Amos 7
1 Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! he was preparing the locust, in the beginning of the shooting up of the after-grass, —and lo! after-grass, cometh after the mowings for the king.
Ούτως έδειξεν εις εμέ Κύριος ο Θεός· και ιδού, εμόρφωσεν ακρίδας εν τη αρχή της βλαστήσεως του δευτέρου χόρτου, και ιδού, ήτο ο δεύτερος χόρτος μετά τον θερισμόν του βασιλέως.
2 And it came to pass, when they had made an end of eating the herbage of the land, that I said—Oh, My Lord, Yahweh, forgive, I beseech thee: By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.
Και ότε ετελείωσαν να τρώγωσι τον χόρτον της γης, τότε είπα, Κύριε Θεέ, γενού ίλεως, δέομαι· τις θέλει αναστήσει τον Ιακώβ; διότι είναι ολιγοστός.
3 Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —It shall not be, said Yahweh?
Ο Κύριος μετεμελήθη εις τούτο· δεν θέλει γείνει, λέγει Κύριος.
4 Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! My Lord Yahweh proclaiming that, the controversy should be settled by fire, —which, having devoured the mighty roaring deep, should devour the inheritance.
Ούτως έδειξεν εις εμέ Κύριος ο Θεός· και ιδού, Κύριος ο Θεός καλεί εις δίκην διά πυρός και το πυρ κατέφαγε την άβυσσον την μεγάλην και κατέφαγε μέρος της γης.
5 Then said I, My Lord, Yahweh, forbear, I beseech thee, By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.
Τότε είπα, Κύριε Θεέ, παύσον, δέομαι· τις θέλει αναστήσει τον Ιακώβ; διότι είναι ολιγοστός.
6 Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —Even this, shall not be, said My Lord, Yahweh.
Ο Κύριος μετεμελήθη εις τούτο· Και τούτο δεν θέλει γείνει, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός.
7 Here, he gave me to see, and lo! My Lord, stationed upon a pinnacle, —and, in his hand a plummet.
Ούτως έδειξεν εις εμέ, και ιδού, ο Κύριος ίστατο επί τοίχου εκτισμένου με στάθμην, έχων εν τη χειρί αυτού στάθμην.
8 And Yahweh said unto me, What canst thou see, Amos? And I said, A plummet, —Then said My Lord, Behold me! fixing a plummet in the midst of my people Israel, I will not again any more forgive him.
Και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Τι βλέπεις συ, Αμώς; Και είπα, Στάθμην. Τότε είπεν ο Κύριος, Ιδού, εγώ θέλω βάλει στάθμην εις το μέσον του λαού μου Ισραήλ· δεν θέλω πλέον παρατρέξει αυτόν του λοιπού.
9 So shall the high places of Isaac, be made desolate, and, the holy places of Israel, be laid waste, —and I will rise up, against the house of Jeroboam, with the sword.
Και οι βωμοί του Ισαάκ θέλουσιν ερημωθή και τα αγιαστήρια του Ισραήλ θέλουσιν αφανισθή· και θέλω σηκωθή εναντίον του οίκου Ιεροβοάμ εν ρομφαία.
10 Then sent Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, unto Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: A conspiracy hath Amos, raised against thee, in the midst of the house of Israel, The land, is not able to endure, all his words;
Τότε ο Αμασίας ο ιερεύς της Βαιθήλ εξαπέστειλε προς Ιεροβοάμ τον βασιλέα του Ισραήλ, λέγων, Ο Αμώς συνώμοσεν εναντίον σου εν μέσω του οίκου Ισραήλ· ο τόπος δεν δύναται να υποφέρη πάντας τους λόγους αυτού·
11 For, thus, saith Amos, By the sword, shall Jeroboam, die, —and, Israel, shall, surely be exiled, from off his own soil.
διότι ούτω λέγει ο Αμώς· Ο Ιεροβοάμ θέλει τελευτήσει διά ρομφαίας, ο δε Ισραήλ βεβαίως θέλει φερθή αιχμάλωτος εκ της γης αυτού.
12 Then said Amaziah unto Amos, O seer, go flee thee away unto the land of Judah—and eat, there, bread, and, there, mayest thou prophesy;
Τότε είπεν ο Αμασίας προς τον Αμώς, Ω συ ο βλέπων, ύπαγε, φύγε εις την γην Ιούδα και εκεί τρώγε άρτον και εκεί προφήτευε·
13 But, at Bethel, not again, any more, mayest thou prophesy, —for, the holy place of the king, it is, and, the house of the kingdom, it is.
εν δε τη Βαιθήλ μη προφητεύσης πλέον, διότι είναι αγιαστήριον του βασιλέως και είναι οίκος του βασιλείου.
14 Then answered Amos, and said unto Amaziah, No prophet, was I, —nor the son of a prophet, was I, —but, a herdman, was I, and a preparer of sycamore fruit;
Και απεκρίθη ο Αμώς και είπε προς τον Αμασίαν, δεν ήμην εγώ προφήτης ουδέ υιός προφήτου εγώ, αλλ' ήμην βοσκός και συνάζων συκάμινα·
15 But Yahweh, took me away, from following the flock, —and Yahweh, said unto me, Go prophesy against my people Israel.
και ο Κύριος με έλαβεν από όπισθεν του ποιμνίου και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Ύπαγε, προφήτευσον εις τον λαόν μου Ισραήλ.
16 Now, therefore, hear thou the word of Yahweh, —Thou art saying, Thou must not prophesy concerning Israel, nor let thy word drop down upon the house of Isaac.
Τώρα λοιπόν άκουε τον λόγον του Κυρίου. Συ λέγεις, Μη προφήτευε κατά του Ισραήλ και μη στάλαζε λόγον κατά του οίκου Ισαάκ.
17 Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, Thy wife, in the city, will commit unchastity, and, thy sons and thy daughters, by the sword, shall fall, and, thine own soil, by line, shall he apportioned, —and, thou, on a polluted soil, shalt die, and, Israel, shall, surely go into exile, away from his own soil.
Διά τούτο ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Η γυνή σου θέλει είσθαι πόρνη εν τη πόλει, και οι υιοί σου και αι θυγατέρες σου θέλουσι πέσει διά ρομφαίας, και η γη σου θέλει μερισθή διά σχοινίου, και συ θέλεις τελευτήσει εν γη ακαθάρτω· ο δε Ισραήλ βεβαίως θέλει φερθή αιχμάλωτος εκ της γης αυτού.
