Psalms 64

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Dem Sangmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Höre meine Stimme, Gott, in meiner Klage, bewahre mein Leben vor des Feindes Schauer.

2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity:

Verbirg mich vor der Bösen Rotte, vor dem Gedränge derer, die Unrecht tun;

3 Who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words:

Die ihre Zunge schärfen wie ein Schwert, die mit ihren Pfeilen zielen, mit bitterem Wort.

4 That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

Die im Verborgenen schießen auf den Untadeligen; plötzlich schießen sie und fürchten sich nicht.

5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

Sie machen fest für sich die böse Sache, erzählen, wie sie hehlings Fallstricke legen; sie sagen: Wer sieht sie?

6 They search out iniquities; We have accomplished, [say they], a diligent search: and the inward thought of every one, and the heart, is deep.

Sie erforschen Verkehrtes: Wir sind fertig, der Plan ist wohl überlegt; und das Innere des Mannes und das Herz sind tief.

7 But God shall shoot at them; with an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.

Aber Gott schießt sie mit einem Pfeil; plötzlich kommen ihre Schläge.

8 So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them: all that see them shall wag the head.

Und sie machen, daß sie straucheln; ihre Zunge ist wider sie; sie entfliehen, ein jeder, der sie sieht.

9 And all men shall fear; and they shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely consider of his doing.

Und alle Menschen fürchten sich und sagen an Gottes Werk und verstehen, was Er getan hat.

10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Der Gerechte ist fröhlich in Jehovah und verläßt sich auf Ihn, und es rühmen sich alle, die geraden Herzens sind.
