Matthew 11
1 And it came to pass when finished Jesus commanding the twelve disciples of Him, He departed from there to teach and to preach in the cities of them.
Après que Jésus eut achevé de donner ces ordres à ses douze disciples, il partit de là pour aller enseigner et prêcher dans leurs villes.
2 And John having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having sent (on account of *N+KO) of the disciples of him
Or, Jean, ayant entendu parler dans la prison de ce que le Christ faisait, envoya deux de ses disciples pour lui dire
3 said to Him; You yourself are the coming [One], or another are we to look for?
Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre?
4 And answering Jesus said to them; Having gone do relate to John what you hear and see:
Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit: Allez, et rapportez à Jean les choses que vous entendez et que vous voyez:
5 Blind receive sight, and lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and deaf hear, (and *no) dead are raised, and poor are evangelised;
Les aveugles recouvrent la vue, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont nettoyés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, et l'évangile est annoncé aux pauvres.
6 And blessed is he who (only *NK+o) unless shall fall away in Me myself.
Heureux est celui qui ne se scandalisera pas de moi.
7 As these now were going away began Jesus to speak to the crowds concerning John: What went you out into the wilderness to see? A reed by [the] wind shaken?
Comme ils s'en allaient, Jésus se mit à parler de Jean au peuple, et dit: Qu'êtes-vous allés voir au désert? Un roseau agité du vent?
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in delicate (garments *k) dressed? Behold those delicate [clothing] wearing in the houses (of kings *NK+o) are;
Mais, qu'êtes-vous allés voir? Un homme vêtu d'habits précieux? Voici, ceux qui portent des vêtements précieux sont dans les maisons des rois.
9 But what did you go out to see? a prophet? Yes I say to you; and [one] more excellent than a prophet.
Qu'êtes-vous donc allés voir? Un prophète? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu'un prophète.
10 For this (for *ko) is [he] concerning whom it has been written: Behold I myself send the messenger of Mine before [the] face of You who will prepare the way of You before You.’
Car c'est celui de qui il est écrit: Voici, j'envoie mon messager devant ta face, qui préparera ton chemin devant toi.
11 Amen I say to you; not has been raised among [those] born of women one greater than John the Baptist; Yet the least in the kingdom of the heavens greater than he is.
Je vous dis en vérité qu'entre ceux qui sont nés de femme, il n'en a pas été suscité de plus grand que Jean-Baptiste; toutefois celui qui est le plus petit dans le royaume des cieux est plus grand que lui.
12 From then the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence, and [the] violent claim it.
Mais depuis le temps de Jean-Baptiste jusqu'à maintenant, le royaume des cieux est forcé, et les violents le ravissent.
13 All for the prophets and the law until John prophesied.
Car tous les prophètes et la loi ont prophétisé jusqu'à Jean.
14 And if you are willing to receive [it], he himself is Elijah who is being about to come.
Et si vous voulez recevoir ce que je dis, il est cet Élie qui devait venir.
15 The [one] having ears he should hear.
Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, entende.
16 To what however will I compare generation this? Like it is (children *N+kO) sitting in (the *no) markets (who *N+KO) (calling out *N+kO) (to others *N+KO) (of them *k)
Mais à qui comparerai-je cette génération? Elle ressemble aux petits enfants assis dans les places publiques, et qui crient à leurs compagnons, et disent:
17 (and *k) saying: We piped for you and not you did dance, we sang a dirge (to you *k) and not you did wail.
Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n'avez point dansé; nous avons chanté des plaintes devant vous, et vous n'avez point pleuré.
18 Came for John neither eating nor drinking, and they say; A demon he has!
Car Jean est venu ne mangeant ni ne buvant; et ils disent: Il a un démon.
19 Came the Son of Man eating and drinking, and they say; Behold a man a glutton and a drunkard, of tax collectors a friend and of sinners! But is justified wisdom by the (deeds *N+KO) of her.
Le Fils de l'homme est venu mangeant et buvant; et ils disent: Voilà un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des péagers et des pécheurs. Mais la sagesse a été justifiée par ses enfants.
20 Then He began to denounce the cities in which had taken place the most miracles of Him because not they repented;
Alors il se mit à faire des reproches aux villes où il avait fait la plupart de ses miracles, de ce qu'elles ne s'étaient point repenties.
21 Woe to you Chorazin! Woe to you Bethsaida! For if in Tyre and Sidon had taken place the miracles which having come to pass in you, long ago then would in sackcloth and ashes they have repented.
Malheur à toi, Corazin! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda! car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous eussent été faits à Tyr et à Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties en prenant le sac et la cendre.
22 But I say to you; for Tyre and Sidon more tolerable will it be in [the] day of judgment than for you.
C'est pourquoi je vous dis que le sort de Tyr et de Sidon sera plus supportable au jour du jugement que le vôtre.
23 And you yourself Capernaum, (surely not *N+KO) to heaven (will be exalted? *N+kO) to Hades (will go down! *N+kO) For if in Sodom (happened *N+kO) the miracles that were happening in you, (it remained *N+kO) then would until the day. (Hadēs g86)
Et toi, Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusqu'au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusqu'en enfer; car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi eussent été faits à Sodome, elle subsisterait encore aujourd'hui. (Hadēs g86)
24 But I say to you that for [the] land of Sodom more tolerable will it be in day of judgment than for you.
C'est pourquoi je vous dis que le sort du pays de Sodome sera plus supportable au jour du jugement que le tien.
25 At that [very] time answering Jesus said; I fully consent to You, Father Lord of the heaven and the earth, for (You did hide *N+kO) these things from wise and learned and did reveal them to little children.
En ce temps-là Jésus, prenant la parole, dit: Je te loue, ô Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et que tu les as révélées aux enfants.
26 Yes O Father, for thus well-pleasing it was before You.
Oui, mon Père! cela est ainsi, parce que tu l'as trouvé bon.
27 All things to Me was delivered by the Father of Mine, And no [one] knows the Son only except the Father, nor the Father anyone does know only except the Son and to whom if shall choose the Son to reveal [Him].
Toutes choses m'ont été données par mon Père; et nul ne connaît le Fils que le Père; et nul ne connaît le Père que le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils aura voulu le faire connaître.
28 Come to Me all you who [are] toiling and burdened, and I myself and I myself will give rest to you.
Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et je vous soulagerai.
29 do take the yoke of Mine upon you and do learn from Me for gentle I am and humble in heart, and you will find rest for the souls of you.
Chargez-vous de mon joug, et apprenez de moi, parce que je suis doux et humble de cour, et vous trouverez le repos de vos âmes;
30 The for yoke of Mine [is] easy and the burden of Mine light is.
car mon joug est aisé, et mon fardeau léger.
