Philippians 2

1 If [there is] any therefore encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of [the] Spirit, if (any *N+kO) affections and compassions,

Wenn es nun irgend eine Ermunterung gibt in Christo, wenn irgend einen Trost der Liebe, wenn irgend eine Gemeinschaft des Geistes, wenn irgend innerliche Gefühle und Erbarmungen,

2 do fulfill my joy so that the same you may be minded, the same love having, united in soul, the same thing minding,

so erfüllet meine Freude, daß ihr einerlei gesinnt seid, dieselbe Liebe habend, einmütig, eines Sinnes,

3 nothing according to self-interest (nor *N+kO) (according to *no) vain conceit but in humility one another be esteeming surpassing themselves;

nichts aus Parteisucht [O. Streitsucht] oder eitlem Ruhm tuend, sondern in der Demut einer den anderen höher achtend als sich selbst;

4 not the [things] their own (each one *NK+o) (considering *N+kO) but also the [things] of others (everyone. *N+kO)

ein jeder nicht auf das Seinige sehend, sondern ein jeder auch auf das der anderen.

5 This (for *k) (do be thinking *N+kO) in you which also in Christ Jesus [was]:

Denn diese Gesinnung sei in [O. unter] euch, die auch in Christo Jesu war,

6 Who in [the] form of God existing not something to be grasped considered to be equal with God,

welcher, da er in Gestalt Gottes war, es nicht für einen Raub achtete, Gott gleich zu sein,

7 but Himself emptied [the] form of a servant having taken, in [the] likeness of men having been made,

sondern sich selbst zu nichts machte [W. sich selbst entäußerte oder entleerte] und Knechtsgestalt annahm, indem er in Gleichheit der Menschen geworden ist,

8 And in appearance having been found as a man He humbled Himself having become obedient unto death, [the] death even of [the] cross;

und, in seiner Gestalt [O. Haltung, äußere Erscheinung] wie ein Mensch erfunden, sich selbst erniedrigte, indem er gehorsam ward bis zum Tode, ja, zum Tode am Kreuze.

9 Therefore also God Him highly exalted and granted to Him (the *no) name above every name,

Darum hat Gott ihn auch hoch erhoben und ihm einen [O. nach and. Les.: den] Namen gegeben, der über jeden Namen ist,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee may bow in the heavens and on earth and under the earth,

auf daß in dem Namen Jesu jedes Knie sich beuge, der Himmlischen und Irdischen und Unterirdischen,

11 and every tongue may confess that [is] Lord Jesus Christ to [the] glory of God [the] Father.

und jede Zunge bekenne, daß Jesus Christus Herr ist, zur Verherrlichung Gottes, des Vaters.

12 Therefore, beloved of mine, even as always you have obeyed, not as in the presence of me only but now much more in the absence of me, with fear and trembling your own salvation do work out;

Daher, meine Geliebten, gleichwie ihr allezeit gehorsam gewesen seid, nicht allein als in meiner Gegenwart, sondern jetzt vielmehr in meiner Abwesenheit, bewirket [O. wirket aus, vollführet] eure eigene Seligkeit [O. Errettung, Heil] mit Furcht und Zittern;

13 God for is the [One] working in you both to will and to work according to [His] good pleasure.

denn Gott ist es, der in euch wirkt sowohl das Wollen als auch das Wirken, nach seinem Wohlgefallen.

14 All things do perform without murmurings and disputings,

Tut alles ohne Murren und zweifelnde Überlegungen,

15 so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God (blameless *N+kO) (in *k) ([the] midst *N+kO) of a generation crooked and perverted among whom you shine as lights in [the] world,

auf daß ihr tadellos und lauter [O. einfältig] seid, unbescholtene Kinder Gottes, inmitten eines verdrehten und verkehrten Geschlechts, unter welchem ihr scheinet [Eig. erscheinet, aufgehet] wie Lichter [O. Himmelslichter] in der Welt,

16 [the] word of life holding forth, unto a boast to me myself in [the] day of Christ that not in vain I did run nor in vain toil.

darstellend das Wort des Lebens, mir zum Ruhm auf den Tag Christi, daß ich nicht vergeblich gelaufen bin, noch auch vergeblich gearbeitet habe.

