falls in trouble.
Ko je opaka srca, neæe naæi dobra; i ko dvolièi jezikom, pašæe u zlo.
21 [one who] begets A fool to grief of him and not he rejoices [the] father of a fool.
Ko rodi bezumna, na žalost mu je, niti æe se radovati otac luda.
22 A heart joyful it makes good healing and a spirit stricken it dries up bone[s].
Srce veselo pomaže kao lijek, a duh žalostan suši kosti.
23 A bribe from [the] bosom a wicked [person] he accepts to turn aside [the] paths of justice.
Bezbožnik prima poklon iz njedara da prevrati putove pravdi.
24 [is] with [the] face of [one who] has understanding Wisdom and [the] eyes of a fool [are] at [the] end of [the] earth.
Razumnomu je na licu mudrost, a oèi bezumniku vrljaju nakraj zemlje.
25 [is] grief To father his a son a fool and bitterness to [the] [one who] bore him.
Žalost je ocu svojemu sin bezuman, i jad roditeljci svojoj.
26 Also to impose a fine to righteous [person] not [is] good to strike noble [people] [is] on uprightness.
Nije dobro globiti pravednika, ni da knezovi biju koga što je radio pravo.
27 [one who] restrains Words his [is] knowing knowledge ([a person] noble of *QK) spirit [is] a person of understanding.
Usteže rijeèi svoje èovjek koji zna, i tiha je duha èovjek razuman.
28 Also a fool [who] keeps silent wise he is considered [who] shuts lips his discerning.
I bezuman kad muèi, misli se da je mudar, i razuman, kad stiskuje usne svoje.
