Acts 11

1 Heard now the apostles and the brothers those being in Judea that also the Gentiles received the word of God.

2 (and *k) When (also *no) went up Peter to (Jerusalem, *N+kO) were contending with him those of [the] circumcision

3 saying that (You entered *NK+O) to men uncircumcision having and (you ate with *NK+O) them.

vachiti: Wakapinda muvarume vasina kudzingiswa, ukadya navo.

4 having begun now Peter he was explaining [it] to them in order saying;

Asi Petro atanga wakavarondedzera zvichitevedzana achiti:

5 I myself was in [the] city of Joppa praying and I saw in a trance a vision descending a vessel certain like a sheet great by four corners being let down out of heaven, and it came down as far as me;

Ini ndakange ndiri muguta reJopa ndichinyengetera, zvino muchiyeverwa ndakaona chiratidzo, umwe mudziyo wakaburuka, semucheka mukuru unoburuswa kubva kudenga nemakona mana, ndokusvika kwandiri;

6 On it having looked intently I was observing [it] and I saw the quadrupeds of the earth and the wild beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the air.

wandakati ndatarisisa ndacherekedza, zvino ndakaona mhuka dzine makumbo mana dzenyika nemhuka dzesango nezvinokambaira neshiri dzedenga.

7 I heard then (also *no) a voice saying to me; Having risen up Peter, do kill and do eat.

Zvino ndakanzwa inzwi richiti kwandiri: Simuka, Petro, baya udye.

8 I said however; In no way, Lord; for (every *K) common or unclean nothing ever has entered into the mouth of mine.

Asi ndakati: Aiwa kwete Ishe; nokuti hakuna chisakachena kana chine tsvina chakatongopinda mumuromo mangu.

9 Answered however (to me *k) [the] voice for a second [time] out of heaven; What God has cleansed, you yourself not do call unholy.

Asi inzwi rakandipindura rwechipiri richibva kudenga richiti: Mwari chaachenesa, iwe usati chakasviba.

10 This now happened on three times, and was drawn up again all into heaven.

Uye izvi zvakaitika kusvikira katatu, zvese ndokukweverwazve kumusoro kudenga.

11 and behold immediately three men stood at the house in which (I was *N+kO) sent from Caesarea to me.

Zvino tarira, pakarepo varume vatatu vamire pamberi pemba yandakange ndiri, vatumwa kwandiri kubva kuKesariya.

12 Told now the Spirit to me to go with them not (having discriminated. *N+kO) Went now with me myself also six brothers these, and we entered into the house of the man.

Mweya ndokuti kwandiri ndiende navo, ndisiri asina chokwadi nechinhu; nehama idzi nhanhatuwo dzakaenda neni, zvino takapinda mumba memurume uyu;

13 He related (then *N+kO) to us how he had seen the angel in the house of him having stood and having said (to him: *k) do send forth to Joppa (men *K) and do yourself send for Simon who is called Peter,

iye akatipira kuti wakaona sei mutumwa amire mumba make, achiti kwaari: Tumira varume kuJopa, ugodana Simoni, anonzi Petro,

14 who will speak declarations to you in which will be saved you yourself and all the household of you.

achakuudza mashoko, auchaponeswa nawo iwe nemhuri yako yese.

15 In then beginning me to speak fell the Spirit Holy upon them, even as also upon us in [the] beginning.

Zvino ndakati ndichatanga kutaura, Mweya Mutsvene wakaburukira pamusoro pavowo, sezvazvakaita pamusoro pedu pakutanga.

16 I remembered then the declaration (of the *no) Lord, how He was saying: John indeed baptized with water, you yourselves however will be baptized with [the] Spirit Holy.

Zvino ndakarangarira shoko raIshe, kuti wakataura sei achiti: Johwani zvirokwazvo wakabhabhatidza nemvura, asi imwi muchabhabhatidzwa neMweya Mutsvene.

17 If then the same gift has given to them God as also to us having believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, I myself (now *k) how was able to forbid God?

Naizvozvo kana Mwari avapa chipo chakafanana nechaakapa kwatiriwo, takatenda kuna Ishe Jesu Kristu, ini ndaiva ani waigona kudzivisa Mwari?

18 Having heard then these things they were silent and (glorified *N+kO) God saying; Then indeed (indeed *k) also to the Gentiles God repentance unto life has given.

Zvino vakati vanzwa zvinhu izvozvi vakanyarara, vakarumbidza Mwari, vachiti: Naizvozvo Mwari wakapawo kuvahedheni kutendeukira kuupenyu.

19 Those indeed therefore having been scattered by the tribulation having taken place over Stephen passed through until Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch to no one speaking the word only except solely to Jews.

20 Were however some of them men of Cyprus and of Cyrene, who (having come *N+kO) into Antioch were speaking (also *no) to the (Hellenists *NK+o) evangelising [about] the Lord Jesus.

Asi kwaiva nevamwe vavo, varume VaSaipuresi neVaSairini vakati vasvika kuAndiyokiya, vakataura kuVaHerenisiti, vachiparidza mashoko akanaka aIshe Jesu.

21 And was [the] hand of [the] Lord with them, [a] great then number (which *no) having believed turned to the Lord;

Neruoko rwaIshe rwaiva navo; uye uwandu ukuru hwakatenda hukatendeukira kuna Ishe.

22 Was heard now the report in the ears of the church which (is being *no) in (Jerusalem *N+kO) concerning them and they sent forth Barnabas (to go *NK) as far as Antioch;

Zvino shoko pamusoro pavo rikanzwikwa munzeve dzekereke yaiva paJerusarema; zvino vakatuma Bhanabhasi kuti agure kunosvika Andiyokiya;

23 who having come and having seen the grace (which [is] *no) of God he rejoiced and he was exhorting all with resolute purpose of heart to abide (in *o) the Lord;

iye asvika ndokuona nyasha dzaMwari akafara, akavakurudzira vese kuti varambire panaIshe nekuzvipira kwemoyo;

24 For he was a man good and full of [the] Spirit Holy and of faith. And was added a crowd large to the Lord.

nokuti waiva murume wakanaka, uye azere neMweya Mutsvene uye nekutenda; chaunga chikuru ndokuwedzerwa kuna Ishe.

25 He went forth then to Tarsus (Barnabas *K) to seek Saul,

Bhanabhasi ndokubuda akaenda kuTaso kunotsvaka Sauro.

26 and having found (him *k) he brought (him *k) to Antioch. It came to pass [that] now (they *N+kO) also a year whole gathering together in the church and teaching a crowd large, Were calling then (first *N+kO) in Antioch the disciples Christians.

27 In these now days came down from Jerusalem prophets to Antioch;

28 Having risen up now one of them named Agabus he signified through the Spirit [that] a famine (great *N+kO) to ensue being over all the world — (which *N+kO) (also *k) was in [the time of] Claudius (of Caesar. *K)

Zvino kwakasimuka umwe wavo wainzi Agabhusi, ndokuratidza neMweya kuti nzara huru ichavapo panyika yese; yakaitikawo panguva yaKiraudhio Kesari.

29 And the disciples even as was prospered anyone, determined each of them for ministry to send to the dwelling in Judea brothers;

Uye vadzidzi vakazvipira kuti chero ani paaigona napo, umwe neumwe wavo atume zvinobatsira kuhama dzigere muJudhiya;

30 which also they did having sent [it] to the elders through [the] hand of Barnabas and Saul.
