Genesis 10
1 Now, these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and there were born to them sons after the flood.

2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Javan and Tubal, —and Meshech, and Tiras.

3 And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath, and Togarmah.
Gomers Sønner: Asjkenaz, Rifat og Togarma.
4 And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish. Kittim, and Rodanim, —
Javans Sønner: Elisja, Tarsis. Kittæerne og Rodosboerne;
5 From these, were dispersed [the inhabitants] of the coastlands of the nations, in their lands, each man by his tongue, by their families in their nations.
fra dem nedstammer de fjerne Strandes Folk. Det var Jafets Sønner i deres Lande, hver med sit Tungemaal, efter deres Slægter og i deres Folkeslag.
6 And, the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Phut and Canaan.
Kams Sønner: Kusj, Mizrajim, Put og Kana'an.
7 And, the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabtah and Raamah, and Sabtechah, —And the sons of Raamah, Sheba and Dedan.
Kusj's Sønner: Seba, Havila, Sabta, Ra'ma og Sabteka. Ra'mas Sønner: Saba og Dedan.
8 And, Cush begat Nimrod.—he, became a hero in the earth;
Og Kusj avlede Nimrod, som var den første Storhersker paa Jorden.
9 he, became a hero of hunting before Yahweh, for this cause, it is said. Like Nimrod, a hero of hunting before Yahweh.
Han var en vældig Jæger for HERRENS Øjne; derfor siger man: »En vældig Jæger for HERRENS Øjne som Nimrod.«
10 So the beginning of his kingdom came to be Babel, and Erech, and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Fra først af omfattede hans Rige Babel, Erek, Akkad og Kalne i Sinear;
11 From that land, went forth Asshur, —and he built Nineveh, and Rehoboth-ir, and Calah:

12 and Resen, between Niveveh and Calah, —the same is the great city.

14 and Pathrusim and Casluhim whence came forth Philistim and Caphtorim.

15 And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth:

16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;

17 and the Hivite and the Arkite, and the Sinite:

18 and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite, —and after-wards, were spread abroad the families of the Canaanite.

19 And it came to pass that the boundary of the Canaanite was from Zidon, as thou enterest in towards Gerar unto Gaza, —as thou enterest in towards Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboim, as far as Lasha.
saa at Kana'anæernes Omraade strakte sig fra Zidon i Retning af Gerar indtil Gaza, i Retning af Sodoma, Gomorra, Adma, og Zebojim indtil Lasja.
20 These, are the sons of Ham, by their families by their tongues, in their lands in their nations.
Det var Kams Sønner efter deres Slægter og Tungemaal i deres Lande og Folk.
21 Now, to Shem, father of all the sons of Eber, elder brother of Japheth, to him also, were children born.
Men ogsaa Sem, alle Ebersønnernes Fader, Jafets ældste Broder, fødtes der Sønner.
22 The sons of Shem, Elam and Asshur, —and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.
Sems Sønner: Elam, Assur, Arpaksjad, Lud og Aram.
23 And, the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
Arams Sønner: Uz, Hul, Geter og Masj.
24 Now Arpachshad, begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.
Arpaksjad avlede Sjela; Sjela avlede Eber;
25 And to Eber, were born two sons, —the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days, was the earth divided, and the name of his brother was Joktan.
Eber fødtes der to Sønner; den ene hed Peleg, thi paa hans Tid adsplittedes Jordens Befolkning, og hans Broder hed Joktan.
26 Now, Joktan, begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;
Joktan avlede Almodad, Sjelef, Hazarmavet, Jera,
27 and Hadoram and Uzal, and Diklah:
Hadoram, Uzal, Dikla,
28 and Obal and Abimael, and Sheba:
Obal, Abimael, Saba,
29 and Ophir and Havilah, and Jobab—all these were sons of Joktan.

30 And it came to pass that their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou enterest in towards Sephar, the mountain of the east.

32 These, are the families of the sons of Noah, by their generations in their nations, and from these, were dispersed the nations in the earth after the flood.
