< Romans 13 >

1 Let, every soul, unto protecting authorities be in subjection; for there is no authority save by God, and, they that are in being, have by God been arranged, —
Every soul to the authorities being above [him] should be subject. Not for there is authority only except (by *N+kO) God, those however existing (authorities *k) by God instituted are.
2 So that, he who rangeth himself against the authority, against the arrangement of God opposeth himself, and, they who oppose, shall unto themselves a sentence of judgment receive.
Therefore the [one] resisting the authority the of God ordinance has resisted; those now having resisted upon themselves judgment will bring.
3 For, they who bear rule, are not a terror unto the good work but unto the evil. Wouldst thou not be afraid of the authority? That which is good, be thou doing, and thou shall have praise of the same;
The for rulers not are a terror (to the good *N+kO) (work *N+KO) but (to the evil. *N+kO) Do you desire now not to fear the authority? The good do perform and you will have praise from him;
4 For, God’s minister, is he unto thee for that which is good. But, if, that which is evil, thou be doing, be afraid! For, not in vain, the sword he beareth; for, God’s minister, he is, —an avenger, unto anger, to him who practiseth what is evil.
Of God for servant he is to you for good. If however evil you shall do, do be afraid; not for in vain the sword he bears. of God for a servant He is an avenger for wrath to the [one] evil doing.
5 Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection, —not only because of the anger, but also because of the conscience;
Therefore necessary [it is] to be subject, not only on account of the wrath but also on account of the conscience.
6 For, because of this, are ye paying tribute also, —for, God’s ministers of state, they are, unto this very thing, giving constant attendance.
Because of this for also taxes pay you; servants for of God they are upon this very thing attending continually.
7 Render unto all their dues, —unto whom tribute, tribute, unto whom tax, tax, unto whom fear, fear, unto whom honour, honour.
do render (therefore *K) to all their dues, to whom the tax the tax, to whom the revenue the revenue, to whom the respect the respect, to whom the honor the honor.
8 Nothing to any, be owing—save to be loving one another; for, he that loveth his neighbour, hath given to, law, its fulfillment.
To no one nothing do owe only except one another to love; the [one] for loving the other [the] Law has fulfilled;
9 For, this—Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not commit murder, Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not covet, and if there is any different commandment, in this word, is summed up, [namely]—Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
For Not you will commit adultery, Not you will murder, Not you will steal (not will you bear false witness *K) Not you will covet, and if any other commandment, in word this it is summed up, in the [saying] You will love the neighbour of you as (yourself. *NK+O)
10 Love, unto one’s neighbour, worketh not ill; Law’s fullness, therefore, is, love.
Love to the neighbour evil not does do; [the] fulfillment therefore of [the] law love [is].
11 And, this besides, —knowing the season—that it is an hour already for you out of sleep to be wakened; for, now, is our salvation nearer than when we believed:
And this knowing the time, that [it is the] hour already ([for] you *N+kO) out of sleep to awaken; now for nearer [is] of us the salvation than when first we believed;
12 The night, is far spent and, the day, hath drawn near; let us, then, cast off the works of darkness, [and] let us put on the armour of light, —
The night is nearly over and the day has drawn near. (We may cast off *NK+o) therefore the works of darkness, (and *k) we may put on (now *no) the armor of light.
13 As in daytime, becomingly let us walk: not in revellings and in drunken bouts, not in chamberings and in wanton deeds, not in strife and envy; —
As in daytime properly we may walk, not in reveling and in drinking, not in sexual immorality and in sensuality, not in dissension and in jealousy;
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and, for the flesh, take not forethought to fulfil its covetings.
But do put on the Lord Jesus Christ and of the flesh provision not do make for desires.