17 but if even I am being poured out on the sacrifice and on [the] service of the faith of you, I am glad and I rejoice with all you;

Wenn ich aber auch als Trankopfer über das Opfer [Eig. Schlachtopfer] und den Dienst eures Glaubens gesprengt werde, so freue ich mich und freue mich mit euch allen.

18 And likewise also you yourselves do be glad and do rejoice with me.

Gleicherweise [O. Desselbigen] aber freuet auch ihr euch und freuet euch mit mir.

19 I hope however in [the] Lord Jesus Timothy soon to send to you, that I myself also I myself also may be encouraged having known the [things] concerning you;

Ich hoffe aber in dem Herrn Jesus, Timotheus bald zu euch zu senden, auf daß auch ich gutes Mutes sei, wenn ich eure Umstände weiß.

20 No [one] for I have like-minded, who genuinely the [things] relative to you will care for;

Denn ich habe niemand gleichgesinnt, der von Herzen [O. redlich, aufrichtig] für das Eure [Eig. das euch Betreffende, eure Umstände; wie v 19] besorgt sein wird;

21 Those all for the [things] their own are seeking, not the [things] Jesus of Christ;

denn alle suchen das Ihrige, nicht das, was Jesu Christi ist.

22 But the proven worth of him you know, that as a father [with] a child with me myself he has served in the gospel.

Ihr kennet aber seine Bewährung, daß er, wie ein Kind dem Vater, mit mir gedient hat an dem Evangelium.

23 Him indeed therefore I hope to send when maybe (I may have seen *N+kO) the [things] concerning me myself immediately;

Diesen nun hoffe ich sofort zu senden, wenn ich gesehen haben werde, wie es um mich steht.

24 I have been persuaded however in [the] Lord that also I myself soon I will come.

Ich vertraue aber im Herrn, daß auch ich selbst bald kommen werde.

25 Necessary now I esteemed [it] Epaphroditus the brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier of mine, of you now messenger and minister of the need of mine, to send to you;

Ich habe es aber für nötig erachtet, Epaphroditus, meinen Bruder und Mitarbeiter und Mitstreiter, aber euren Abgesandten und Diener meiner Notdurft, zu euch zu senden;

26 since longing after he was all you (to see *O) and being deeply distressed because you heard that he was ill.

sintemal ihn sehnlich nach euch allen verlangte, und er sehr bekümmert war, weil ihr gehört hattet, daß er krank war.

27 And indeed he was sick nearly (unto death; *NK+o) but God had mercy on him not on him now alone but also on me myself, that not sorrow upon sorrow I may have.

Denn er war auch krank, dem Tode nahe; [Eig. gleich] aber Gott hat sich über ihn erbarmt, nicht aber über ihn allein, sondern auch über mich, auf daß ich nicht Traurigkeit auf Traurigkeit hätte.

28 All the more speedily therefore I have sent him, that having seen him again you may rejoice, and I myself and I myself less anxious may be.

Ich habe ihn nun desto eilender gesandt, auf daß ihr, wenn ihr ihn sehet, wieder froh werdet, und ich weniger betrübt sei.

29 do receive therefore him in [the] Lord with all joy and such in honor do hold;

Nehmet ihn nun auf im Herrn mit aller Freude und haltet solche in Ehren;

30 because for the sake of the work (of Christ *NK+O) unto death he came near having disregarded [his] life so that he may fill up the of you deficit of toward me service.

denn um des Werkes willen ist er dem Tode nahe gekommen, indem er sein Leben wagte, auf daß er den Mangel in eurem Dienste gegen mich ausfüllte.
