1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy To the church of the Thessalonians in God [the] Father and in [the] Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace (from of God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ. *K)

Paulus und Silvanus und Timotheus der Versammlung der Thessalonicher in Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus: Gnade euch und Friede!

2 We give thanks to God always concerning all of you mention (of you *k) making in the prayers of us,

Wir danken Gott allezeit für euch alle, indem wir euer erwähnen in unseren Gebeten,

3 unceasingly remembering your work of faith and labor of love and the endurance of the hope of the Lord of us Jesus Christ before the God and Father of us;

unablässig eingedenk eures Werkes des Glaubens und der Bemühung der Liebe und des Ausharrens der Hoffnung auf unseren Herrn Jesus Christus, [W. unseres Herrn Jesus Christus] vor unserem Gott und Vater,

4 knowing, brothers beloved by God, the election of you;

wissend, von Gott geliebte Brüder, eure Auserwählung.

5 because the gospel of us not came to you in word only but also in power and in [the] Spirit Holy and with full assurance much even as you know what we were among you on account of you;

Denn unser Evangelium war nicht bei euch [O. war nicht zu euch gekommen] im Worte allein, sondern auch in Kraft und im Heiligen Geiste und in großer Gewißheit, wie ihr wisset, was [Eig. was für welche] wir unter euch waren um euretwillen.

6 And you yourselves imitators of us became and of the Lord having received the word in tribulation much with [the] joy of [the] Spirit Holy,

Und ihr seid unsere Nachahmer geworden und des Herrn, indem ihr das Wort aufgenommen habt in vieler Drangsal mit Freude des Heiligen Geistes,

7 so as for to became you (an example *N+KO) to all the believing [ones] in Macedonia and (in *no) Achaia.

so daß ihr allen Gläubigen in Macedonien und in Achaja zu Vorbildern geworden seid.

8 From you for has sounded forth the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and (in *no) Achaia, but (also *k) in every place the faith of you toward God has gone abroad, so as for not need to have us to say anything.

Denn von euch aus ist das Wort des Herrn erschollen, nicht allein in Macedonien und in Achaja, sondern an jedem Orte ist euer Glaube an Gott ausgebreitet worden, so daß wir nicht nötig haben, etwas zu sagen.

9 They themselves for concerning us report what reception (we had *N+kO) from you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve [the] God living and true

Denn sie selbst verkündigen von uns, welchen Eingang wir bei euch hatten, und wie ihr euch von den Götzenbildern zu Gott bekehrt habt, dem [O. einem] lebendigen und wahren Gott zu dienen

10 and to await the Son of Him from the heavens, whom He raised out from the dead, Jesus who is delivering us (from *N+kO) the wrath which is coming.

und seinen Sohn aus den Himmeln zu erwarten, den er aus den Toten auferweckt hat, -Jesum, der uns errettet [O. befreit] von dem kommenden Zorn.
